The Kuban Cossack Republic, or 'Кубанская Казачья Pеспублика', is a state inhabiting an area composing much of Southern Russia, composing much of what remains of the territories of the Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais. The origins of the republic lay with the Kuban Cossacks, one of the largest Cossack groupings in late 20th and early 21st Century Russia.
In the early 21st Century the Russian Government allowed the Kuban Cossack Host to establish an unarmed paramilitary police force to assist in the maintenance of law and order in Russia's often chaotic southern regions, this paramilitary police force turned out to be the saving grace for the Kuban Cossacks, as while the calamities that afflicted the world in the 21st century caused the downfall of the Russian Federation, the Kuban Cossacks, with their tight-knit community and traditions of military service and self-reliance were able to maintain order in the areas to the south and west of the Kuban River, even as most of the river itself disappeared into the new inland sea.
The unarmed nature of the Kuban Cossack's paramilitary did not last long once the central government disappeared from the scene, with the paramilitary absorbing troops and equipment from disintegrating units of the Russian Army into itself. With a swelling military and peace-keeping force to ensure stability in the region a political order, severed from the then-current order in Russia was able to take shape, centered around a semi-presidential and secular republic dominated by Cossacks, cultural developments in the region also mean that most residents of the region no longer thought of themse

The Ottoman Empire has noticed that you now share a land border with us. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to establish formal diplomatic relations. We wish to exchange embassies as well as discuss potential for additional trade. We have heard that your great republic is an agricultural paradise boasting a large excess of food. We would like to know if it is possible to sign an agreement to import Kuban food to the empire.
