A list of puns related to "Lucky Penny"
Its specifically the scene where the old lady, the pregnant woman and the kid on crutches walk up to Barney on the train expecting him to give up his seat. Under normal circumstances sure it's the right thing to do but its also definitely not something he HAS to do.
But these ain't normal circumstances. My guy just ran a marathon, AND FINISHED IT. If I finished a marathon I would definitely want to rest my legs for a while and sit down and I feel like that is completely justified. Watching the three of them come up and judge him feels like watching a couple Karen's attack a retail clerk (something I have been more sensitive to the more horror stories are becoming common).
Maybe it's just me in which case I needed to vent, but that scene frustrates me every time. Does anyone else get frustrated by that scene?
TLDR; If you just finished a marathon, haven't you earned your seat on a subway?
TLDR: Well it took them long enough, but Fitch has finally downgraded Evergrande to Restricted Default kicking off the world's largest bankruptcy since Lehman Brothers triggered the Global Financial Crisis. Kaisa was also downgraded to RD as expected. A look at the details of the downgrade indicates investors in this dogshit debt will be lucky to recover pennies on the dollar if anything as most of the assets on their balance sheets are worth far less than the companies claim. When MOASS, precious?

Well the day is finally here. For some reason it took them 3 days, but Fitch has finally deigned to downgrade Evergrade from 'C' to 'RD' or Restricted Default after the company failed to make it's bond inerest payment that was due November 6th prior to the expiration of it's 30 day grace period. This triggers cross-default provisions in all offshore Evergrande bonds denominated in USD (~$19 billion total). Kaisa group was also downgraded to RD for the same reason.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I decided to take a look at some of the copper cards to see what's worth running and quickly noticed a huge variance. Now for some like Share the Wealth and Hazard Pay, it's okay for them to be on the low end as they're frontloaded and guaranteed. Copper Scavenger couldn't be analyzed because 1) the amount of extra copper it spawns is unknown and 2) how much extra copper you would have missed is highly variable between players.
This really left Money Grubbers and Lucky Pennies. Like many of you, I knew MG was good, and I think it's in an okay state. Luck Pennies on the other hand is so deceptively, unbelievably bad. A 35% chance of 35% more is a long run of 12.25% more. That's not a lot and in fact will on average give you less than Hazard Pay unless you find 2000 copper and your team less than Share the Wealth if you find less than 3300. To illustrate just how bad it is though, I assumed an 100% success rate and compared it to old and new MG with variable amounts of piles found and variable amounts in those piles.
Copper piles | 5 | 10 | 15 | 20 | 25 | Every 5+ |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Old MG | 75 | 275 | 600 | 1050 | 1550 | 500 |
New MG | 45 | 165 | 360 | 630 | 975 | 375 |
LP (100%)(25) | 43.75 | 87.5 | 131.25 | 175 | 218.75 | 43.75 |
LP (100%)(50) | 87.5 | 175 | 262.5 | 350 | 437.5 | 87.5 |
LP (100%)(100) | 175 | 350 | 525 | 700 | 875 | 175 |
LP (100%)(mix) | 102.08 | 204.17 | 306.25 | 408.33 | 510.42 | 102.08 |
Even if it was given ~3x value buff of always procing, it still would underperform compared to MG even when given the situations where it gets the most value relative to MG (all piles are 100 copper). Moreover, even if there's an even mix of piles, you still barely generate more copper than Share the Wealth and don't get the benefit of starting with it.
Maybe this is old news to you, but seeing just how bad this card is was really shocking. Every way you look at it, this card is terrible compared to every alternative. It is easily the worst of the copper generating cards. How it made it out in its current state is beyond me as a little bit of math would show its problems. I hope they buff or rework it soon, because right now it is at best useless and at worst a trap for new players.
Just like the title says I think they should roll the effect of Lucky Pennies into Copper Scavenger and they should make Compound Interest affect everyone on your team.
This would make Copper Scavenger a little more competitive with Money Grubbers/Share the Wealth/Hazard Pay. As Per right now Copper Scav adds a highlight and adds lilke 4 piles of copper per level. And Compound Interest affecting the entire team would make it work like share the wealth, calculating the bonus individually and giving it to each team member based on copper they had when they finished the level. Share the wealth would be better if your team had less than 1,000 copper each at level end, Compound Interest would be better if you team had more than 1,000 each at level end.
As for lucky pennies? I'd redesign that completely into giving you a random effect every time you pick up a pile of copper.
New Lucky Pennies. Every time you pick up copper you get one of the following effects:
Approx rarities:
Common: 80%
Uncommon: 12%
Rare: 5%
Very Rare: 2%
Ultra Rare 1%
I recently put copper scavenger into a build and itβs great but Iβm wondering which of these cards is better.
Lucky pennies gives me a 35% chance to find 35% extra copper when we find some
Money grubbers gives me 5 additional copper when someone finds some, up to 100
Iβm not sure if I completely understand Money grubbers either, if it caps at 100 copper per pickup or 100 bonus per level.

A Light in the Fog #224.
Especially people that live in 3rd world countries, most of them can't even afford a meal. Considering this, we're really lucky to have money to invest.
He pried the dead manβs hand open one finger at a time, revealing the penny in his palm. The very last one, for there was no money left in his possession to steal. He heaves the bag onto his back and runs.
Three blocks away, a truck is parked on a steep hill. Its parking brake fails, sending it rolling forward. Itβs night, and the normally bustling street is empty.
He stops at the intersection to catch his breath. Itβs safe to walk now. He takes two steps and notices motion out of the corner of his eye, but far too late. The truck slams into him, carrying him further and crushing him against a wall. He drops the penny.
She listens as the radio details an accident to nearby officers. An opportunity. She slaps the cameraman awake and drives to the scene, beating the police by precious few seconds. She goads the cameraman to film the manβs splattered remains, which he accomplishes very briefly before vomiting. She is annoyed but satisfied the footage and her reporting will lead to a spot on prime time. As she leaves, a glint on the ground catches her eye. The penny. She picks it up and smiles. Her lucky night.
Later, she walks down an empty street to her apartment. A man runs up behind her and grabs her purse. She resists and hits him in the nose. As he stumbles, she fumbles for the spray. He removes his gun and fires it seven times into her chest. She falls, breathless. He picks up the purse and runs.
He arrives at the house shaken. He presents the purse to his friend as proof. Finally, he will be accepted into the crew. He hands over the purseβs contents, minus one item. The penny. His friend congratulates him, and asks him to help in the basement. He goes downstairs, asking the masked workers what he could do. They need a blue bag from the bigger pile, or was it a white bag from the smaller one? He brings a bag from the smaller pile.
He can help by emptying it into the vat. He cuts the bag open and empties its contents at once. Bubbles, smoke, steam, sparks. An explosion. The shockwave bursts his eardrums and lungs, the shrapnel impales his throat, and the contents of the vat burn his skin. The penny is sent skyward with the majority of the houseβs contents.
Three hundred meters away, the penny falls gently onto the grass next to a bush.
A man passes by several hours later, a glint on the ground catching his eye. The penny. He picks it up and smiles, taking his place across the school and unpacking his binoculars. His lucky day.
