PARTY. TIME.
Don't think the problem was this intensive in the past but now, it looks like its a competition among them.
Ivana Smit was 18 years old and on top of the world. An aspiring model with a growing following. Dutch born but raised mostly by her grandparents in Malaysia, Ivana was ready, like most young women at that age, to experience the world away from her doting family.
But, on December 7, 2017 she was found dead on the 6th floor balcony of a luxury high rise apartment complex in Kuala Lumpur. Ivana had fallen 14 floors, from the 20th floor apartment of a millionaire couple, expatriates Alex and Luna Johnson.
Iβll get back to the Johnsonβs later but to return to Ivana. She was born in Holland, but sent to live with her grandparents in Kuala Lumpur when she was about 3, as her parents were travelling and needed someone to care for her over an extended period of time.
She bounced between Holland and Malaysia while growing up. But, it seems Malaysia was were her heart was. Kuala Lumpur has a vibrant modelling scene, one of the biggest in Asia. It was also the kind of place where an aspiring Instagram influencer could grow her following.
In her Instagram bio she also describes herself as a βhostessβ. Modelling being such a short lived and unreliable career β even for someone as successful as Ivana β means that girls find themselves looking for supplementary income.
This includes βhostessingβ. This entails women hanging around in public with wealthy men, who want a pretty girl on their arm while out nightclubbing, to impress their friends/business associates.
It was during this phase of her life that Ivana met the Johnsons, to whom she was introduced at a nightclub.
They were in most respects unremarkable. He was a Bitcoin investor from Atlanta, Georgia and she from Kazakstan. Together, they had a 4 year old daughter. They also liked to party.
In mid-2017 they were introduced to Ivana. Luna was especially taken with her, and the three began having regular sexual trysts. The Johnsonβs described their marriage as βprogressiveβ in a Daily Mail interview explaining their side of events, a few months after Ivanaβs death.
They met up on the evening of December 6, and spent the night club hopping. They returned to the Johnsonβs apartment after 5.30 am, and according to the Johnsons, retired to bed and had sex. At 8.30 Luna left to drop the Johnsonβs daughter at school. Ivana was asleep on the couch and her husband in bed.
... keep reading on reddit β‘So as I said my party has become pretty bad ass in the last few sessions, with my help even. I DM for 7 players and they all range from level 7 - 9 (different starting levels depending on backstory, and a character even sold their soul to become a warlock in game and I gave him the free level to do so) Now Iβm not complaining at all, I love how epic theyβve become Iβm just a bit curious if anyoneβs got any tips for me to be able to keep them on their toes? Since they are so powerful i never shy away from using big CR monsters for bosses and other fights, but not every fight is a big plot finishing boss fight. So how should I go about keeping the normal encounters interesting and engaging, or even fairly dangerous; without just simply buffing enemies health totals or AC. (Which I donβt mind doing either)
Thanks for the help fellow DMβs and players, and may the dice roll forever in your favor!
Fun Gus
Our healthcare system. Severely underrated by most people, its actually really really good and should be a proud thing of note to this country.
The way our roads and towns that are planned around cars, our road network system is actually a haven for car enthusiasts to drive around!
Speaking of cars, our national oil and gas company Petronas is and has been a prominent part of the most successful F1 team EVER. The Mercedes F1 team with Petronas teal branding has cemented itself in F1 folklore and will forever be synonymous with F1 success
Most of us are bilingual. We can easily interchange between languages and communicate effortlessly, even to the point of being able to listen to a language and reply in another language and it is perfectly acceptable for both parties! I have also personally encountered westerners responding to local viral tweets and were amazed at how we are able to mix multi languages into a coherent sentence and its understood by everyone.
Our "chill" and relaxed nature. Most of the people in this country are very laid back, you rarely see the stresses of societies such as in Japan and Korea amongst most people here, and in times of hardship this laid back culture is very beneficial.
What are yours?
The one year anniversary of GE-14 is coming up in one month. In conjunction with this anniversary, I would like to take this opportunity to conduct an opinion poll for various cabinet and shadow cabinet members as well as national political parties among r/Malaysia users.
The vast majority of the survey question is composed of 3 choices, approve, disapprove, and indifferent. Select approve if you think the subject has done a good job in their role, disapprove if you think the subject has done a bad job in their role. Alternatively, you can choose indifferent if the subject has not done enough to be judged yet, you don't know anything about the subject, or you don't even know the subject existed.
The politicians in the questionnaire are selected for this opinion poll because they are the cabinet and (ex)shadow cabinet members. Hence major opposition leader like Hadi Awang is not featured in this survey.
The political parties are chosen based on their availability in the federal election. Regional parties/coalitions like WARISAN and GPS are excluded because they do not contest in more than one state. It would be too much work for me if I include every single tiny party that contested in GE-14. Sorry, East Malaysians.
The survey will run for one week and the result of this opinion poll will be published in this sub around 9th of May(touch wood).
Thank you and happy answering.

Like title says, my party managed to transform simulacrum Dzaan in a real person at the lost spire a few sessions ago (the party's wizard spent hours on the machine, comparing notes on the Netherese technology, so I made the roll work even though it was a 78%).
I roleplayed Dzaan as a jovial young mage in his thirties with a taste for theatrics but very kind and forthcoming towards the party (since he desperately needed their help to activate the machine, even more so now that the party told him true-Dzaan was dead.)
Half the party members weren't convinced, but his willingness to share information about the spire with the party and after being questioned through a zone of truth spell, they agreed to help him.
A few sessions later, party temporarily departed from Dzaan and his (grumpy) undead bodyguard to deal with Xardarock and the dragon. I didn't run the chapters 3-4 RAW, so party only met Vellynne Harpell after killing the dragon at Termalaine as the one designed by Duvessa Shane to dispose of the Chardalyn carcass safely. Long story short: the party didn't like Vellynne.
They managed to get back Dzaan's spellbook from her, though, in exchange for information on the now empty lost spire of Netheril. (In my game, Vellynne contributed greatly to Dzaan's capture in Easthaven and asked his spellbook as a reward).
Now the PCs are talking about bringing Dzaan and Krintaas to Grimskalle and Ythryn to help them solve Auril's everlasting rime (they offered, since it would be a free ticket to the lost Netherese city and Dzaan is well aware his rivals are still wandering the Dale: he realizes traveling with the party of adventurers gives him the best chance at succeeding his mission).
For those wondering: yes, my players knew since the pyre at Easthaven that Dzaan was a red wizard of Thay and affiliated with the Arcane Brotherhood. I had a PC with the Spy secret so he and the paladin of the party didn't trust Dzaan at first... The PC wizard and sorcerer had to work around that a little.
Moreover, the party's Wizard told me last session his PC has a crush on Dzaan. Can't wait to see how Grimskalle goes.
Tl:dr: Party managed to make Dzaan simulacrum real in the lost spire of Netheril and grew attached to him. They will bring him to Grimskalle and Ythryn as help to thwart Auril's plans.
