Now a new series by the name of Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp is coming to Netflix and director and co-creator David Wain has brought Rich Sommer, Molly Shannon, and Marguerite Moreau aka the Wet Hot Crew/Club to celebrate! We’ll get some hot ‘sclusies, a possibly canon appearance from Harry Crane, and hear sounds of the first Wet Hot baby during a game of Would You Rather!

Our very first indication of Red being something of a mystery comes in 1.01. What most people remember about it:

>Everything about me is a lie.

Which somehow then becomes something more akin to 'I lie all the time',' or I'm not Raymond Reddington.'

For those who remember some of the context:

>I'm a criminal. Criminals are notorious liars. Everything about me is a lie.

Which then becomes 'I am a criminal, criminals lie, everything I say is a lie' or ' I'm not who the world think I am.'

But, we the few who like context, begin, as usual, with the entire scene:

>Within the hour, Ranko Zamani will abduct the daughter of U. S. General Daniel Ryker. There'll be some kind of diversion, communications will be scrambled, then he'll grab the girl. He wants to be out of the country within 36 hours. If you don't move quickly, she will die. That's what I know.

So, this comes when Liz is asking about the case, about Zamani. Red tells her Zamani will kidnap the child. Liz is uncertain if she should believe Red. That is when Red says he is a criminal, but he does not say all criminals are liars. He says they are commonly liars.

He says, however, that everything ABOUT him is a lie. Is that the same as saying he is not Raymond Reddington? Not really. He could be referring to what Liz had heard about him: a traitor, a man who chose a life of crime after betraying his country.

For context too, we saw Red tell Liz a very similar thing about herself in 1.02 (The Freelancer)

Furthermore, Ian Garvey tells Jennifer something quite similar too:

This will be a VERY long post, also, SPOILERS.

Yep, I have done the deed, and yes I know that there are probably a few posts/videos counting Ethan's canonical damage, but I want to have my own go and I want the NUMBERS, sooo yea!

Rules:
1. Optional ones do NOT count, not even the leg got cut off by shovel/molded one, since, ya know, it's optional, plus it also makes my job way easier :P
2. I count what I think would hurt on a daily life basis, don't care minor or major, I'M COUNTING EM.
3. I count the damages INDIVIDUALLY, so let's say if he got slashed 5 times at the same time that counts as 5 damages
Exceptions:
- Scene is too fast and I can't count them individually even if the clip is slowed down
- All of it happens at once, for example, 4 sharp fingers of Lady D's stabbed through Ethan would count as 1 damage
4. To also make all of our life easier I numbered the damages
5. I will describe these damages as short as possible, but if u want me to make it more detailed, go ahead! tell me :]
6. I'm too poor to own the games and can only rely on videos so pls, go easy on me :'D also, as a person who is sensitive to hand damages and has to constantly rewatch and reconfirm, this is HARD to make

Let us, for the purpose of this post, accept the premise that they were two women, both called Katarina, one living in Russia, a Right Handed Katarina (RH Katarina), and one living in the US, who is left hand dominant (LH Katarina).

Historical events are in Italics.

Let us list a highlight of events happening between 1985 and 1989

• 1985 Masha Rostova is born in Moscow. (likely in December) to ONE of them.
• 1986 LH Katarina hires Kate in Cape Breton, Canada to care for Liz (living as Masha Rostova). Possibly someone sent Kate to Katarina.
• 1986/87 3 months after LH Katarina hired Kate, the day LH Katarina arrived from a trip, LH Katarina kills a soviet operative in her kitchen. Kate cleans the mess.
• 1988 Kate, taking little Masha for a stroll in the woods, sees LH Katarina in a car with “The American” having sex. This is after an unused scene in which Constantin is leaving for an extended trip to South Africa and cannot find LH Katarina to say goodbye.

1989 seems an active year for Raymond Reddington (RR) but we have nothing on either Katarina.

• unknown date - The US Navy and RR create the Grayscape 17 charade to trap Sutton Ross.
• June - US Navy counterintelligence led by RR, Operation Minesweep in Kuwait, to get money to Kurd rebels. Harold Cooper participates.
• November 9, 1989 - Berlin Wall falls.

But in 1990 events accelerate. It is a very busy year for everyone. Le us begin by placing the events we do not know when in the year they happened:

• unspecified date - the Sikorsky Archive is stolen from the KGB. (13 files)
• unspecified date - 1990 suicide of "Katarina Rostova", according to Red in 2016.
• at some point in late 1989 to early 1990 Carla Reddington and her daughter do not reside anymore in the Takoma Park house. ("he's looking for someone who lived in D.C. before 1990")

What is remarkable, is that while we can place a lot of the events of LH Katarina, those that pertain to RH Katarina are shrouded in mystery. And this is key. Dom mixed events of the two women, to fill events in a six months period between the Cape May suicide Liz found, and the October of 1991 surgery with Koehler.

In March of 1990 we have The USS GIDEON affair. A very bizarre incident all along, with lots of indications that it may well have been a charade of sorts, or at least that nothing is as it seems. Let us review the timeline, for I believe these events were critical in what happened at the end of 1990.

• 1919: A woman named Miranda loses her daughter to the Spanish flu. She later encounters a Megamycete underneath a village in Romania and after mastering the mutamycetes power becomes the ruler of the village who experiments on the inhabitans for decades with a mutamycete-based parasite known as Cadou.

• 1960s: Ozwell Spencer discovers the Stairway to the Sunflower in Africa and creates the Progenitor virus from it. Later Spencer, James Marcus and Edward Ashford form the Umbrella Corporation to mask and fund their research. Spencer also begins Project W which enhances several children (all renamed as Wesker) with the Progenitor virus

• 1971: Alexander Ashford begins the Code Veronica project, resulting in the birth of Alexia and Alfred Ashford

• 1977: Marcus creates the T-Virus and begins training Albert Wesker and William Birkin

• 1978: Birkin develops a new strain of T-Virus (infused with Ebola) which mutates subjects into "zombies" instead of only killing them.

• 1982: Alexia creates the T-Veronica virus

• 1983: Alexia infects her father with T-Veronica. Later she fakes her death, injects T-Veronica and enters a state of cryogenic hibernation

• 1988: Marcus becomes a liability and Spencer has him killed. Birkin takes over his research and creates the new G-virus. Wesker and Birkin also begin the Tyrant project in the Arklay laboratory

• 1991: Wesker moves to Umbrellas intelligence division, Birkin is given a new large lab facility known as NEST located underneath the Umbrella-controlled Raccoon City.

• 1992: Wesker unknowingly fathers a son named Jake Muller.

• 1996: Wesker becomes captain of a new Raccoon City special forces team: STARS (Special Tactics and Rescue Service). He later recruits Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Barry Burton, Rebecca Chambers and others into the team

• 1997: Billy Coen is framed for a war crime perpetrated by a group of US marines in Africa and sentenced to death.

• July 1998: Umbrella Training Facility and Arklay Mansion incidents (RE 0 and RE 1)

• September 1998: T-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City (RE 3)

• October 1998: Raccoon City incident and destruction, deaths of William and Annette Birkin (RE 2 and RE 3)

• December 1998: Rockfort Island and Antarctica incident, deaths of Steve Burnside, Alfred and Alexia (RE Code Veronica)

• 2000: The Connections create the Mold bioweapon from material given to them by Mother Miranda. US Colonel Wilson works with Tricell to use virus-infected soldiers in the civil war

There’s the pursuer, big and brutish, and appear to be devoted. However their devotion is questioned

(Lady D disobeys Miranda’s orders to ignore Ethan after he killed her daughter) (Jack ignores Eveline’s order to keep Ethan alive after he discovers Ethan will take his place in the family)

There’s the one who’s devoted without question, 100% loyal

Marguerite and Moreau fit this role. They’re also the only two whose transformation and abilities are centered around an animal (along with being the grossest characters in their respective game)

There’s of course Heisenberg and Lucas, both are plotting behind everybody’s back and are disloyal. They both hate Chris.

Then there’s the one who mindfucks the player with hallucinations

Donna and Eveline fit this role, both use the mold/Cadou to make Ethan hallucinate on various occasions during their sections.

Evie also fits the same role as Miranda, being the head of the family and posing or being seen as an old woman throughout the game.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Maybe I'm just nostalgic for the older CGI cutscenes and whatnot, but I'm a little sad that so many transformations in the new game happen off-camera for the most part.

Jack Baker - Turns into that giant creature off-screen.

Marguerite Baker - Falls into a pile of black goo and transforms unseen.

Lucas Baker - Screen goes to black for some reason where he completes his transformation unseen.

Eveline - Only remember her melting into goo, it's been too long to remember if she transformed on screen.

Never played End of Zoe

William Birkin G1 - Has some cool transformations mid-fight.

William Birkin G1 to G2 - Unseen

William Birkin G2 to G3 - Happens off camera while Leon/Claire and Annette are talking.

William Birkin G3 to G4 - Unseen

William Birkin G4 to G5 - Unseen

Super Tyrant - Happens unseen (explosion happens where he drops Leon, and then next we see him his arm has already transformed).

Nemesis - His transformation to the dog stage happens entirely underwater and unseen. I thought it was pretty nice though that they put the effort into making his final transformation happen.

Dimetrescu - Part of the transformation happens on camera, but the bulk of it she flies off screen for.

Moreau - His change into the fish creature happens underwater, don't think you see him transform into his final form for the boss fight either.

Heisenburg - If I recall, your view of him gets blocked off by a bunch of metal, and then he reappears completely transformed?

Mother Miranda - Don't think you can call her different attack forms a transformation, as she still maintains mostly her same form as a base.

I remember always being so grossed out, but also thinking it was cool in the pre-RE Engine games how transformations were so prevelant, like the disgusting scene where Marcus transforms into the queen leech, or seeing Krauser, U2, Mendez, Saddler, etc... all transforming in RE4. Even seeing the individual enemies transform and react to your gunfire in RE6 was pretty awesome I thought.

What are your thoughts on this? I guess it's probably an engine limitation that's stopping them from doing full in-depth transformations, but part of me still misses it.
