Here are my quick takes on every Miata gen. Pictures are not my own but will give you an idea of what they looked like.

Quick refresher NA: 90-96 | NB: 99-05 | NC: 06-15 | ND: 16-

1992 NA Miata (1.6L)

Purest form of the NA. The example I owned was low miles, well cared for, and came with a hard top. It was an absolute joy to drive and look at. No other Miata has replicated the feelings this car inspired. The 30-year-old suspension wallowed through the corners, but you don’t care. The gear shifter gives a satisfying click, the small 1.6L zings to redline, the flat dash gives you an amazing view at the road.

Everything about this car was pure, simple, and unadulterated. This is the one I regret selling the most. I’ve driven other higher mileage examples and they’re just not the same, driving a well-kept, low mile NA is the closest thing we have to a time machine.

1995 NA Miata (1.8L)

Like the NA6 but want a chance at keeping up with modern traffic? Would you enjoy having more than 5 lb-ft of torque? The 1.8L Miata is for you (94-97). Everything that’s good about the NA6 is present here, but you’ve got an engine with a little bit more bark to it. This is the NA I currently own. I do miss how much the 1.6L begged you to rev it out, but the 1.8L feels much more usable in Texas traffic.

Pros:

• No other generation can replicate the feelings this car inspires while driving around. This is the quintessential 90s roadster; no other car will have this image.
• Simple, pure, without being overly taxing to drive. There are few cars that provide this experience at this price point. The driving experience is worth far more than what these sell for.
• Cheap parts, easy to work on. Well cared for examples crack 300-400k miles.

Cons:

• I have owned four NA Miata's and every single one has leaked oil from somewhere. Have had less oil leaks in much older German vehicles.
• Complete death trap in modern traffic. Better hope and pray that F-250 isn’t on their phone, because it WILL kill you in an accident. Lost two members of our local group to accidents last year, these cars are very unsafe.
• Not the best platform to go fast with. Chassis is a wet noodle and turbocharged examples just don’t drive that great (imo). If you want power, there’s better platforms.

• Looks amazing, makes you feel am

I like names that were used in the past, but are uncommon today, and sound “sweet.” Any suggestions?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Sellenia shook her head, “They couldn’t just do that to you, Aunt Rezza.”

Rezzolina sipped from her glass, swirling the liquor inside around and watching it slowly coat and then crawl back into the center. “They did,” Rezzolina retorted.

Issla’s voice rang out from the radio near Rezzolina, “Control Radar is showing clear. We have all passengers locked and are ready for launch.”

Rezzolina pressed the radio’s call button, “Don’t let me stop you. Good luck.”

“Launch initiating,” Issla announced.

Sellenia smiled, moving to the window near the control as she watched the shuttle’s engines ignite.

The clouds above grew slightly less dark, a tiny bit of sunlight filtering through as the Shuttle’s engines thrust the entire ship forward towards the take-off ramp.

“Come on, come on…” Sellenia whispered as the Shuttle launched up the ramp and into the air. It swiftly pierced the cloud cover and vanished into the air. “...Will we know if they made it?!”

Rezzolina shook her head, “Communications through that ash cloud are poor, at best. The gap we were monitoring was heading towards us for hours and we missed a few windows before. Who knows when the next will come or if it will be enough.”

Sellenia closed her eyes, “I’m hoping it is.”

“Hope all you want on one hand,” Rezzolina stood, unsteady as she did so, “Shit on the other hand. Tell me which one is more real.”

“Aunt Rezza…” Sellenia frowned, “What is wrong-?”

My daughter, Chewbecca, not so much.

I've been wondering about something since watching all of season 3. So in season 2 when Matthew and Diana leave Jack with Henry Percy, did the books explain how Henry kept Jack and 1590s Matthew apart. In the show Matthew and Diana only tell Kit about the time walking. It's implied that Walter Raleigh knows, at least when Matthew tells Raleigh that he is going to have to tell the Queen the truth. So I guess you could suppose that he also told Henry. I just find it interesting that if Jack was running around down at the docks looking for Matthew and Diana wouldn't it be natural that he would even go back to the house looking for them and if Jack did go back to the house and 1590s Matthew was there he would have no idea who Jack was. Does the book address this at all?
