A list of puns related to "Live In Houston"
A week or so ago, I saw this NYT article (which speaks about them all living in the same neighborhood) talking about how 150 or so billionaire families are donating way more money to political candidates than the rest of America.
The article, however, did not talk about who these people were.
7 of them live in the same neighborhood country club in Houston, Texas. Let's meet them, shall we?
Jeffery Hildebrand is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Hillcorp Energy Company. He formerly worked for Exxon, and he is worth 4.5 billion dollars. He donated 50k to Romney's superPAC in 2012, 32k to the RNC in 2014 and has donated over 365k to Rick Perry.
John Nau is President and Chief Executive Officer of Silver Eagle Distributors, the largest distributor for Anheuser Busch. He is worth 1.5 billion dollars. In 2012 he gave 100k to the Texas Conservative Fund, in 2014 he donated 125k to Karl Rove's superPAC American Crossroads and in 2015 he has given 500k to Right to Rise, Jeb Bush's superPAC.
Fayez Sarofim is an Egyptian born business mogul who is the second largest shareohlder in Kinder Morgan Oil and Gas. He is worth 1.9 billion dollars. He has given generously to GOP causes in the past.
James Flores is the CEO of Freeport-McMoRan Oil and gas. In 2012, he donated 30k to Senate Republicans and in 2014 he donated 52k to John Boehner and 25k to the Senate Majority PAC. So far in 2015, he has given 250k to Jeb Bush's superPAC and 43k to John Cornyn.

So I'm in Socal and want to move to Houston for work. I almost always get the job once I land the interview but it's tough to get an interview. I'm sure it's tough in Houston too. I also tailor my resume and write cover letters about half the time. I was told to leave your CA address off of your resume but my resume says Cali all over it. I worked at a California State University and got my masters from one too. Anyway, I'm hoping for an entry-level government or county job.
In CA I have a golden rule for myself, it's every 20 applications=1 interview. I understand there are many variables, but, what has been your golden rule for Houston?
____ applications = ______ interviews in Houston
Did anybody hear this story on the news a few years ago? The employee was the Manager of one of Popeyes restaruants in Houston, Texas, and she was pregnant at the time.
What happened is that it happened on one of those Tuesday night special nights all Popeyes do, and the restaruant was packed.
Then a group of men with guns broke in, and demanded that the employees hand over EVERYTHING they had earned that day or else they would start killing everyone in the restaruant.
The manager, not wanting to put her employees the customers, herself AND her unborn baby im danger, ordered the cashiers to open up and empty out everything they had in the cashiers boxes, which came up to $400 thanks to that days sales, and gave it to the robbers who left without hurting anyone.
Even though she was thought of as a hero for doing what she did that saved lives, Popeyes not only fired her for it, and practically saying that she shouldn't have done it to begin with even though peoples lives were in danger, but are expecting HER to pay THEM back the money she gave away out of her own pockets, which shes refusing to do.
Here's the event page, it starts at 6:30!
