A list of puns related to "Longy School Of Music Of Bard College"
Ever since playing a bard, I've always wanted to play a more theatre/drama centred bard. I'm still working on the ideas for that homebrew, so in the meantime I've created the next best thing: A bard who dances!
Basically, during combat you're like a whirlwind, being difficult to hit and pin down. This is the reason for your Unarmoured Defense and ability to use Performance for thrown weapons.
Additionally, rather than have an instrumental spellcasting focus, you use your body and dance as that focus to ignore material components that don't have a cost.
Many adventurous bards, despite almost always being a musical performer, rarely take the time to heavily refine their talent and skill in their instrument of choice to that of a full-time musician. In dealing with fighting off monsters and living in the wilds, bards often focus on other skills by necessity to survive as adventures. They rarely become master virtuosos, only taking the time to learn how to express magic in music expertly.
The College of Virtuosity is a prestigious group who only invites those who take the time to rigorously practice and finetune their craft to the highest level of quality possible, whether it is under the instruction of a maestro or among other virtuosos. These bards are fairly rare among the continents, and they use their talents to entertain the most opulent and elite of guests, occasionally earning fame as a genius musician. Some may be given positions near royalty, becoming a personal entertainer for a king or queen. Others may travel and tour the land, guiding professional orchestras at many a concert. Sometimes, they become local legends among a town, becoming the heart of a community as they compose folk song after folk song.
More infrequently, a few of these bards take to the valiant lifestyle of an adventurer, for whatever reason. Although they do not have the versatility of other bards, their musical ability is unparalleled, infusing their magic with a sense of strength and grace like no other. Virtuosity bards have such intimate control over their music that they can often instill hope and courage in many people at once, while also intertwining it with magic to enhance its effects. Ultimately, while all bards are entertainers at heart, only those truly devoted to their music can perform with a level of raw emotion that would affect even the most cold-hearted.
When you join the College of Virtuosity at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Performance skill if you are not already proficient. If playing music for an audience, double the proficiency bonus for the Performance skill check. This may stack with Expertise.
While learning to become a master musician, you begin to practice so diligently that you instinctually memorize a large amount of varied music pieces to inspire your allies.
Beginning at 3rd level, you gain extra uses of Bardic Inspiration equal to β of your Bard level, rounded down. Creatures may have two Bardic Inspiration die, but may only use one

Ever since I started making music my main focus has always been to try and learn something new or interesting everytime I opened by DAW. Over time I could hear myself getting better and better every single day. Naturally, I felt that I should go to some type of institution that would allow me to grow even more as a music producer. As I looked further and further I found that many people just like me were going to Berklee College of Music. It seems like the perfect place to go for someone like me who is excited to make music and create every single day, but at the same time, I see these alumni complain about how they feel as if they learned nothing and wasted money that could have spent on literally anything else. So at the moment, I am torn between whether I should attend Berklee and get the experience of being around other music makers, or learn on my own from online resources, and possibly start my own studio with the money I save.
Hi there. I've studied piano for almost a year. I'm in a Beginner Music School, so I'm not having any piano class until September (summer break). I also have theory, reading, choral ensemble, and musical appreciation. I don't know how to grade my actual level; I can learn and play pretty well an Anne Magdalenne piece in less than a month. However, my sight read it's at level 0 (I've started following a sight-read method by F. Maydwell that recommends starting with mikrokosmos).
Ok, so this is the situation:
I want to enter next summer to a Pre-college program for a Bachelor's degree on Piano. The instrument audition will be on spring.
My teacher told me to start learning the J.S. Bach Invention No.3 and the F. Chopin G. Valse Brillante op.18. So, I guess her plan is to make me study those pieces for 10 months so I'll do a good work at the audition. I practice pieces dividing into small sections and working through them in a random order, and then I work on getting every section together. EDIT: I misunderstood what my teacher suggested. She suggested the GVB Op. 34 No. 2.
And the questions:
Is this a good idea? I mean, I've studied both pieces for a month and I can barely play the first 50 measures of the valse (less than a half of real speed) and with the invention it's not better.
I'm worried if this huge challenge will bring me some mid-term problems with my general technique or with my intepretation of those pieces.
I'm worried about making my progress slower because I'm giving almost all my time to those 2 hard pieces instead of learning easier pieces and doing a gradual increase of difficulty.
Should I have to worry or just enjoy this challenge? maybe give me some practice time to learn something of an easier level? I like the idea of learning those pieces, actually makes me happy, but I don't know if it's the best for my progress.
Let me tell you a little bit about me. I'm a bard with 47 health points and an AC of 15. How do I make sure that I'm not constantly being knocked unconscious? Furthermore, while I'm working on one of my concentration spells, such as Phantasmal Force or Faerie Fire, what should I normally be doing with my actions? I was hoping to somehow do reasonable damage that could be expected from someone with my stats.
I'm a DM. long story short, one of my players killed a key witness in finding a missing person. This is the second person he's killed because he doesn't want people coming back to bite him in the ass. The husband of the missing person is likely going to challenge him to a duel. Luckily they know he's powerful. Unluckily, they know he's a College of Lore Bard, not exactly the best for PVP. Xanathar's Legal. Volos too, but I'm not sure that helps anything.
I want him to know there are consequences for killing NPCs just because you don't like them. I want the threat of death, and I want it to be hard, but I want him to have the possibility to survive.
An ASMR bard, if you will.
I saw the bards college and thought it'd be cool to have my character become a bard on the side (yeah they probably can't actually sing, but maybe instruments and such?) Alas, when joining the college you just become their errand boy/girl.
