TIL the Mauch Chunk and Summit Railroad in Pennsylvania which operated between 1828 and 1932 inspired the modern roller coaster. TIL after his death, Jim Thorpe's third wife sold his remains to the towns of Mauch Chunk and East Mauch Chunk, a place Thorpe had never been. The towns merged and became Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim…
