If this is in the wrong place, I apologize and please just delete. Due to a health emergency, I can't afford my usual annual shopping spree at King Arthur Flour, but life itself seems wan and pale without those jammy bits - or at least something close to them. I've found alternatives for nearly everything else I typically buy from them, but not the jammy bits! Anyone know of any good substitutions or alternative, more affordable brands of the same item?
I generally use them for quick breads/muffins/cupcakes, cookies and cookie bars. I can sub freeze dried raspberries in some of my baking, but the flavor and texture of the jammy bits really is such a big part of their appeal that I hoped someone may know of something similar. I'm trying to keep my life as close to 'normal' as possible on my good days and make sure that I have a small stash of delicious things to keep me motivated to keep fighting on my bad days and perhaps, if I have the energy to do more than look, make small gifts for my medical team.
