A list of puns related to "Little Switzerland"
Lets look at data. Credit Suisse 2021 report states Switzerland has the highest % of millionaires: 15% of population. From 7M adults it means 1Mio have more than $1MM wealth. So can they buy 250oz a year per capita? if I can, they can suuuurely too ! Not only they have means, they have vaults also. Their ZKB etf. How cool is to store your silver like 50 to 400 kilometers from your home in world-class vaults ? Within the borders of your own country?
Also, Switzerland is largely safe country, if not the safest in the world with Norway and Finland, many homes have "nuclear" bunkers. They can safely store in their own homes.
Swiss people can end LBMA and Crimex and start a whole new golden age for the world. But they choose not to. Well, they benefit from banking cartel also. But since PMs industry is also strong there - Swiss wont lose as much as UK or France.
In other post i wrote than Japanese could easily buy 1.35B oz a year. Add Switzerland and we have a cool scenario.
I really enjoyed this piece about Little Switzerlands throughout the world. A fun study of how Switzerland has been perceived in the outside world in the 18th and 19th centuries.
In Lebanon where I am living, food prices have gone up by over 700 percent from 2020 prices, while, in Sri Lanka, where my GF lives, food prices were relatively stable, only increasing by a very little 63%.
I can't even imagine life in a ultra - wealthy developed country where the government actually cares about citizens and helps. So people living in those countries, how is it like?
(I'm planning to live my life between Lebanon and Sri Lankan and not migrate to a developed country)
Edit: Spelling
Don't sleep on Little Switzerland! I got more runs in and more vert than I did at Powderhorn, Buck Hill, Nordic, and Powder Ridge. Was it because of the tow-rope that's WAY faster than the chair? Or was it because shorter runs than all the aforementioned?! That's for you to find out! I liked the uniqueness of the hill where you could ski the north and south sides of the 'mountain,' which allowed you to jump back and forth based on warming spring conditions in the sun. Throughout the day, the 2 sides varied quite a bit. Cheers to my fellow Wisconsinites. Tell your folks I says hi and watch out for deers. Go Pack.

Switzerland (my home country) projects an image of idyllic landscapes with majestic mountains and beautiful lakes, with pretty historic cities, chocolate and watches.
But truth to be told, it is a ruthless capitalist country, that harbors large corporations that avoid paying taxes in their respective countries. We have cantons (like US states) that push that race to the bottom so much, that they have to close public hospitals and schools just to reduce the taxes on large corporations further.
Switzerland is the home of companies like NestlΓ© and Glencore, that devastated other countries environment and exploit the people in these countries. This year, the swiss people voted on a peopleβs initiative that would enforce basic human rights laws (like no forced (child) labor) on these mega corporations and their subsidiaries, we voted no.
We pride ourselves to be this humanitarian country, with a long tradition in helping refugees like the Tibet exiles. Nowadays we would never mention Tibet or Xinjiang, in order not to upset trades with China.
I just wish that the world would see Switzerland for the country it really is. I would hope that the shame would open my peopleβs eyes and that we therefore would stop exploiting other countries so ruthlessly.
I enjoyed this article on Little Switzerlandβs a bunch. Especially the study of how appreciation for a place becomes kitsch.
