Glad to be here for this AMA!! Iβm excited to chat with you all today.
A little about meβ¦ I started playing chess at just 5 years old and became a grandmaster at 14! In my chess career, Iβve been a three-time French chess champion, ranked world #1 in rapid οΌ blitz (2019) and I more recently finished 2nd in the FIDE Candidates tournament last April. I also took up writing and published a book called "Chess Player" in 2017. I am currently a Kasparovchess ambassador, Garry Kasparovβs new chess platform where you can find a cool documentary about my journey at the Grand Chess Tour in Abidjan and Paris (https://kasparovchess.com/documentaries) (2019), among many other pieces of exclusive content.
Aside from chess, Iβm also a tennis and soccer enthusiast. But I never stay away from playing for too long as I enjoy all things game related - video games (Fall Guys, Among Us, ...), board games and I even try my luck at the casino sometimes! π¦

Maxime needs no introduction, but in case you are new to professional chess, you should know he was once the world's #2 and with a peak FIDE rating of 2819, it makes him the seventh-highest rated player of all time. He earned a spot at the 2020-2021 Candidates where he ended in second place, half a point behind Ian Nepomniachtchi.

Teimour Radjabov has managed to get to 2nd place in the $1.6M priced Meltwater Champions Chess Tour 2021. Today was the last day of the tournament, and Radjabov manages to guarantee his 2nd position by also defeating French Chess Grandmaster, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave. Congratulations to the Champ!

It was great to watch! MVL brought it back during bullet and activated Hikaru. You could see he got pissed when that happened and won out after for a comfortable victory. Almost every match was really fun to watch. GO SHOW SOME LOVE!!

The Napoleon Chess Trophy is an exhibition taking place on 16 February 2019 in La Roche-sur-Yon. The French city, founded by Napoleon Bonaparte, will commemorate the 250th birth of the famous Emperor and chess player. It will feature a match between French Top GM -World #7- Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Dutch big hope, GM and World Junior #8 Jorden Van Foreest. Seven blitz games will be played, two standard blitz, two games with the Napoleon Opening (1.e4 e5 2.Qf3), two Chess960 games and one blindfold game.
Opening Ceremony Saturday at 13:30 (UTC+1 hour), start of the match at 14:00 with video and live commentaries. The link to the games is in the comments.
