A list of puns related to "Madeline Name"
Those are our front runners for our daughter due in April. First baby. Middle name will be Frances after grandma. Last name is three syllables if that matters. Thanks!
I can finally change my first name which Iβve never liked and Iβm hesitating between Rose and Madeline
the thing is I live in France and I know people will pronounce Madeline as Mad-line half of the time which is way less pleasant to the ear :/
but both are very elegant sounding, and Rose means both the flower and βpinkβ which I love ( and itβs my favorite color lol )
Also, both arenβt very common first names ( though I know itβs making a big comeback lately, I donβt know any Rose my age, I donβt think it was very popular when I was born. Madeline just seems to be uncommon in general )

The title says it all but a little more back story. My mom passed away when I was a toddler. She was born in Portugal as Madalena and when she immigrated to the US changed her name to Madeline. Now that weβre entering the next chapter and hoping for a baby Iβm exploring names. Iβd love to honor her but not put inadvertently put a lot of pressure on my daughter to feel like she has to βcarryβ or βlive upβ to the name. Hoping for some name nerd naming magic!
Years ago, I heard somewhere that the writers of the show named the characters Louise Grant (Teal Redmann) and Madeline Lynn (Shelly Cole) after two childrenβs book characters. Specifically, Louis was named after Eloise, from the 1950βs book series by Kay Thompson, about the blonde-haired little girl living at the Plaza Hotel in NYC. And Madeline was named after Madeline, from the 1939-40s series by Ludwig Bemelmans, about the red-haired little girl living in a boarding school in Paris. It almost seems like Louise and Madeline are reflective of what the childhood characters of Eloise and Madeline couldβve been as teenagers had they attended school together in the early 2000s.
Much like the school in Madeline, both L & M attend the elite, private school Chilton, though itβs co-educational and thereβs no boarding. L is cunning and quick like Eloiseβs character, while M is more sweet and innocent like Madelineβs character. And while L doesnβt have a nanny like the real Eloise, that character is still nodded to with Paris Gellerβs nanny.
Both Eloise and Madeline are mischievous and part of an elite crowd much like L & M, as Eloise comes from money and lives at a famous hotel and Madeline also comes from money and attends a fancy boarding school (not to be confused with the live-action film where sheβs portrayed as an orphan for some reason). Both have ties to Paris, France, (like Mβs mother being obsessed with all things French), with Madeline going to school there and Eloiseβs mother living in Paris. In the show, L and M share a connection to the city in their mutual friend Paris Geller.
This could all be entirely coincidental, but to me Louise and Madeline could be a nice little tribute to two childhood books that one of the writers mightβve liked.
Joy has always felt like a placeholder... now I want to find my true name. Have a wonderful evening, all you wonderful people β€οΈ
I don't know, it just sounds more natural to me than "Mad-a-line."
Hi all - curious to know what other nicknames can be called for Madeline (-line, not -lyn). Maddie is obviously the most common one; however, would love to have something different :)
Oops, just noticed my autocorrect changed βnicknameβ to nice name in titleβ¦.πππ
TIA
i want to use the name madeline but unfortunately i have a relative with that name! im looking for unisex/masculine leaning names, and Miles is currently my top pick as well as Max and May!
Weβre due with a baby girl in October and have settled with Madeline (LINE pronunciation- not Lyn). We need some help for a middle name. We settled on Rose but I feel like itβs a very basic middle name. However, I do love the flow, name, and roses so I donβt mind it. My husband likes more classic middle names and names that are easily said in Eastern European languages. I like more modern(?) middle names- my top three would be Sage, James, and Paige. He really liked Ana (family name) but doesnβt much care for middle names since he doesnβt have one. Help please!
Based on their personalities, shouldnβt Louise and Madeline switch names with each other? Iβve always thought this π. Anyone else?
FiancΓ© and I just found out our second is a GIRL! How do you pronounce the name Madeline when seeing it spelled that way?
Edited to add - our first is a boy, Theodore. Do you think these names pair well together?
Weβre expecting a girl this summer, middle name will be Madeline. Iβm realizing that itβs a difficult name to use in the middle. I like names from across the board, the only βgenreβ I donβt care for is old fashioned/old lady names. Examples of names I like-
Marin (doesnβt sound great with Madeline) Iris Ireland (I doubt I could talk my husband into this one)
Thatβs about it right now. I would love any ideas that would fit with our middle name!
Iβm 6 months pregnant and my husband and I decided on Cassiel for baby girl. But Iβve been feeling really nostalgic and wanted to stroke my inner child (canβt believe Iβm gonna be a mom, Iβm officially an adult lol) and Iβve been watching some childhood cartoons I loved. Iβve been rewatching Madeline and for some reason Iβve just been crying and feeling very emotional. I donβt know why! Itβs just bringing me back to a more innocent and carefree time in my life.
Iβve seriously been considering changing baby girls name to Madeline. I canβt tell if itβs just my crazy hormones or what. Which one do you prefer? Cassiel or Madeline?
We've settled on Madeline as a first name but struggling with middle names!
Last name starts with S, 3 syllables, uncommon.
My initials are MAS would be cool to pass those on but not required!
Other names we liked: Emma, Amelia, Sophia
Name style: we like traditional names/spellings, open to a flower or color-inspired name (Rose came up but unsure)
I've been debating if I'm trans or cis, so I came here to see if I'd get euphoria from being referred to with female pronouns. Any contributions are greatly appreciated!
MADELINE Ignore all the voice lines(unless it helps you art better) and if you are intrested in doing some art for the game lmk I'm in need of an artis
