Bastards in Film

You may have just learned that Kenneth Branagh played Reinhard Heydrich in the 2001 film Conspiracy. Did you know that the same movie had Adolph Eichmann played by Stanley Tucci? Or the cocksection who wrote the Nuremberg "Blood and Honor" laws was played by Colin Firth? More than that, did you know the Blond Beast was also the subject of the movies Anthropoid (2016), Operation Daybreak (1975), and Hangmen Also Die! (1943)? Did you know that SO MANY of our favorite bastards have been featured in film?

Here's a list of my favorite Bastard-related dramatizations. (Bastardizations?). Feel free to add in the comments, I'm sure I've missed tons.

...oh and if you watch no others, watch the miniseries Reilly: Ace Of Spies. The first season stars Leo McKern as Basil Zaharoff and Sam Neil as the Jewish spy who James Bond was based on... while Season 2's main characters are Lenin and Dzerzhinsky AND IT SLAPS SO HARD.

HITLER. There are more movies about this asshole than I care to count. But the holy canon is obviously [Downfall](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downfall_\(2004_film\)) (2004), a sad story about how untreated syphilis makes you bad at Avalon Hill games, and [Jojo Rabbit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jojo_Rabbit) (2019), where he is played by an effeminate brown jew which would have caused my grandmother to lmao in yiddish in a way I find very pleasing.

STALIN: [The Death Of Stalin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Death_of_Stalin) (2017) by Armando Ianucci - a comedy, it might capture an element of the Soviet gerontocracy which Cold War demonization quite overlooked. I might also recommend the surviving portions of Sergei Eisenstein's [Ivan the Terrible](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_the_Terrible_\(1944_film\)), which was indirectly about Stalin, which, unfortunately, Stalin eventually noticed.

SADDAM HUSSEIN: [House of Saddam](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Saddam), an excellent multipart miniseries; [South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Park:_Bigger,_Longer_%26_Uncut), which is canon.

GRISELDA BLANCO: [Cocaine Godmother](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine_Godmother) (2017), starring Catherine Zeta-Jones

LEOPOLD II: [Oh my fucking god.](https://deadline.com/2019/11/ben-affleck-direct-congo-plunder-tale-king-leopolds-ghos

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Who is your favorite and least favorite #2?

I like the 2nd #2 Leo McKern in The Chimes of Big Ben, his laugh was great. Didn't like the mean #2 in Hammer into Anvil tho. A Hammer and Anvil is also a military tactic used by two primary forces to pin down an enemy, and the other to smash or defeat the opponent with an encirclement maneuver. Used post WWII in the 50's by the Communist Insurgency in South Korea.

Can somebody please help me get the FotF radio theatre Les misΓ©rables full cast

Hello

Can somebody please help me get the full cast for the Focus on the Family Radio Theatre version of Les misΓ©rables?

If anybody can find any of the CD release liner notes online and type them in a comment so I can complete an article that would be great.

Or if you like, you can add them yourself to this page:

https://radiotheatre.fandom.com/wiki/Les_Mis%C3%A9rables

I found most of the main characters, but there are supposed to be more than 37 actors listed in the credits at the end of the radio drama, such as Robert Benfield, Nick Burnell, Paul Ewing, Stash Kirkbride, Joan Moon and several others.

here are the cast members I have so far:

Brian Blessed as Jean Valjean

  • Geoffrey Palmer as Inspector Javert
  • Tony Robinson as Thenardier
  • Toyah Willcox as Fantine
  • Leo McKern as M. Gillenormand
  • Timothy West as The Bishop of Digne
  • Orlando Seale as Marius
  • Gina Beck as Cosette

Thanks for your help.

PS, I won't accept any comments about who FotF the organization are as a whole because I don't care for the purposes of this post.

Dropped my best ever dad joke & no one was around to hear it

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies πŸ˜‚

These aren't dad jokes...

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.

This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.

If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.

Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
