A list of puns related to "Lust For Life"
I recently listened to LFL and l realized the songs arenβt the issue with the album. The issue is that each song transitions poorly, as the album doesnβt have an exact them.
Many Lana fans think that Ultraviolence was some masterpiece that couldnβt be topped. When Honeymoon topped it, anything was possible. Then Lust for Life came along. Its trilling, futuristic drum sounds and muffled vocals paired with amazing features was new. Not to mention that she is happily smiling on the album cover. NFR is almost like a continuation of this maturity and happiness, but I digress. The pure genius of this album isnβt only its superior vocal effects, tear jerking melodies like on the song Love, which is up there on my top Lana songs. It isnβt only the features.
Lana revisited the sound of Born to Die with a happy mindset and hippie woke aesthetic, which isnβt my cup of tea, but it WORKED.
Now in terms of the actual music, the only songs that arenβt perfect are Lust for Life and Summer Bummer. They still are good songs, but do NOT have the same magic as a song like Heroin.
Heroin itself is enough to make my point. It is like the Ride of the LFL. It is simply beautiful and you canβt say that a song like Cruel World, with its party ugly melodies and awkward sound, tops it.
TL;DR: Everything about this album is absolutely amazing.
Edit: I forgot about In My Feelings. WHY DO PEOPLE NOT TALK ABOUT THIS SONG ITS AMAZING
I really love this album and Lana herself. Just seeing if everyone has a similar opinion of perhaps the polar opposite. This is also just my opinion!

What do you think?
I feel like it sounds more depressing than the official one.
Especially on the production side of things.
Does anyone else REALLY love this album? I feel like all I see are people ranking it their least favorite out of all her albums and I'm honestly shocked. The Lust for Life era is what made me a fan of Lana and made me listen to her albums in full for the first time ever. It has so many just amazing songs like Cherry, Love, Heroin, Groupie Love, Summer Bummer, the list goes on and on. I think when people say its not cohesive, they fail to see that the first half is more like herslef and her own love life, then the rest is more political and dreamy vibes to it. Truly love the album as a whole!
Lana once said in an interview that the closing line from Lust for Life would take us into the next album. This was before NFR came out, but I did find the connection she was talking about,
Closing line in Get Free,
> Into the blue
Closing line in Norman Fucking Rockwell,
> You make me blue. Blueeeeee
Just noticed this connection.

This isn't how I'd personally rank this album but overall I think it's a decent ranking. Tomorrow Never Came is in my personal top 5 and I'm so happy it at least made the top 5 of the game. But I'm really salty that 13 Beaches beat Get Free for the top 3.

And no, Yosemite doesn't seem to be on this album and was most likely scrapped. Same with Best American Record. Also, here's the link if you want to snoop for yourself. Was there a Urban Outfitters exclusive cover art vinyl for Lust For Life?
There's so many great songs on it. Heroin, Beautiful people beautiful problems, tomorrow never came, in my feelings, 13 beaches, love.. basically the entire album!
Did people really not like LFL or is it an unpopular opinion??
