A list of puns related to "Mayhem Festival 2013"
It surprises me that August Burns Red were never on Mayhem Festival back in the day. I feel like they would've fit perfectly on it and especially in 2012 could've just been in Asking Alexandria's place and overall would've been better received by people.
If you're gonna be in there spamming grenades and supers, you might as well look as goofy as you can while you're doing it. Uldren mask, Shaxx mask, Jack of Lantern, or the ever-popular Chicken Mask... there are no wrong choices here!
Mayhem Festival was a metal music festival that travelled throughout the US, and the metalcore bands that did play at this music festival were mostly melodic metalcore. Mayhem lasted from 2008 to 2015, but its making a return.
Whereas Warped Tour started from 1995 to 2019 and focused on punk. Like Mayhem Warped Tour travelled throughout the US. Warped Tour was associated with the scenecore era and a lot of scene bands played at Warped Tour.
Happy Friday everyone!
It's been ages since we had shows from the Bends and from Atoms for Peace, and so tonight we're gonna have both!
I went digging in the annals of history and found this great, soundboard audio bootleg of a show in the middle of the Bends tour, with a solid setlist for the time.
And then changing things up dramatically - as variety is the spice of life after all - we'll be checking out Thom's solo project with Nigel, Flea, Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco, when they were touring as Atoms for Peace in 2013.
Here's the link to the chatroom where we can listen to the gig together and chat about it/anything else. We started at around 10.30pm UK and we'll be going for a good couple of hours so hope you can drop in at some point in the evening!
Edit: And that's a wrap for today, join us next week for some more great live Radiohead (starting at 5.30pm EST/10.30pm UK)! If you'd like to check out the gigs in your own time, they're here on youtube: Live in Toronto and Exit Revolution festival. Check out their setlists!

"BM's a manufactured band, they didn't have to grind and work hard like real bands."
BABYMETAL has stated several times that festivals are challenges that they enjoy. There's no guarantee of a friendly home crowd like for a solo show. There might not have enough time to rehearse or sound-check properly, in many cases. Conditions - especially at outdoor festivals - are oftentimes poor, whether due to rain or heat. There are very limited special effects available - it's just you, the band, and the crowd. In a sense, it's a straightforward matchup without any tricks or assistance - a pure demonstration of ability in some ways, though of course being able to pull off their "normal" shows is perhaps equally impressive.
Summer of 2013 saw BABYMETAL's first major festival tour, including a wide variety of festivals throughout Japan, ranging from metal to pop, from Hokkaido in the north to prestigious rock festivals like Inazuma Rock Festival, to Anime Festival Asia in Indonesia. For many viewers, this was the first time they'd ever seen BM perform.
When people criticize BM for being a "manufactured band", it's likely because they have the mistaken impression that the girls had everything placed on a silver platter for them, because they're employed by a large Japanese media corporation. Though we already know that this couldn't be farther from the truth, I think it's always good to have a reminder of how much grinding and hard work they needed to do especially in the early days to establish themselves as legitimate (they certainly had to overcome many other challenges later on especially in the Dark Side, but the nature of the obstacles were different).
I've rambled on long enough. As we wait for BM to return to the stage, please enjoy a great interview with the OG trio talking about a summer of touring, back in 2013!
