After taking the book from that abbot in one of the quests, I got -50 relations with two nations, Aileach being one of them.

Now I'm expected to talk to a guy who's always in Aileach. Except I have -50 relations with them, so I can't sneak in, and I can't request a meeting. I tried sending a gift to the king, and my relations with him went from 0 to -5 because of my attempted gift.

What the fuck are you supposed to do? Follow their 300+ army stacks around until they get in a fight with bandits and then help them for +1? This seems broken, and googling this doesn't give me much.

Ok so I have a few things that I wanted to talk about with this book. As of right now, and i know that this may be controversial, and yeah maybe my opinion will change, but I still like Mistborn (1-3 haven't read Era 2 yet) better. Like I said, I know that it might be slightly controversial to some on here, but I'm sure that it's only because I haven't read the other books in the Stormlight Archive, or maybe because I just personally really enjoy the magic system and all its uses in Mistborn. To compare them, at least as of right now, i think that Mistborn is better, but again, haven't even come close to finishing the Stormlight Archive.

To also put a Prologue before the review that I'm about to give, I was feeling kind of weird about going into this book as I had never really tackled a massive epic fantasy story before, other than kind of Mistborn in the past few months, but even that is like a low key epic fantasy, but regardless I was excited. I'll be listing things in points from here on out so yeah enjoy my thoughts and takes as of finishing the book as of a few hours ago.

1. So first off, my man Kaladin. I like him a lot, definitely my favorite character within the book. Especially when they have him get infused with the Stormlight and start fighting the Parshendi to help save Dalinar and Adolin, just extremely well done, his character arc was relatable, and I think something that anyone can identify with. Losing others and feeling like you're worthless makes you want to give up, but only when you let others into your life and start to build from that struggle can you move forward. I intensely enjoyed watching Kaladin learn these things throughout the progression of the book. A beautiful character for a great book.
2. Shallan, I gotta be honest, some people really hate her character and her place in this book from the stuff that I've seen online, and I truly don't understand where that comes from. Sure she doesn't have as sophisticated of an arc as Kaladin or Dalinar, but I really enjoyed whenever she got a chapter, especially after she stole the soulcaster. I enjoyed a lot of her quips, a few of them even made me laugh out loud, which is fairly rare for me when I read. I think its just a testament to Brandon's ability to write different characters and I have to commend him. Plus JAM.
3. Dalinar, truthfully I hated him in the first part where I read about him. I wanted to slam my head against the wall every time that he got a chance to be the ma

This ranked series Respawn has added a split to the season where the map changes from World’s Edge to King’s Canyon. When this happens you will see an RP reduction of 1 and 1/2 tiers just as you would at the end of the last series. The exact RP people will lose can vary as different tiers have different RP requirements.

This is expected. It’s not a bug.

After the 3 months long Ranked Series 1, and the 4 month long Ranked Series 2, we have been looking at engagement on the ranked ladder and have decided to continue with a 3 month series, but divide it into 2 splits. This means that Series 3 will have two shorter splits, each with a soft reset. Split 1 will be played on World’s Edge while Split 2 will be back on King’s Canyon to keep things fresh. Ranked rewards will be granted for the highest tier achieved in either split of the series, but exclusive animated badges will be granted if you can make it to the same tier both splits.

Soft Reset

The soft reset will stay the same for Season 4. At the start of Series 3 everyone will be soft reset on their ranked position by 1.5 Tiers down. That means if you ended Season 3 in Gold II, you’ll be reset to Silver IV. Players in Platinum IV will be reset to Silver II, and Apex Predators will be reset to Platinum II. This reset will now occur at each split as well.”

I just finished part 3 of way of the kings and I'm feeling very conflicted about this series. The book initially started slow but it picked up a lot in part 2 and I began to really get into it. Things turned incredibly depressing tho, especially with Kaladins backstory. While the author basically tells you what happened to Kaladin early on in the book, actually showing the flashback events makes it all the more horrific and difficult to read. By the end of part 3 it kinda feels like all hope is lost for all characters. I can see the redemption arc sorta coming in the distance for Kaladin but honestly idek if he deserves it. I feel more pity than anything else for Kaladin now as his past is just that sad. Things are similarly awful for Dalinar and Shallan at this point. I guess without any spoilers, I just wanna know if this hopeless, depressing tone is maintained throughout the entire series because honestly it's not even fun to read anymore. If the storytelling does change significantly though then I think I'd want to finish it.

Update: Thanks for all the responses everyone! I've decided to keep reading because like many of you said, the journey before the destination. I'm still holding out hope that at least some of the characters will find happiness tho lol

Not going to spoil anything but I just finished it and, wow, these people are all legitimately insane. The amount of footage they were able to get is incredible, so many twists and turns.
