In the winter of 2020, the remains of a young girl were found in the vicinity of a rest stop in rural Lincoln County, Oregon, at the H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor. Investigators estimated her to be between six and a half and ten years of age but they were unable to immediately identify her. She was described as approximately 3'10" to 4'6" with long dark hair. After all immediate leads turned up empty, investigators turned to Parabon NanoLabs, a genetic genealogy company to find the nearest relatives of the girl in hopes of identifying her. They also released a composite based on DNA information, depicting the child with hazel eyes and dark brown hair. Today, the young girl was identified as Haley-Mae Coblentz, a nine year old girl. Her mother and an associate/partner of her mother were arrested on charges of aggravated murder.

On December 10, 2020, a person was walking near a rest stop along the H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor in Lincoln City, a heavily wooded state park. That individual happened upon a duffel bag — with the remains of a child hidden inside of it.
The level of decomposition indicated the child had been dead for 30-60 days at the time, according to authorities. DNA analysis later revealed it was a female child between the ages of 7-9.
Now, just under a year later, the child has been identified as 9-year-old Haley Mae Coblentz.
Two women — the girl’s mother and her mother’s girlfriend — have been arrested for aggravated murder.

Officials say Haley was not reported missing at the time of her death. OSP did not give details about the manner of her death.
This Tuesday, OSP found Haley’s mother and mother’s girlfriend, 29-year-old Shawna Browning and 34-year-old Lauren Harrison, in Detroit, Michigan with the help of the FBI. Authorities say Browning and Harrison were arrested after investigators served a search warrant on their car and hotel room.
Both women are now lodged in detention facilities in Michigan on aggravated murder charges. They are being held without bail. “

On December 10, 2020, the remains of a child aged 6-10 were found by a motorist near a rest area in Van Duzer State Park, Oregon. The remains were located along a bank of the Salmon River, about 100 yards from the rest area, and it is not clear if she was placed at the site or floated to the spot. She was estimated to have been deceased for at least a month. Genetic phenotyping revealed that she was mostly of Caucasian decent, with some Central American heritage. She was wearing a pull-up diaper when found. No other details about her clothing have been released, although police say she was found fully clothed. The police have also withheld any details about the cause and manner of death, if any could be determined.
Theories:
Given the estimated age range, I think it's very odd that she was still in diapers at the time of her death. I strongly suspect she may have been developmentally disabled, and may not have been attending school on a typical schedule. However, the Parabon Nanolabs pheonotype does not seem to have found evidence of a genetic condition, although police may be withholding that information. (EDIT: I definitely agree with all the people saying this could be a normal bedwetting issue and my interpretation is far from the only explanation!)
The rest area she was found near is in a very heavily wooded area, but the rest stop is actually fairly popular. Oregon park authorities estimate that half a million visitors stop there each year, and the highway itself is part of the Forest State Scenic Corridor and is well-traveled itself.
