A list of puns related to "Kingdom Of The Burgundians"
I got the BI with all the low countries as France rather late, and they are now experiencing the dutch revolt i think (there are so many rebels I have to put down)
Is it stille possible to inherit Burgundy now, even if they are in the middle of a disaster?
So obviously we don't know all that much about Burgundy for sure, other than that it's a totalitarian, racist hellhole in which almost everyone is in labour camps while Himmler secretly works on his evil plot. But from what I've read, I am left with a burning question; who on earth is helping to prop up these regimes?
In Burgundy proper, from what I can gather, all the non-Aryans are treated like absolute trash, so obviously none of them are likely to be happy with the system. But I've also heard that the Aryans themselves are organised extremely rigidly, just with, I dunno, a better diet? It therefore stands to reason that only the most psychotic and dedicated Aryans would be keen to sign on to such a system. Which is what makes me wonder; how can Himmler possibly have enough support to maintain control of his insane state? I'm aware the SS was a fairly large organisation OTL, but not only would I assume that every last one of them can't possibly be in Burgundy at once (we know Heydrich is still in Germany, right?), but I would imagine that not every last person that joined the SS OTL (some of which weren't even German) would find the idea of a BurgSys lifestyle appealing.
And then of course there's Heydrich, who pops up in the middle of the German Civil War promising his little corner of Germany a life of even greater totalitarianism than they've ever experienced. Why would anybody in his territories, besides the most insane of them, be keen to support him? I would think he would face resistance from his own civilians, let alone the other German factions. I know I saw a few people claim he can't win the civil war unless the player intervenes, but whether that's necessarily true or not, it's a wonder his faction occurs at all, given how unappealing it would be to all but his psychotic SS supporters.
So in a nutshell, the question is who the ever loving hell is propping up Burgundy and Heydrich's Germany? Is Himmler holding it all together with his latent Aryan psychic abilities?
As the title says, all I know is its himmlers wacky system.
Burgundy is a big country but they have only a limited number of SS enforcers ( 100k I believe). How do they enforce this totalitarian system in rural areas?
Like for a nation outside of the Unity pakt.
I'm playing a game as Castile and Burgundy is one of the strongest countries in Western Europe apart from Great Britain. They're allied with France so I'm kind of just waiting around for them to get inherited and then I'll invade France. But now it's the 17th century and they're still doing just fine
Is it basically farmers who like thermonuclear human extinction as implied by this post
I've tried a million different things ... nothing ever sticks ... how do you exist like this. How do you live a life and feel comfortable watching everyone else be great at something, and you have nothing?
edit: yes I know what the complete phrase is ... ay caramba
Hey,
Sorry if this post is supposed to be in the General questions thread. I just thought it was very specific and could be discussed in detail.
Recently I played France again and I read somewhere that it is wise to force the BI while waiting for AE to tick down. I conquered Brittany, my cores, and Avignon in 1450 so thought it would be wise to force the BI. It trigged quite quickly, but I believe Spain (my ally) received even more provinces than I did https://imgur.com/a/mQVCDIQ. Furthermore, if Spain would not have gotten the provinces, Austria would have most likely which is a direct rival.
Because Spain is my ally, I am now blocked in the south and in the north for expansions. If I break my alliance with Spain, they will be much stronger due to their new free provinces. Is it therefore even preferable as France to force the BI? It seems there are more downsides than positives.
Any advice on how to proceed? I'm a bit of a noob. Also had no idea this could happen.
Goal is to form the Roman Empire at some stage

I've been trying to get the Burgundian Succession as Holland. I'm aware of the requirements. I must have done 20+ restarts, some in the first few months, some in the first ten/twenty years and one that lasted until 1500. I can't seem to get it. Has it become less likely in recent patches? I will probably give up after a few more tries.
Edit: One thing I have definitely noticed is that in none of my tries has Burgundy been at war with anyone other than France/Provence. He is never at war with England or Austria, which makes it seem way less likely. In my 1500 attempt I was just waiting for France's truces to expire. I ended up flattening him myself by attacking one of his allies but nothing.
The title says it all. In all of my EU4 games, whether Holland, Russia or even Oda when I see Europe, Burgundy is just sitting there. I believe it happened to me in a France game during the HYW and that did help me out. But other than that, Burgundy still sits aroun, either destroying Provence and Being a pest to France or gets annihilated the old fashioned way. The only time this helped me out is when in a Holland > Netherlands game I snagged Antweperen in 1510. Any tips to force it or am I just really unlucky.
Look at that beautiful savoy.
