Randle said early in the season last year (Think he said December) he was at a dinner "down and going through it" and at the dinner was Worldwide Wes, Leon Rose, Kenny Payne, his agent, and Elfrid Payton (not joking lol). He vented basically everything he was feeling at the time to them about what he was down about mentally and said Wes "really took it to heart".

4-5 months later Wes/Rose are hired by the team and Kenny comes in a few months after. Really interesting and I wonder how long Rose/Wes were involved with the team even unofficially. He said Payne was only there because Kentucky were in town that night playing someone.

Hey /r/MLS, as some of you may have remembered, I began a project last summer where in a made-up universal, each U.S. state (or for you folks in KY, MA, PA, and VA... commonwealth) had their own state soccer team.

Since then, I decided to wait until the MLS off-season to begin the project again, and to finish it! So to get everyone up to speed, I created a list of 23 players for each U.S. state. Some states, such as Texas, California, New Jersey, and New York, it was easy to fill out squads the point where I had to make tough cuts to players. Other states, such as Alaska, Wyoming, and Arkansas, it became extremely difficult to get a formidable squad together. After I name the starting XIs, I then give a "CONCACAF equivalent" to where this state would finish in CONCACAF qualification. Some states would likely play in the Octagonal, while others would be struggling to be relevant in CONCACAF Nations League C.

Finally, I decided to add the following parameters for a player to be eligible for selection for a specific state team:

• Be born in the said state OR:
• Have a parent or grandparent born in the said state OR:
• Live in the said state for AT LEAST six months

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

recently i started check again some of the old matrix movies, and decided to check some of the games, i just read a recap of the story of matrix online. i started playing this game, i play the pc version, i was really amazed with the variety in the game play, from offering a gameplay similar to max payne, to a cqc similar to the one mgs v, and some car chases,

it gives you an expectation on was is coming after that, what new crazy ideas is gonna to pull, and in the sense of franchise like the matrix, fit perfectly.

the story of the game is a side story of matrix 2, were you can play as niobe or ghost. this two characters because they are partners, so their story is told in a similar fashion to resident evil 2. were you play as leon or claire and after you play as both you can see the entire story. but unfortunately like resident evil 2 it recycles some sections that you do as both characters.

one aspect i really enjoy about the game is that it manages to offer the style of the movies when you dodge bullets, run on walls while you shoot, and finish your enemies with a kick to the face.

but everything is not perfect, because the game feels like it tried to be a console game first and the pc port was an after thought. aiming is just bad, is more like a proximity auto aim, and only when you press the focus button you character gets better at shooting it haves the weirdest aim, aiming with the number 4, and also you changes weapons way to slow. and when you run out of bullets of a weapon, you don't change to the next weapon, but to your punches instead ,using focus is fun because your punches have more style, dogging is way more powerful, and you get slow motion. so you could get addicted to press that button, because the gameplay immediately goes a level above. another aspect worth pointing at is the use of the original actors for the game, is not just a bunch of clips of the movies, but completely new scenes. not made in cgi. also the game is short but if you really want you can play the campaign with the other character or play again but with cheat codes, so you can overuse the focus and have a blast with the game.

Alright, all these lockdowns and covid variants have finally caught up with me (mentally), but my little pet project is done. I’ve been thinking: why do I like some games more than the others? Why Half-Life and not, let’s say, Silent Hill Downpour? There had to be a secret or a formula that glues you to your screen in the first case and makes you yawn in the second. Then I learned about the so called “40 Second Rule” that says:

> Every forty seconds they should see something and focus on it, like a pack of deer or some opponents, some NPCs wondering about. So we have our rule of 40 seconds.

I watched one of the HL2 walkthroughs on YouTube and, as it turns out, HL2 actually follows that rule (here’s a proof). So the next question was: “Can you describe a videogame level as a list of gameplay moments that go one after the other often enough to create a feeling of perpetual novelty?”
I believe you can. I’ve discovered a list of 45 Gameplay Bits HL2 (and other all-time classics) uses to keep things fresh and engaging all the way through. Check this out:

1. Tutorial – introduce your new gameplay mechanics In the clearest way possible
2. Story Time – this is where you introduce your characters, the plot, drama, the world, your state-of-the-art facial animations and so on.
3. Move Forward/Trail – not much to say here. Move along.
4. Combat. Kill baddies
5. Loop/Spiral – loop is where you end up in the same spot in the end after completing a task. Spiral is when you end up near the staring point. Example of a loop – HL2: Lost Coast. Another example can be found in “Direct Intervention” chapter from Half-Life 2: Episode 1. HL2 Downfall: 1:55 and then 7:15. A zombie creates a path for you.
6. Puzzle/System – In HL2:Episode 2 (“Riding Shotgun”) where you have to turn on electricity in the basement by plugging a cable into the outlets but when you do it you end up stuck so you have to find another cable and redo the puzzle.
7. New Mechanic – like Gravity-Gun in HL2 or Time Gauntlet from TitanFall 2.
8. Unique, One-Time Set Piece – the crane from HL2, the core from HL2:EP1, Effect and Cause from TitanFall 2, The Fish from Resident Evil 4, Robot Arms from Final Fantasy 7 Remake. They show up once, leave a mark and that’s it.
