BBC News - Coronavirus: Methodist College Belfast sends 500 pupils home amid outbreak https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-55192562
Seems to have affected mainly pupils but also a sizeable number of staff as well.
So much for "schools are the safest place for them to be" and "Covid doesn't spread in schools".
Iβm not from North Ireland, but planning to move there and rn trying to find schools!! Anyone knows anything about Methodist College? Or any good schools I should go to or schools that I would blend in easily? Iβm a 14 year old girl from Hong Kong, currently studying igcseβs
I donβt know if you can tell this one on an online story YouTube or notβ¦. Itβs not for kids. Itβs a true story. I wonβt say exactly where it was, or use names.
This happened around 2003 or 4. I was in college & lived with my older boyfriend in a 4 room apartment complex. It had a 2 shared bathrooms, 1 betweeneach 2 rooms. It has one shared kitchen in the middle of each building. It was the cheapest place in the college town to live in. Cars were broken into & slumlord management, etc. I think we paid $450 a month for that room back then. For the northern most part of California, it was cheap back then.
There was a peculiar lady who lived in the bedroom caddy corner to us & was around 55, but looked 70. I didnβt know how old, but her Beatles posters clued me in to her generation.. She wouldnβt say her age, actually. Anyway, she was on disability & basically laid in bed all day surrounded by dusty old Knick knacks & watched old movies.. She was sick with a stomach thing, headaches, & mental issues. My boyfriend helped her with a few things & she ended up talking to me a few times. About her sad life.He wasnβt the greatest guy & told me heβd talked her into giving him a pain pill. So she must have been sick, but then again pain pills were common in the early 2000s. I never heard an actual named disease or condition. She told me about the adult daughter she never saw, & parents who she hated but paid her rent.
Anyway, months pass & I one day I notice the windshield on her car was smashed. A day later, she was giving things away by setting them near her car with a βfreeβ sign. When I asked her, she seemed ambivalent to the broken windshield. I was pretty ambivalent to her, because she tended to talk too long & sort of trap you in conversation. Needless to say, I avoided her. I never saw her in the kitchen. She mostly just bought liters of soda & donuts, twinkies which she had lying around her room. She was super skinny too, even though all she ate was junk food. Probably malnourished.
So, Halloween night was very close then. On the big party night, I was drinking a shot of vodka in the kitchen before a party when she came into the shared kitchen & began asking me if she could have a shot & I obliged. She was an an older lady, and I trusted that someone older than me knew how to handle alcohol. I had no reason not to share on a holiday, as I was jolly & excited to go out. . After a few shots t
... keep reading on reddit β‘I(F22) was talking to my friend about what was the dumbest dress code rule we have herd of. I completely understand alot of the basic rules like having a dress/ skirt being the proper length, not showing any any cleavage, ect. I understand that we can't just go to church and dress like we are going to a party or nightclub.
But not being able to wear any open toed shoes (i.e most heels , wedges , sandals , ) sounds pretty ridiculous. I'm just going to be honest , it sounds like a bunch of men made and agreed to this rule for women in my opinion
I would like to ask all of the Christian ladies of this sub what is the point of this rule ? Do you agree or disagree with it ?
I am looking into their Prelicensure Masters of Science in Nursing program. There isnβt a lot of feedback from former students reviews online. Itβs a big investment and I want to do my due diligence.
She said she was always so βaboveβ everyone and drove around in a old hunter green Jag and was a TOTAL buzz kill. No real tea here because we all could have guessed that but the confirmation was delightful as I was sipping my 2nd mimosa and eating the other half of my biscuit with sausage gravy at the Westin in Charlotte π₯
Looking at doing my Cert IV in Photography and Photo Imaging at either Melbourne Polytechnic, RMIT or Photography Studies College. I'm not originally from Melbourne and I feel like I'm going in pretty blind, any help would be really appreciated! Thanks :-)
