I'm an exchange student coming to UoE in January and I just got an offer for housing in Buccleuch Place. It's a twin room which I did not want so I'm a bit disappointed about that, and it also seems a bit out of the way from what I can tell. Does anyone have any information about what living there is like, how it would be to make friends there as an international student, etc.?
Edit: ok, I recognize that I was wrong about it being out of the way lol, I've never been to the city before and got confused looking at the map

Is anyone else seeing this? My husband and I are floored. It looks like two fighter planes are aggressively circling and chasing off a little charter Cesna-looking plane. They've been above our house probably 20 mins doing this.

There was about 10 police cars, 2 firetrucks and an ambulance on buccleuch street last night from about half 1 until 5ish. People in riot gear with shields. Dogs being taken about the place. Police won't say what's going on but it freaked me out considering we're supposed to stay in our houses at the moment. Anyone have any idea what's going on in those flats? I thought drugs until the fire brigade showed up.
What happened? I see there is an alert about a chemical issue in the building.

Hello! I am new to this community and we are looking to move into the Berkley Heights area. We have a young child and are wanting to make sure that we haven't picked an unsafe area. The house is somewhat close to a motel ("Budget Inn") and the Walmart on the West Side of Kettering and wondering what your experience has been for those who have lived over here.
Do you recommend it? Is it super unsafe/somewhere in the middle/very safe? The crime maps make it seem like a non-issue but just want to be sure. Thanks!!
All of the stores on campus have worse times, you can’t be in the AB late, the library might as well not exist on the weekend and you can’t even enter through the CC until 11:30. Plus the rec’s times are pretty whack for doing anything in the morning.
From 3-5 you can get gold easier than food, like dog, I’m hungry.
I don’t understand how this is will do anything besides be a nuisance.
