Any Marine Raiders on here?
Hey y'all, I'm looking into joining the USMC and I'm looking for advice and answers to some questions. Are there any MARSOC Marines who are willing to answer a few questions honestly for me?
Any Marines in general who wanna drop some knowledge/wisdom also, would be greatly appreciated.

In today's world of SOF surplus, what precisely defines the role of SOF vs that of simply elite light infantry forces? With the wars in Afghanistan/Iraq, it seems the roles for SOF has become so blurred. How different are Marine Raiders compared to Green Berets compared to the 75th Ranger Regiment?
Same with say what prevents 2 or 3 Para (in the UK) from doing similar roles as Royal Marine Commandos did in Afghanistan or what SAS/SBS got up to? Weren't all units doing non-conventional stuff as well as training local forces?
With the end of these wars, will there be a more distinctive and well defined line between SOF-centric and simply elite forces?
