Remember the attempted detonation of the explosive device on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 on Christmas day? The alleged terrorist, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, studied in the same department at university as I did. I was in the year above him, but since our department was very small, and close-knit, you could say that I was within meters of an international terrorist every day, for years, without knowing it.
I spoke with the guy maybe twice or three times, all in all, and didn't know him personally, but a couple of my friends from the department did know him somewhat (he was quiet), and even shared many lectures with him.
I can verify this by providing a moderator with my university transcript, indicating the institution at which I studied, the degree I have, and when I completed it. This will match publicly known data about where and what Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab studied, although it'll show that I was in the year above him.
AMA anything about the course, the university, the department, the halls of residence where he likely lived in his first year, the other students on the course, what the course covered, the ethos of the university we studied at (University College London) et cetera.
Note that this is a throwaway, and that I won't reveal anything that relates to my identity.
