A list of puns related to "Khanate Of Bukhara"
Make my way to the edge of the city with my thumb out, just in case. Cop picks me up, makes a street vendor give me 2 loaves of bread for free. He then drives me to the outskirts of town, sets up a roadblock, and forces a car to take me further. Skip ahead to about halfway mark, a chicken farmer pulls up, says he can't give me a ride but would like to get me some food. I hop in the car and he takes me to a fancy restaurant where a teen girl is having a birthday and everyone is dancing. Eat 4 shashlik and lots of bread. 20 mins later, 3rd trucker of the day picks me up and makes me eat at a restaurant with him, more food than the last place I try to explain Im grateful but I just ate 20 mins ago, not taking no for an answer.
All in all, 10.5 hours in 9 different cars. Hitchhiking really is a foreign concept here, but still managed :)
Okay guys, so I am trying to do all campaigns in chronological order, so after finishing Atilla the Hun's campaign, I went for the Bukhara scenario on the Battles of the Forgotten. Problem is, I can't win!
The reason I can't win is because of the green guys. They are Mongols and train a huge army of cavalry archers + mangudais + skirmishers, which get upgraded when they reach Imperial Age (they reach Imperial pretty fast in this game cuz they start with some bases and at Castle). I can't manage to knock them down because they just start training more. When you turn against them Persia attacks them with lots of light cav and some cav archers, so it slows them down a bit, but not enough.
I tried two things: wait till Imperial and strike them with 15 ELITE war elephants, lots of (heavy) camels and some trebuchets, didn't work, couldn't even destroy a single town center. Then I tried building castles near their base as I have seen this strategy online a lot, they ended up killing the villagers and the second time I tried (with an actual army to protect the villagers) I couldn't reach the castle because the green guys attacked my base first.
I don't want to struggle so much in this mission, yet I still wanna win. I was considering mining some stone and doing a tower rush in sync with the Persian army that comes to attack the green guys, but I didn't try yet. I'm pretty new to this game too. Does anyone have a strategy that a new player can use atleast a bit effectively?
PS: I start in Feudal too, with the Scythian Scout, Cosroes, 3 elephant archers and 3 villagers.

Just saying.
Hey everyone, I am particularly proud of this plotline I have been running in my TOS era campaign, and it finally happened, so I thought I'd share it here.
For weeks now, a lower level scientist NPC has been trying to get the captain to give him permission to further genetic engineering experimentation. Although that kind of thing is normally not allowed, he made a passionate argument that scientific progress shouldn't stop because of a few bad actors. They gave him permission to run some simulations and soon it seemed like he was onto something. Then he wanted permission to experiment on animals. They allowed it, and his results were promising. The players were very thorugh in checking for safeguards and aggression and any other red flags. It was all completely on the up and up. A couple of weeks later, he asked for permission to experiment with a few human volunteers. Again, he argued that the scars of the past should not stop progress. With his results humans could have increased strength, intelligence, and a longer lifespan. They said no. When he got upset, they removed him from duty.
In another, unrelated session, a stranger visited some of the player characters. This person made vague allusions to being from the future and being descended of two of the crew members. He gave them a device that consisted of a single button that was completely scan proof. He told them to use it if they ever 'Forgot themselves' and dropped that he was visiting every timeline just in case.
A few weeks later, in an unrelated mission, the ship gets frozen in space, racked by a computer virus that was unleashed by the scientist. The scientist had decided to go rogue. He escaped in a shuttlecraft.
Suddenly, everything changed. Instead of the Federation, the players now served the "Khanate of Earth." They all had open chested uniforms showing off their abs and their positions were now not based on seniority, but rather on their genetic lines. The former helmsmen was now the captain due to his superior genetics.
None of them remembered anything about their own lives... except for the science officer who herself was from a different alternate timeline (and therefore uneffected by the change). She figured out what was going on and tried to get access to the button to press it.
Meanwhile, the Khanate ship the players were now the crew of, was on a mission to hunt the last vestiges of the shattered Romulan Empire. By the time the science officer pressed the button, unfortunat

As mentioned in the Qing analysis, the Khamug Khanate is the biggest rival to Chinaโs superpower. And as you would expect from rivals, the Khamugs and Qing are almost neck and neck. But one of them has to be ahead in these rankings, and the Khamugs take that spot.
The Khamug Khanateโs position, when compared to the Qing, is a lot of slightly better's and very similar's. When it comes to land, the Khamugs barely edge out the Qing due to being farther from their neighbors. When it comes to neighbors, the Khamugs have it slightly easier. While they share a border with the Kazakhs, the border is safe due to a wall of mountains, so they can spend all their time bullying the Evenks and building up against the Qing. Their AI is also very similar, featuring the powerful combo of expansionism and militarism that can push a civ to victory. And while their uniques might not be nearly as strong as the Qing (even post-nerf), the production boost the Khamugโs uniques provide is nonetheless handy. All around, the Khamugs are in a strong position in Asia, having by my guess a slightly better chance than the Qing at controlling eastern Asia.
But alas, the Khamugs arenโt quite in a position for me to rank them higher. With only about a 50% chance of being the dominant power in the far east, they will have to work to take control of the region. Similar to the Qing, they face a risk of stagnating and being weakened by their counterpart. In addition, sharing a border with the Kazakhs, as mountainous as that border is, is never the best situation.
All around, I feel as though the dividing line between the strong and very strong falls just above where the Khamugs lie. The Khamugs are strong but arenโt more likely than not to emerge as the dominant power in their region. But for the top 4, every single one of them has a likely chance of dominating their region, as competitive as their regions may be.
Never in my life have I felt so much hatred towards a virtual entity. Simply fighting the khergits in battle makes me want to absolutely erase their cities. The problem isnโt that itโs difficult to win, itโs just the absolute annoyance of Horse Archers and lancers. Iโm not sure what it is about them that infuriates me so much, however all I know is they do. Iโm not saying theyโre not fun to play, (not that I would know, as Iโd rather fill my ears with coarse sand, worms and glass shards than to play as them) Iโm sure it is quite fun for those who like them, nor am I saying theyโre a bad faction. I actually am quite fond of how the cities look believe it or not. They simply infuriate me beyond belief however and I canโt stand them.
Trying to set up your troops? Sucks theyโre already 5ft in front of you.
Want to move to a different part of the map? Good luck getting there.
Want to just finish the battle with the 2 khergit horse archers left who should run and route but wonโt? Sucks to be you. Have fun chasing them for an hour with your slowed down horse (if itโs still alive) cause theyโve shot it so many times to the point where itโs faster to walk.
That is all.
