A list of puns related to "Macmillan Books"
ISBN 1-4039-7037-8
Today, the Multnomah County Library (Oregon) announced that they will no longer carry any Macmillan e-books. Announcement here.
There has been a lot of discussion about Macmillan's new policy limiting libraries to just one copy of new e-books for eight weeks after publication. Multnomah County is the first library I've heard about that is responding with a boycott. They have one of the largest e-book catalogs on the west coast (US).
Is this the first library to take this step?

I bought the adaptation by mistake but I was wondering if theres any actual difference in the text?
I'm sure some of you have already heard about this, but Macmillan's CEO John Sargent recently released a letter to the company's authors, illustrators, and agents saying that libraries will be limited to one copy of an e-book in the 8 weeks after its release.
This is a pretty terrible idea obviously meant to squeeze more out of the bottom line. You can read more about it here--it came to my attention via /r/brandonsanderson, specifically in relation to Stormlight Archives 4.
You can find a list of Macmillan's subsidiary publishers and their email addresses here. I recommend sending a message to whichever imprint you read the most from, telling them that you don't support the decision and that you won't be buying their books until it's reversed. (You can still buy the books if you want, this is mainly to scare them, but a boycott is always helpful too--I suspect that nothing but the bottom line will convince Sargent to overturn this.) Macmillan itself doesn't seem to have a public contact email, and I'm much more confident of any given message being read by an individual publisher than a huge conglomerate like they are.
