The idol acting is always kind controversial topic, especially among k-dramas fans. But how exactly happened that korean idols started to act ?
In the 90s and early 2000s while it occured that singers also acted in dramas or films (like Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Jung Hyun) in case of idol groups it was not really a thing. The reason behind it was probably that such solo activities of groups members took more risks than gains for companies. Industry was still immature. Companies created groups kind randomly, it was good thing if group had few months of training and preparations before debut. Their business strategy was: small investition and big return (if theyβre lucky and group become popular). Really popular groups became well known by general public because music shows had much better ratings than today. Contracts were shorter (mostly 5 years). Investing in individual career of idol could end up with him/her leaving group to pursuit it. Another thing that productions companies could be not so interested in casting idols because of their busy schedule. They could just cast popular model or runner up of Miss Korea pegeant who could completely focus on filming. Kind exception were films Seventeen (1998) with all Sechs Kies members (Iβm not sure if it was successful because of lack information in english) and Age of peace (2000) with H.O.T. and singer Dana ( kind disaster) and Emergency Act 19 (2002) which featured many kpop groups ( very criticised by critics) . But they were made firstly to promote groups and not to develop their acting career.
Everything started to change with the end of first generation. Members of groups which disbanded (S.E.S., 2002), went on never ending hiatus (Fin.K.L, 2003) or changed company (Shinhwa, 2003 and g.o.d., 2004) began to pursuit individual career including acting. Among them the most outstanding career has [Eugene](h

The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.
Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.
The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:
"What's sarong with that?"
I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).
His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.
--Edit-- I appreciate the condolences. I'm doing well and the worst is behind me and my family. But thanks :)
--Edit-- Massive thanks for all the awards and kind words. And the puns! Love 'em.

>Name : Royal Secret Agent (μνμ΄μ¬: μ‘°μ λΉλ°μμ¬λ¨)
>
>On Air Date : December 21, 2020 - February 9, 2021
>
>Actors : Kim Myungsoo (L), Kwon Nara, Lee Yikyung, Lee Taehwan
>
>Review : Royal Secret Agent is a historical, detective comedy set near the end of the Joseon era. It follows Song Yigyeom, the top scorer of the state examination who is caught gambling and becomes the royal secret agent (essentially, a detective to investigate corrupt practices). He investigates these cases with Hong Dain, a woman investigator with a secret, and his lovable servant, Park Chunsam.
>
>I initially started this drama out of loyalty to Myungsoo as an Inspirit, but I was a little surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Then again, I do enjoy both historical dramas and detective dramas. I wasnβt aware that it was a comedy at first, and I donβt tend to do well with comedy but this drama was able to be lighthearted (even while thereβs murder) without coming off as too cheesy. Thereβs a bit of a romance aspect to the story, but itβs rather subtle and steadily builds over the course of the drama without being too suffocating.
>
>There is a central focus to the plot, but every couple of episodes or so focuses on a different case that the royal secret agent needs to solve to put the pieces together. Since thereβs always a new minor antagonist, with new twists along the way, the drama never really felt like it dragged. Itβs an easy watch for people who arenβt looking to think too much like with a non-comedic detective story, but who want just enough action for you to feel invested in the plot.
>
>Note on 10 : Iβd give it a 8/10. There wasnβt anything about any of the characters or the plot that bothered me. No one was overly flawed or overly perfect, and no one felt like a weird, over-the-top character archetype. The plot made sense and followed well enough, although there were some plot points that didnβt have satisfactory endings/explanations. The acting isnβt spectacular, but itβs not unwatchable.

I would have a daughter
But Bill kept the Windows
True story; it even happened last night. My 5-year-old son walks up behind me and out of the blue says, "hey."
I turn to him and say, "yeah, kiddo? What's up?"
He responds, "it's dead grass."
I'm really confused and trying to figure out what's wrong and what he wants from me. "What? There's dead grass? What's wrong with that?"
.
.
.
He says, totally straight-faced, "hay is dead grass," and runs off.
And then you will all be sorry.
No it doesn't.
Now itβs syncing.
He replied, "Well, stop going to those places then!"
I will find you. You have my Word.
She said how do you know he was headed to work?
