I recently came across a YouTube video essay about how divided the fandom was about Nozawa's take on Goku's voice which came as a total surprise to me cos I never found it odd even, quite the opposite really, I liked it especially because it was so high pitched, I felt and still feel if conveys Goku's purity and innocence and above all it's always a great performance by Masako Nozawa, he sound's serious when he's serious and playful when he's playful, no disrespect to Sean Schimmels Goku, I like his portrayal of Goku's serious side but in situations where Goku's comical side takes the spotlight I'm never really sold on it. I feel they both do a great job for the screams during power ups though.
I've always had this thought and feared that it will be all over (in terms of the anime) What do you all think?
I think we should take a minute to appreciate her work, she's been the voice of our beloved main character for more than 30 years, voicing him and his family and his long evil lost twin across movies, games and everything.
Chosen by Toriyama himself in the initial casting for Goku, she's definitely become the iconic voice of the character to the point where Toriyama admitted:
>After that (hearing Goku's voice in the actual broadcast of Dragon Ball), while writing the comic, even I would sort of have that voice come up in my head. At those times, Goku’s voice would always be Nozawa-san’s voice, so I thought, “she’s good”. Even now, I can’t separate Goku from Nozawa-san.
Even if its sort of a controversial topic and there are those who cannot tolerate "Granny Goku", we should all wish her a happy birthday! She puts a lot of heart and soul in her work, and hopefully will continue to for many years to come.

“Broly’s been a favorite character of mine since way back. When he first appeared in the 90s movies, I think kids automatically liked him simply because he was a Super Saiyan. I guess nothing’s cooler than being the strongest. I’ve been drawing Broly since the old days, so I wanted to try drawing him again. Even a shot of him standing around makes for a good picture, so I think he’d be incredibly appealing if he appeared in the manga.”
“Taking a closer look, perhaps Broly’s appeal is that he’s saddled with a past. Unlike villains who just pop up out of nowhere, we get to see the tragic circumstances that led to Broly being so strong, which makes him feel special. With this new movie, Toriyama-sensei has used Broly to craft a story connecting everything from the start of the Saiyans and Freeza’s intertwined destinies right up to the present, so I’d say it’s quite a significant film.”
“Freeza has a very special position as the evil kingpin. Cell’s from the future, and Majin Buu is revived from out of the past, so no matter how strong they may be, their backstory isn’t depicted too much. In comparison, Freeza’s all tied up with the history of the Saiyans’ destruction, so naturally he’d be the big bad of modern times. In the ‘Universe Survival arc’ I think everyone halfway expected him to become Goku’s ally, but in this movie he’s a villain after all. Freeza’s appeal is that he’s bad to the bone.”
“Of course I like the original manga most of all, but I also like the anime, the games, everything. The generation that grew up as fans are now giving it their all making the new anime, games, and manga; I feel like we’re all working to build the Dragon Ball world. I’ll keep on drawing Dragon Ball as long as they’ll keep on asking me to.”

Can we take a moment and talk about this very talented woman who is like 80 years and still offers us quality voice acting?
The way she's changing her tone between Goku, Goten, Gohan and Black is very impressive and she needs to be appreciated more for that, especially by the english speaking audience since in Japan she's already loved by the Dragon Ball fans.
Her voice as Black sounds so freaking cool and menacing, it's amazing that this kind of voice comes out of a 80 year old woman!
I know she's not very liked by most of the english speaking audience because "she makes Goku sound like a girl" but in my opinion she's the perfect voice actor for Goku and she really surprised me when I first heard Black's voice.

#Episode 100 Summary
>As expected, Goku and the rest of the Universe 7 team's counterparts from Universe 6 are formidable foes. Vegeta is stuck in a tough fight against Botamo and Magetta's combo. Next even Cabba heads for Vegeta. Elsewhere Hit shows his power off against Universe 3. Meanwhile Universe 6's female Saiyan Kale loses her nerve and is one-sidedly beaten up on by the the approaching enemies. Before long though, the other female Saiyan Caulifla comes to her aid. Caulifla gives Kale a pep talk to raise her confidence and spur her into using her true power, and the two of them challenge Goku to battle. As Goku and Caulifla fight fiercely, something strange happens to Kale...!
