I mean...come on, who DOESNT WANNA SEE THIS MATCH! It's like taking Ilja vs Walter, or Tyler Bate vs Walter, and cranking them up to 23. And those matches were already amazing to begin with.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
With the record-breaking GCW show at Hammerstein less than a week away, 8 matches have been announced/confirmed so far (card subject to change), and here's what we know:
Allie Katch vs. Ruby Soho.

Jonathan Gresham vs. Blake Christian for the ROH World Championship.
Joey Janela vs. Matt Cardona w/ Chelsea Green.
The Briscoe Brothers will host an Open Challenge for the GCW Tag Team Champions.

Grab The Brass Ring Ladder Match - Winner Gets Any Match, Anytime, Anywhere: Jimmy Lloyd vs. Alex Colon vs. Jordan Oliver vs. Tony Deppen vs. Lio Rush vs. PCO
Effy vs. Jeff Jarrett
According to GCW's official Patreon, there will be a PBR Battle Royale on the pre-show. There is also a pre-show scramble confirmed: Alex Zayne vs. Grim Reefer vs. Nick Wayne vs. Ninja Mack vs. Dante Leon vs. Jack Cartwheel
Confirmed talent for the card include: AJ Gray, Atticus Cogar, Big Vin, Dark Sheik, Matthew Justice, Ricky Morton, Psycho Clown, Dustin Thomas, Ruckus, "2Hot" Steve Scott, Shane Mercer and B-Boy.
GCW Stalwart Nick Gage has not yet been confirmed for the show. Other GCW regulars that have not been confirmed include 2 Cold Scorpio, Cole Radrick, G-Raver, Matt Tremont, Billie Starkz, Ricky Shane Page, Dante Leon and Calvin Tankman. Drew Parker was initially booked for the show (and rumored to face Joey Janela) but Japan's COVID-19 travel restrictions forced him to withdraw.
Injured GCW regulars not scheduled for the event include Chris Dickinson, Marko Stunt and Starboy Charlie. Mance Warner, who is also currently injured, will participate in the event, likely in a commentary capacity. Eddie Kingston was initially announced but fractured his orbital and will likely not wrestle, though he could still participate in a non-wrestling capacity. Dave Prazak, Kevin Gill and Ian Riccaboni have also been announced for commentary on the show.
The night prior, GCW will be running the Independent Wrestling Hall of Fame Ceremony. Ruckus, Sonjay Dutt, Jerry Lynn, Sean Waltman, CM Punk, LuFisto and Lenny Leonard will be in attendance. Tracy Smothers will be posthumously celebrated as well.
The show will be the highest-attended professional wrestling event in the history of the medium. According to the NYS Athletic Commission, intergender wrestling is prohibited. Deathmatches have also been prohibited, but

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
January 23rd is gonna be a pivotal show for GCW. They are running one of the most iconic venues in pro wrestling and are bringing the largest live audience to the venue, with a little over 2,000 people attending and it'll be the largest crowd they've ever had.
The company is red hot right now and has been getting a lot of buzz since around June of 2021 when Matt Cardona showed up on the scene and challenged Nick Gage for the title. Since then, they've been having strong shows, kicking open the forbidden door, bringing in some top caliber names, and are firing on all cylinders. With two shows left before The Wrld On GCW, here is a quick guide to the company. I won't go into a massive dive of its history or whatever, just wanna cover what's going on now as that's what's most important.
GCW often gets mislabeled as entirely a death match company, which couldn't be further from truth. While they do still lean into it, as it's a big part of their identity. They just had an absolutely brutal death match to cap off their last show. But, that's not all they do.
The company has all styles of wrestling represented, they book Deathmatch guys, pure wrestlers, flippy guys, brawlers, and more. Plus, rhe company has been instrumental in helping get a number of talent more eyes on them. Blake Christian, Alex Zayne, MJF, Joey Janela, Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt, and others have wrestled for them and it helped boost their status within the wrestling world.
Right now, they've wrapped up pretty much all the storylines, so there isn't much in the way of big feuds heading into Hammerstein. Although they look to be building up two big things.
Saturday night, Jeff Jarrett of all people showed up and crashed the state of the Effy address and smashed Effy with a guitar. We have yet to hear from either party, but I imagine that Double J vs Effy might be one of the big matches on that night.
Also, on the same show, Homicide' outlasted 19 competitors in the Do or Die Rumble, last eliminating Atticus Cogar, which guarantees him a world title shot against reigning champion Jon Moxley. New York is Homicide's town, he has trained a number of people from there and has helped the New York indies in a big way over 20 years. He's looking to make one more moment on the biggest GCW show of all time.
In regards to the talent, their roster is pretty loaded and GCW is always on the lookout for the unknown and rising indie stars to give that spotlight to. The top names right now ar
