The authentic was a surprise Christmas gift and not even on my radar. I would never again pay over $3000 for canvas or auth since discovering this wonderful world of reps. That’s like 15 reps for that price! $3000 vs $200…this is definitely a solid rep and the minor differences are so minuscule that if I didn’t have the auth side by side, I’d never be able to tell.

• Received the auth as a Christmas gift on 12/26/21, went to the boutique not even thinking of getting anything but surprised got as a gift from pops.

• Inquired from Hyper Peter on 12/29/21. He said it was OOS. I asked him to let me know when it comes back in stock.

• 1/4/22- Peter reached out and said the bag is available. Ordered and paid total 1260 CNY via Wise, $205 total with fees.

• 1/6/22- PSPs received. I know Peter charges an extra 50 CNY for pics, but I didn’t ask or pay for any because I trust just QC. It was a pleasant surprise to receive PSPs.

• 1/13/22- Received notification on my FedEx Manager a package is pending from Dubai.

• 1/18/22- Picked up from Dubai.

Here are some minor differences:

• The auth chain is smaller and shorter by about 2 cm.

• The shoulder strap embossing on the rep is deeper.

• The “N” is cut off on the shoulder strap on the rep.

• The shoulder strap stamping is cleaner on the auth.

• The rep is a tad bit boxier and a tiny bit smaller.

• The LV black tag on the rep is a shinier leather on the rep. The stamping on the back is cleaner on the rep.

• The inside tag stamping is more crisp on the auth.

• The canvas almost feels identical except for the bottom of the rep is more structured.

• The lining is identical in feel.

• The hardware is nearly identical in coloring.

• Canvas coloring is slightly different but auth canvas varies also.

Being raised a reformed Jew, I've seen my fair amount of holocaust films growing up Schindler's List, Life is Beautiful, but this film hit me, even though I knew the ending going into the film. Malle the genius that he is was able to create so much tension and love during those last 10, 15 minutes or so of the film. I think that the fact that film was from his firsthand experience as a child and he made the move late in his career when he was already an experienced filmmaker, he was able to capture the rawness of true emotion from the film. More so than just a filmmaker reading about Père Jacques in a history book. Brilliant film.

[Quality: 9.3/10]

Overall construction: At first glance, this bag is beautiful! The new creme color is gorgeous, the empreinte leather has good print indentation and it's fairly buttery. This bag is very pretty to look at.

Color: The color of the bag nailed it! Similar enough to auth to make me happy. The strap however is a shade or two too dark. Not the hugest deal, but the beginning of many variances from auth. However, I won't deduct any points here because I knew this from the factory photos.

Glazing: In terms of application and quality, the glazing was applied really well, so I won't knock off points in this section. In terms of accuracy the glazing is so, so wrong!! More on that below.

Leather: Lovely! Not dry, minor fufu smell, fairly buttery to the touch.

Interior: The auth has a suede interior and this rep does not. It has thin cloth. It's a little hard to score quality with that discrepancy so...it's fine.

Logo placement/alignment: The LV lettering on the top of the bag is a little cut off. (-0.2) The strap has the issue where there is an odd space between the tt and o of Vuitton. (-0.2) The interior embossed stamp is straight and in the correct place.

Stitching: Fine on the bag itself, but the strap's stitching is messy on each end and on one end the wraparound stitching from front

Petite malle is one of those gorgeous bags I always drool over but can't afford having more than one. I have the original petite malle I bought a few years back. I went crazy when the reverse monogram came out but couldn't justify having two bags that are so similar, plus the price tag. The rep world saved me :D

Quality - 9.5/10

For this price tag, I'm really blown away with the quality. When I ordered this bag, I didn't expect such quality because of the price. I just wanted to test out the water to see if I would reach for this bag often if I were to have it. But the leather and hardware are both very high quality. The bag feels sturdy in the hand just like my auth. The magnetic closure feels the same. Leather from the inside is soft and luxurious. I'm only taking 0.5 point off because the bag does have a glue smell that hopefully will go away after some use.

Accuracy - 7.5/10

• Overall: pretty damn impressive. I would not be able to call this out walking down the street.
• Packaging: the packaging was even more impressive. they used the same shipping box as LV. The box also has the same quality and print style, the color is a tiny bit off but pretty hard to spot. I had to get the correct lighting a few times to capture it.
• Hardware: As seen on the photos, the hardware is very much identical to my auth. It just looks newer because my auth is quite old. Only thing I spotted here is the tip of the clasp should be a tiiiiny bit more curvy (-0.5)
• Logo engraving: Looks good
• Size: this part breaks my heart a little. from the photo you can tell my auth is a tat bigger than the rep. I've done crazy research on this and because petite malle is handmade, the size does vary. However so far I haven't found a bag only with t

I've been getting into his work recently. Loved Elevator to the Gallows, but Zazie dans le Métro was incredible. It was everything I love about silent films, French film, and wordplay. It was very much what I anticipate my relationship with my niece to be once she's around that age. What are everyone's favorite Malle? What are your reasons?

I had my mind on a Petite Malle for a long time. At first I wanted the Catogram version of this bag, but after all I came to the conclusion that a classic print would fit me better and I’d surely use the bag more!

Little did I know that since this bag is made of wood, doesn’t really fit much, so rather than a bag you should use it as a WOC lol.

The bag is quite heavy and sturdy, I like the construction and the magnetic closure, it doesn’t feel flimsy at all, the inside of the bag also looks good and clean. I’m positive that both the inside and the outside trims are real leather. However, the leather quality could be a bit higher, also the way it is cut: when you open and close the bag, the leather trims do not meet seamlessly (I hope this makes sense lol)

The stitching could be neater.

Overall for this price I’m honestly satisfied with the quality of this bag, however, it has some inaccuracies that you wouldn’t find on a 5K bag

I have never seen this bag in real life so my judgement is based only on photos I’ve seen online

The biggest callout is the hardware. The Authentic has an aged yet shiny hardware. I have seen other reps with way worse hardware (very dull) for double of the price. Mine is shiny but it’s missing the aged look wich I don’t really mind, but if you’re familiar with this bag it’s a detail that you’d notice for sure.

The canvas feels great and has a nice sheen.

The three red crosses on the side are a tad too deep
