For me, itโs a resounding Yes! Despite TASM 2 being meddled by the studio, it still had glimpses of bright light thanks to Marc Webb. He is best at telling a compelling human story and thatโs exactly what he did with the TASM series and a believable human story is all I want from Andrewโs spidey.

Continuing on from the trend I set in the last Spider-Man article I wrote where i examined an alternate world; where Sam Raimi made three more Spider-Man films between 2012 and 18, this time we're going to focus on the more divisive Spider-Man franchise.
The Amazing Spider-Man was born out of Sam Raimi's decision to exit the Spider-Man series when Sony refused to allow him more time to develop the script. With Raimi's departure came the Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.
This film was received far more warmly than Spider-Man 3 despite not making as much money thanks to the Avengers and Dark Knight Rises. However it was still enough of a success that Sony greenlit at least 4 more direct sequels and 1 or 2 spinoff movies.
However TASM was cursed again at the box office thanks to Captain America: The Winter Soldier and X-Men Days of Future Past. On top of this, TASM 2 wasn't very good. Largely considered to be the weakest Spider-Man movie, it suffered from building up too many things for future films, and not focusing on being a good film in its own right. It was panned by critics and made a lot less money than Sony was expecting it to.
Sony approached Disney about Spider-Man being included in the MCU and a deal was struck. Though initially plans called for Andrew Garfield to continue as Spider-Man, the decision was made to reboot as Disney didn't want the baggage of TASM 2. Thus Tom Holland replaced Garfield and has been in 5 MCU films and will be getting his third film at the end of 2021.
But what if that didn't happen? What if TASM 2 made money and Sony never went to Disney? What if Marc Webb continued on with TASM 3?
The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (2016)
Hopefully by this time, Sony has learned their lesson and they release the movie at a point in the year not dominated by other superhero movies.
This movie would feature Andrew Garfield returning as Spider-Man and not completely over the death of Gwen Stacy. He attends grief counseling and meets Mary Jane Watson played by Shailene Woodley.
We would also be introduced to Eddie Brock though who he'd be played by is unknown. Maybe it would still be Tom Hardy.
Felicity Jones would also return as Felicia Hardy and would likely become Black Cat. Building off of her romance with Harry Osborn in the last film, I think she would team up with him against Spider-Man maybe. Or else would turn on Harry to team up with Peter.

Even though the whole story with Peterโs parents is a mess, there are redeeming factors:
