A list of puns related to "Martin Goodman"
With traffic on the MG trail seemingly exploding this summer, I feel the need to remind everyone that the trail is a multi-use trail that allows pedestrians, joggers, runners, rollerbladers, dog walkers and cyclists. The only thing not allowed on the trail are motorized or electric bicycles or vehicles.
Personally I use the trail to cycle and to walk our dog. Itβs become incredibly unsafe to walk on the trail with the increased cycle traffic this year, so whenever possible I use a parallel sidewalk or dirt path, but in some areas the MG trail is literally the only option to walk on. This year in these areas I have been yelled at to βget off the bike pathβ by multiple cyclists who believe itβs an exclusive cycle path. It is not.
If you walk on the path, be responsible and aware of your surroundings, stay to the right and avoid unpredictable behaviour. If you are a cyclist, ring your bell to make the pedestrian aware you are passing, and when itβs safe pass on the left in a responsible manner. If you must slow down, do so for everyoneβs safety.
Letβs all participate in each otherβs safety so that everyone can enjoy the path this summer. Thank you!
Ok so the weirdest thing happened today. I was riding a bicycle with my brother down Martin Goodman Trail, towards Tommy Thompson Park. On the way back to cherry beach, I have a glimpse of a shadow in the bushes up ahead, inside a curve. While we get closer, I realize some dude is standing naked about 3 meters from the bike path inside of the bushes, his penis half way erected, completely naked except a do-rag on his head and a face mask. At first I thought he was going to do some kind of prank and jump around or chase us off, but he stayed still while we passed him, observing us from his point. It felt fucking creepy. It was the first time I went biking there so I was wondering if itβs something thatβs happened already in the area ?
It's been said in here a few times, but I saw a guy wipeout on his (motorized) longboard earlier tonight and hurt himself, so I feel like it's worth posting it again.
Slow down.
There's a 20kmph speed limit for a reason. If you're going faster than that you won't have time to react to pedestrians, cyclists, dogs or anything else unexpected on a generally overcrowded path.
Slow down.
Seriously.
Everyone.
Pay attention more.
I Biked 3 hours on the MGT trail today, I live near the trail and I know it well and use it almost everyday and I've been riding it since it literally opened years ago and today was some next level shit conditions out there because everyone on wheels were behaving like total dicks.
I know the good weather in spring is an exciting time and people are stoked to be outside but as someone that lives next to the path and bikes on the path daily - year round - its becoming major risky place to bike lately. It gets worse each year I went on a long ride today and the amount of astonishingly inconsiderate and dangerous behaviour I saw was appalling.
2.There are also pedestrian, lots and lots of them and at many points on the path there are so sidewalks so you're going to need to share the path. Also the solid lines for each direction, don't cross them until you are sure oncoming traffic is clear and you are certain you can pick up spread to get in front of the slow pack ahead. So many times today there were these blazing fast road bike racing crews dodging everyone way too close and taking over the other lane and taking the dumbest and sketchiest risks imagine. I saw one who legit nearly crashed into a family of 5 walking with a stroller and instead when they didn't instance move (all which he's in the wrong lane" he yelled at them to move odd the path and onto the grass. It was so fucked up and just shitty behavior. Also the new crop of people on
... keep reading on reddit β‘Wondering about water fountains on the MGT west of Bathurst up to the Humber bridge. The only fountain I know for sure that is open is in Trillium Park by the pavillion near the east entrance. For sure the one at Marilyn Bell Park (across from British Columbia Road) is closed but I'm less sure about the following ones:
Just tyring to plan my long run this weekend and really don't want to bring my water belt if I can help it. Is the city not supposed to turn on all the municipal fountains by now or is that ongoing project?
Hey all.
For more than 10 years, it seems anytime I take a day off work to go cycle west of Bathurst on the Waterfront / Martin Goodman Trail, I'll see a man plodding along in a recumbent trike. It seems apparent that he has some kind of physical disability, but it seems like he's out there riding almost every day for at least a decade. I've never seen him riding with someone else.
I've often wondered what his story is, but haven't felt like it's my place to stop and ask him. Does anyone here know?
Goodbye martin/Paul your life was well lived you were funny we all loved you and we miss you so martin I'll make sure to take my shirt of in honer because its boiling and hope Jackie don't sell your "collectables"
Fairly new to biking on this trail
What do people thing Martin might do. Our guesses were maybe accountant architect or some type of surveyor or engineer.
I'm looking for other books, deep dive into the history of the middle east.
"Rome & Jerusalem - The Clash of Ancient Civilisations" by Martin Goodman
"Iran - Empire of the Mind" by Michael Axworthy -- A History from Zoroaster to the Present Day
Anyone know how to make a GIF of Martin Goodman saying βPenetration?β S3E4 (the ending)
I need this in my life
Hey Martin Goodman Cyclists - anyone else irritated at the speedsters who don't seem to care about busy sections of the trail, and race between people/cyclists even where there is like a four inch gap between pedestrians/other cyclists? I'm looking extra hard at those who do this without sounding their bell or yelling a warning to the crowd they're ploughing through at top speed

A friend of mine was hit while cycling on the Martin Goodman trail and was hit by a car that pulled out of a construction driveway. This friend ended up with a broken bone from the car hitting him. When a police officer came, i was told he said two things that were very concerning. Firstly he said that my friend would be at fault somehow, even though he was riding on the bike path, where there was no signage to stop slow down etc.. Secondly he said that it didn't matter because there are no laws that govern the bike paths and that nothing could be done about the situation. I find both of these statements very concerning if true and was wondering if anyone knows if what the officer said is/could be correct or not.
Any insight would be super helpful. Thanks
I ride my bike from the Beaches towards downtown every morning on the waterfront trail. In the portion between Lakeshore and the new Leslie St. Streetcar barns, a beautiful wildflower garden has emerged naturally with all sorts of native vegetation. There are plenty of butterflies who use this as a habitat and itβs really pleasant to bike by in the morning.
About once every few weeks, either the TTC or the City have a landscaping crew come by and mow everything down.
Is there a bylaw that enforces that this is done, even if the area isnβt unruly?
Is there an avenue for me to issue a complaint other than calling 311?
Thanks in advance! π¦
