Update 5/8/2019: The new rulebook is online! Check it out here: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/gmtwebsiteassets/PeloponnesianWar/PW_Rulebook.pdf
I intended for the word to be horribly maimed, not horrible maimed. And in case you donβt know who Herman Schulz is supposed to be, he is known as the Shocker in the comics.
'The 21st Rewrite', usually a screenplay analysis and criticism show, is starting a new chapter this year with a direct interview with the writer of the screenplay being discussed. Mark Herman adapted John Boyne's bestselling novel 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' into a film back in 2008, and he met us for an interview in York, England.
We compare the screenplay to the original novel and talk about the characters, story and themes, and also a bit about Mark's writing process, why he was so passionate about the project, and some of the controversy and difficulties he faced in adaptating a fictional story set during the Holocaust.

Coming up this year we will have more interviews with screenwriters, as well as our regular deep dives into the iconic screenplays of the twenty-first century.
Mark Herman checking in! I hear there was some interest in having a conversation. I've designed wargames for the past 30 years working with publishers such as SPI, Victory Games, Avalon Hill and GMT games. I pioneered the Card Driven Game movement with my game We the People. My most recent works include Empire of the Sun, Fire in the Lake and Churchill. Ask me Anything!
Signing off for now... if there is interest we can do this again with more notice. All the best, Mark
