i have platinum blonde balayage with hair that tends to be on the dry side to begin with, but itβs VERY cold where i live right now and itβs completely sucked the life from my hair and my usual olaplex just isnβt doing enough.
Just a quick thing regarding the COVID posts that have started to increase in frequency.
We don't consider posts about COVID, including vaccine or mask mandates, to inherently be related to social justice. So those posts about Biden calling for mandatory vaccination, or DeSantis pushing back against masks in schools? Those aren't allowed. We're not r/CoofInAction, nor are we a refugee site for r/NoNewNormal. We're also not a general politics subβI'm pretty sure r/conservative is more your jam if you're into that.
That said, if your post about COVID/vaccines/masks has a clear link to a social justice issue, such as someone saying that white people are responsible for anti-vax info, or mandates would disproportionately affect people of color, or protests being more important than masking up, it's fine. We're not gonna cut a unilateral ban on COVID posts, we're just keeping them on the topic of social justice, as the name of the sub implies. We're also not gonna ban people for vaccine skepticism, unless it crosses the line of a sitewide violation (e.g., "plandemic" stuff).
Oh, and it seems like I keep having to remind y'all that generic posts about what Democrats are doing aren't allowed either, unless they're spreading SocJus stuff. No, we don't consider all Democrats to be SJWs by association with the party. We're not a partisan sub.
That's all. Play nice.
With the Friday the 13th lawsuit STILL going on I thought I'd ask everyone how they would imagine this bastardized version of Jason
I got 2 tubes of tret early in the pandemic from Beauty Bliss and never really had an issue with maskne. It was largely just good timing, maybe a month or two into wearing masks before I got the tret and started using it regularly. I used to use tret religiously but it had been maybe a year to a year and a half since running out and I hadn't reordered. (My initial horde of tretinoin came from a relative bringing me back like 12 tubes from India. so I was set for a long while and kept dragging my feet on finding an online order.)
Ran out maybe after a year (slowly using it less and less as my last couple of tubes got smaller and smaller.) Then I went 5-6 months without tretinoin and my skin was starting to get the little breakouts despite never really have acne. I suppose closed comedones would be the right term. Plus the normal orange peel texture near my nose, and exacerbated 11's wrinkles as well as eye crinkles from trying to emote more with my eyes.
I finally got my order from alldaychemist (took about 5.5 weeks.) I's only been less than a week and I already see a huge difference. Yes my skin is still acclimating and it's got that weird shiny slightly scaly look to it. But it's super smooth (admittedly, dead skin flakes are peeling off and yet strangely my skin still feels very smooth.) I do rub skin flakes off my my fingers when I apply my moisturizer (which is tallow as I have a lot on hand and except for some lanolin nursing lotion, there's very few lotions that feel very moisturizing. plus I'm broke and I like animal fats.)
One change I've made is I have .1% for my forehead, and I'm using .5% on the rest of my face because using 1% felt like a chemical burn even though it didn't really look too bad. a little pink and some peeling so I took a break for a day on my lower face and just did my forehead.
I've also added:
Melalite Forte 4% 30 gm Cream Hydroquinone, Glyceryl Mono Para Amino Benzoate
from alldaychemist for age spots. it smells a little funky but it does seem to boost skin smoothing from the tret. I hadn't really paid attention to sun spots on my face because I'm just used to them but when I really looked I was like, wow, I really should jump on this. Others have mentioned tret+hydroquinone being amazing for their skin so I am hopeful. Plus I tend to have kind of hardy skin so I'm more open to trying stuff eithout worrying too much about screwing my skin up (though that's always possible.)
