Denis attributes this change due to his being blackmailed by the FBI.
How accurate is this portrayal? Was his rejection of independence and the nationalist movement really motivated by blackmail, or were his beliefs sincere?
I just finished reading War Against All Puerto Ricans by Nelson Denis. It was sad and frustrating but a very informative and well researched book. Because the book gives a fact based analysis of Marin rather then a subjective opinion about him, I am trying to figure out how Puerto Ricans felt about him at the time. My grandmother lived in PR during the Gag Law but hasn't said much about it so I'd like to get more info about how others felt at the time and how he is viewed by Puerto Ricans now. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks
I have a flight from Ceiba to Vieques but it isn't until 5:45pm and I'm arriving in San Juan at 2:00pm. I have a few hours to spare and I'd rather spend them in a bus than waiting around in Ceiba for my flight. I really hate that the ferry is not working for non-residents, it makes everything so much more complicated ugh!!!
