It's so cheap and ugly... I've fallen in love. This lady had the entire 86' MCS series fresh from JC Penny's. Needed it out of her basement. Sales guy even talked them into the MCS speakers and matching cabinet. Remote control, paperwork still there too. Tempted to clean/keep for cool factor.

So I'm thinking there are two possibilities, either REI's sale prices happened to drop to Amazon's normally low prices (unlikely) or Amazon quietly dropped their prices during the sale to match the REI prices (which should indicate the REI prices for these items are particularly good).
