Hey guys, if you are unfamiliar with me, I write stuff (guides/reviews) for r/discgolf and for the most part people seem to like them. If you are one of those people who do, you can follow my username so my posts show up in your feed. I'm *almost* at 100 followers (85), so you can help get me there. My other guides are here and my reviews are over here. The last guide (Defunct Brands guide) went over pretty well, and now the only logical thing to do is write a guide for the active disc manufacturers.
So... That's what were going to today!
Well, sorta. We are at a critical point in disc golf where there are MORE ACTIVE manufacturers than defunct manufacturers. Also, I can dig up more info about these active manufacturers because they are you know, active. So that means that their little blurb is not really going to be that little. So I decided to split this guide up into alphabetical sections and release it over a longer period of time.
How I got my info:
PDGA.com. Just like last time, I am only going to look at brands who have a PDGA approved disc by (2, 28, 2021). Essentially I am going to look at the relative compliment of the brands that were included last time. For you non math people, that means I am going to look at all the other brands that were not in last time.
Forums and reviews from online disc stores. A good way to see how a brand is doing is by examining their public reception on the internet.
Their website/social media.
This is what makes this guide hopefully unique. Almost every disc manufacturer has a little "Contact Us" thingy on the bottom of their webpage. So, I decided to contact every brand I was unfamiliar with the following message:
Hello there,
My name is Isaac and I write content for r/discgolf. I am curious about your brand and wonder if you can answer the following questions for me so I can copy/paste your reply into a guide I am going to write. Essentially, I am making a quick guide for every active disc golf manufacturer. Think of it as a sales pitch to a few hundred readers who may be interested in buying your discs.

I have read all of the Big Nate books at least 10 times and I'm absolutely obsessed with them. The latest book, which is a novel and not a collection of strips from a newspaper, was released in 2016 and before that was released once a year and after that simply stopped. I can't find out if it was cancelled or Lincoln Peirce (the maker of Big Nate) is working on another instalment but is taking a long time or some other reason. Any information would be appreciated

Go post NSFW jokes somewhere else. If I can't tell my kids this joke, then it is not a DAD JOKE.
If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.
Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???
Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.
Thank you,
A Dad.
So far nobody has given me a straight answer

I am currently in the hospital. I had a back operation yesterday. The surgical nurse came in my room and started asking questions about my back. She asked me if I had any falls during the last year. I responded just one. It was after summer.
She laughed and said in 20 years of doing this she never was told that joke.

This summer, /u/capt_dan and I decided to try the White Mountain Direttissima: climbing all 48 4000' NH peaks in one continuous hike. We were both looking for a trip where we could push ourselves and finish in 8-9 days. Also didnβt want to resupply for COVID reasons. The direttissima fit the bill, with tons of climbing and no town stops. It was simultaneously a blast and the hardest hiking Iβve ever done.
(I know that this trip report is super long and super late, so thanks for reading!)
Where: White Mountains, New Hampshire
When: July 18th - 27th, 2020
Distance: 223 miles, ~ 76,000 feet of elevation gain
Conditions: We were lucky with weather. Mostly clear skies, temps between 40 and 80, and only one day of rain.
Gear Lists: Bill: https://lighterpack.com/r/onspp2 Dan: https://www.trailpost.com/packs/3136
Pre-Trip Information: Iβd only hiked the AT through the Whites and Dan had never been up there before, so we didnβt know about trail conditions before the hike. We looked at a lot of direttissima / White Mountain trip reports (Arlette Laan, Andrew Drummond, Philip Werner) and cooked up a map with our days of hiking and possible campsites laid out. Once we started, though, we realized that weβd been too optimistic. Hereβs our final route: https://caltopo.com/m/QDS8.
Training: Since we knew the hiking would be tough, we both trained beforehand. Problem: we were training in NYC, which is super flat. I was walking 8-10 miles a day with a 20lb pack and climbing stairs; Dan was running 70ish miles a week with a lot of climbing on bridges. This training was totally insufficient for the mileage / climbing we wanted to do, but we made it work by hiking long days.

Day 1 - Beaver Brook Trailhead >> Cannon Mountain (19 miles, +9,270 ft, 4/48)
Peaks: Moosilauke, South Kinsman, North Kinsman, Cannon
We drove up to the Beaver Brook Trailhead by Moosilauke on Friday night, wanting to get an early start on Saturday. It was 10:30 by the time we got there, so we camped in the parking lot: Dan slept in the car while I cowboyed by the outhouse.
Woke up around 5:00, feeling clammy from condensation. As we packed, a car pulled up at the trailhead. Two guys got out, pulled on fully-loaded packs (a KS 50 and a ZPacks something or other), and imme

Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for March 30, 2021 - GoComics
Yeah. Mr. Pierce, no one (not even a desperate shipper like me) is gonna fall for this. IDK what you guys will think of it, but I am not optimistic.
EDIT: Well he gave up. He didn't even make some jokes. He just went back to the same old stuff. It's just disappointing to see a strip that used to be so funny just... Not try anymore.
The Bushes
Well, toucan play at that game.

Had to ground him until he could conduct himself properly.
I want to talk about my father and the wonderful influence he has had on my life,' he told the audience. 'He is a shining example of parenthood, and I love him more than words could ever do justice.'
At this point he seemed to struggle for words. After a pause, he looked up with a sly grin and said, 'Sorry, but it's really hard to read my fatherβs handwriting.'

They also play roles in Lord of the Rings.
I guess that makes them the Tolkien white guys.
She said apple-lutely
This happened a few years ago when my son was 6ish. When my kids hurt themselves and it doesnβt look serious I always do the βwe might have to amputate that bruised handβ shtick with them. Iβve done it enough that they now roll their eyes.
So, my son got hit lightly in the face with a rubber ball. It wasnβt a hard hit and I could tell he was more upset by the shock of it rather than the pain. So I say βlooks like we will have to amputate your nose.β To which he replies βthen how will I smell?β And I say βterrible!β
It was my greatest dad joke ever. I felt like I could retire after that.

Keep in mind, my son is 4 years old, so everything is an original to him.
I had to work late into the evening yesterday, and he was just going to bed when I got home. I had left home for the office nearly 14 hours prior, had a long day, lots of meetings, traffic, etc.
When I walked through the door, I was exhausted, run down, and starving. My wife hugged me and asked how my day was, and I replied, "Done. It was a good day, but has got me exhausted. I just want to grab a bite and go to bed. I'm hungry."
From my son's bedroom, I hear him shout, "Hi Hungry! Nice to meet you!"
Not only did it make me laugh, but I completely forgot about how hungry and tired I was. I went to his bedroom, and we laughed together about it. It was exactly what I needed.
Edit: Thanks for all the awards, kind strangers! I'll let my son know y'all enjoyed his joke too!
I heard parents named their children lance a lot.
First post please don't kill me
