A list of puns related to "Majida El Roumi"
I lived in Beirut with my family in the late 90s and I remember a song called Ya Beirut by Majida el Roumi which Tv's played non-stop around 2000 new year's eve. I've found a lot of live and other stuff from this song but I'm looking for a music video of Ya Beirut song which Majida herself sings in streets of Beirut and I only remember at the end of the music video people gathered in a famous square of Beirut and camera zoomed out of the square and 2000 made from the crowd.
Any help would be appreciated
Hello Arabs! Welcome to the eighth instalment of The Weekly Musical Spotlight where we highlight some of the great Arabic artists with a short biography and give you a chance to share some of your favorite songs, little know facts, rare videos...etc.
Next Week: Mohammad Abdul Wahab.
My personal favorite female singer, emotional lyrics and catchy instrumentals that anyone who has experienced love can relate to. Plus she's a total MILF:
Full name is Majida El Roumi Baradhy. Daughter of Halim El Roumi, a musical icon in his own right who is credited for discovering Fairouz and introducing her to the Rahbani Brothers. She was born on December 13, 1956, in Kfarshima, Lebanon.
Majida started her musical career at a young age. Early 1970s, when she was only 16 she won a gold medal from the show "Studio El Fan" that aired on Tele Liban (Although most photo captions and videos state that she received the award in 1974 which would make her 18). Her father wasn't very pleased with the idea but eventually came around and gave her his blessings to continue a singing career. Alongside her singing career, Majida continued her education and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Arabic Literature in 1975.
In 1977 Majida married Antoine Dfouni, a businessman from Byblos, Lebanon, who also became her manager. They had two daughters: Hala and Nour. They got divorced and ended all collaboration in 2006, after disagreements which Maj

I decided to start writing about Arabic music, mostly music common in the Levant i.e. Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine (lets not fight, you know what I mean).
As you all know this area is plagued by war, and I realized many people do not know what the culture there is like after I met some westerners here.
I will start with this song by Magida El Roumi called "Kon Sadiki" or be my friend. Here are the Lyrics and how they sound in Arabic.
Song is long, as is traditional for old Arabic music, song starts at 1:30.
Here Majida sings about the stereotypical Middle-eastern man and she explains her frustration with such relationships.

My boss wants to organise a Majida El Roumi concert in Paris in 2023 or 2024.
I know she is more than famous and she has already performed there in famous halls like the Olympia, but I wonder how many people would come an who would they be. Also how do I reach more than the lebanese community.
Lately, a lot of political shows have been airing on MTV Lebanon, and El Jadeed, with different figures stating the issue in Lebanon!
The funny part is- everyone knows what's the issue in Lebanon, but hardly anyone knows, or wants to do anything about it. I'm not talking about the ex Aounis, or other opposing parties, I'm talking about legitimate people who have the capabilities to do something, but won't. All show, no action!
Aside from these shows, you never see the public figures like Singers, and Actors doing anything at all to help with everything that's been going on. The only person I've seen was Majida El Roumy post Aug 4th.
Moiun Sherrif was very horny on the streets to advocate Aoun into leadership... You don't see him much nowadays. The same goes for the rest...
Wael Airy for example! A bunch of selfish 2youra
My Monday Rant.... Please vote wisely in 2022, and remember who you listen to in the future when they all start popping up with songs in light of Lebanon, post remunification!
