Main Central Road Puns

Trash constantly gets blown onto my property. In an act of boredom I've audited everything I collected after letting it build up over a few weeks. There were 50 items in total. Here's my breakdown of what they were:

80% plastic, 4% glass, 16% paper

52% of the items were branded

14% ea for food and nicotine packaging

12% of the litter was from identifiable food companies

6% contained identifying information that could be traced back to an individual

I guess it's kind of interesting to identify what would normally be washed into our waterways. Mostly single use food and nicotine product packaging (cigarette wrappers were most prolific). Some public campaigns for picking up rubbish were founded to avoid responsibility being placed on the packaging manufacturers (e.g. Keep America Beautiful) to displace blame onto the consumers. Branded litter comprised over half of what I collected. It is a little shocking when identifying info on rubbish comes through, though - regos, receipts, letters and the like. I'm pretty keen to keep collecting this data and maybe email a couple of contributing companies once it becomes significant. Throw your shit away properly, folks.

Came across this book when it was briefly referenced by the protagonist in On the Road when he was traveling around California's central valley (I think). I looked up the book then and it sounded like a good read but I've since forgotten what it was called.

Specifically looking for trails that a Jeep can go on, not atv/utv trails.

Has anyone read books about the Silk Road, Marco Polo but something that would make a solo traveler to the Central Asian region appreciate that area of the world better?

I'm looking for something based in history, culture, Islam reflected in that area, maybe even Golden Age of Islam in that region.

Anything related would be appreciated.
