I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about Max’s exit from the show this past Friday. Saying that it was disappointing, and that he deserved better. Here’s the thing. This past week’s EE episodes, pretty much summed up Max entire 14 year run.
Blackmail, fist fights, him proclaiming his love for a married women (lol). It was a subtle love letter to the Max Branning character. Him leaving Abbi with Rainie, showed that he recognised that him taking his granddaughter away from Walford, would be extremely selfish. Implying that maybe, just maybe...there’s still hope for him to be a better man. He walked away from the Square a broken man, all alone, and he had no one to blame but himself. Max’s life in a nutshell.
If things weren’t so hectic due to Covid, I’m sure his exit would have been more dramatic, but for what it was, I think his exit from the show was near perfect.
We need to acknowledge how amazing Jake Wood was in portrayal of Max Branning. A fantastic character played by a fantastic actor. His legacy is iconic. He’ll be missed.
Never thought I’d say this, but Max should be commended. He did time because of Bobby, and yet he has a better relationship with him than Ian does.

23 kids, and none of them do anything. There's not even a gang of teenagers like there normally is, cos of these kids I think Will, Amy and Lily are the oldest and they're about 12/13. Janet is older than Will but we don't see her interact with anyone outside of her family much.
Also, those kids on top of the regular cast of 54 brings the overall cast list to 77. That is a lot of characters.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
