A list of puns related to "Kenner Products"
Welcome to the hobby!
So you've decided to start collecting one of the coolest Star Wars action figure lines produced by Kenner or Hasbro. Great! Welcome to the community! Let's talk about how you can make the most of your collector experience by ensuring that you can get your hands on almost all of the figures you want.
So where are you going to go to pick up some of the latest wave of figures? The toy aisle at Walmart, right?
Wrong.
Buying your figures in-store.
One idea that we need to do away with right off the bat is the idea that the best way to get the figures you want is to go hunting store-to-store. If you grew up in the 90s, and early 2000s, during the Power of the Force era and the subsequent Prequels release era, you doubtless have memories of going to your local Walmart, K-Mart, or Ames and picking out all the figures you want and having most of the releases be freely in stock for weeks or months at a time.
This era is gone.
Let me say it one more time for the veteran collectors in the back who can't let this idea go.
This era is gone.
Star Wars toys have gone from being marketed exclusively towards children to being marketed more toward adult and young adult collectors. Lines like The Black Series stopped being just for kids a long time ago; the amount of people with disposable income looking to get their hands on all of these figures is much higher than it used to be.
Most of the time, stores like Walmart and Target will only get in a few cases of each release. A case is (usually) made up of eight different figures. Therefore, a major retail store will have three or four instances of a figure at most. Considering the sheer volume of people that shop at those stores, it should be no surprise at all that you probably won't be able to get everything you want at a traditional brick-and-mortar.
Yes, that feeling is great when you stumble on a figure you want in the wild. Yes, it's disheartening when you see someone post a picture of an entire wave they picked up at Target. Yes, we all wish we could just run to the store and get what we want. But those aren't the times we live in any more.
So where do I buy from then?
Online! There are multiple retail websites (ones that are often referred to as 'fan channels') that make getting the action figures you want as easy as clicking a mouse. These different sites all have their own unique qualities, as well as their upsides and downsides, and I'm goin

It only made sense that after we went through every Innova disc, that we would then dive into the world of Discraft discs. Discraft was founded in 1978 in Ontario Canada by Jim Kenner and Gail McColl (they are also married). In 1979 they move Discraft to Michigan and they started to make and PDGA approve molds.
Jim and Gail were not happy with the discs being made at the time, and they wanted to make a more professional product for people in ultimate, disc golf, and other disc sports to throw. Discraft has become the seminal brand in all other frisbee sports except for disc golf, where they have always trailed Innova. The Ultra-Star, Sky Styler, and Sky Pro have always sold enough that Discraft did not even need good disc golf sales to stay afloat.
Unlike with Innova, there is not a clear "starting point" for these guides. Discraft precedes the beveled edge by 4 years, and even though DGA / Destiny were producing molds for disc golf, I imagine people used those early non disc golf Discraft discs on the course. I decided to start with the Sky Streak because that was the first disc Discraft designed for disc golf. But they did have discs PDGA approved all the way back to 1979.
Just in case you missed the Innova series, the goal of these posts will be to:
Alright, let's get to the di

Give collectors a chance to get some of those hard to find essential figs. Yes, I know the old line was a Mattel product, but the copyright for logos and such would still be Marvel right? Mattel did a βSuper Powersβ retro line a few years ago, and that was Kenner (Hasbro) after allβ¦ Plus, Iβd love me some of those shields.https://imgur.com/a/QbIF2XW/
My friends and I (the Snifty Snakes) attended our 9th BGGCon in Dallas this past week, our first convention, and social gathering together in almost two years. We played a ton of games, caught up on the hot things weβd missed for the past few years, and tried lots of weird silly games you only get to play at conventions.
First of all, I want to give just a massive shoutout and so much credit to Jeff(CaptainQuix), Aldie, and the whole BGGCon team and TeamGeek for putting this together in a way that made everyone feel safe and comfortable. This must have been an immense challenge to even make happen, and dealing with the constant backlash from all angles on the BGG forums and email chains must have been a nightmare. I hope they realize those people were a vocal minority, and the people who got to attend had every option necessary to feel safe and experience the convention their own way, and everyone was having such a blast. This convention was different, but after almost 2 years of not gaming, this was just what we all needed. Truly a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, and I know many others felt the same way. This wasnβt the perfect con, but it was the perfect con for November 2021.
Alright like Buzz McCallister says, βenough of this gooey shβ¦show of emotionβ. Lets get to the games:
Game of the Convention β So Clover - checked this out multiple times to have late night, played it with strangers. A new classic.
Theme of the Convention β Narrative-driven games are good now, really good
I use a similar rating scale to the BGG.com standard ratings. Games that receive 6βs and 7βs I consider Above Average/Good Games, with 5βs being pretty average, so when I rate a bunch of games 5-8, thatβs a pretty good convention experience. Also rating games after just one play obviously means itβs my initial impression, and I know Iβm missing the depth of repeat plays:
Krass Kariert - [6/10] - Our βnight beforeβ and βin-lineβ game, something light we had never played. This turned out to be a pretty fun game that evolved the more we played it. This is a βdonβt be the last man standingβ card game, it feels like a trick-taking game. The fun catch is that everyone wins except the loser, but there are some very clever and interesting tactics to each hand. This was a pleasant surprise, and plays in about 15 minutes, so we played it a ton. Seems like itβd be awesome with a big group.
WitchStone β [7/10] - The f

I am writing a book on 1980s/1990s "gross" toys, and I am currently mapping out a chapter on the history of the toy business leading up to the 1980s. One thing that sticks out to me as fascinating is that food companies purchased some toy companies in the late 1960s and 1970s (Nabisco acquired Aurora Plastics; General Mills acquired Donruss and Kenner; General Foods acquired Kohner; Quaker Oats acquired Fisher Price; etc.).
One of my sources for toy history (Toyland, Stern & Schoenhaus, 1990) mentions a diversification trend at this time, but doesn't say much more than "it was happening then". I would love to know more about why it was happening then, as well as why, by the early 1980s, these food companies were divesting themselves of toymakers.
I sense also an aspect of conservatism vs innovation at play in these decades. At least with toys, I think the general trend in the 70s was towards more conservative play patterns and toy categories. In the 80s I see a trend of ground-up toy design, where the model of letting toy designers pitch and develop new ideas (for entirely new products as well as extensions for existing brands). And by the mid-90s, that model was ditched; I suspect this is because, after Hasbro and Mattel bought up all the other companies, there was less need for competition/innovation.
So I'm also interested in knowing whether 1) this matches other trends in industries, in general or at that time and 2) whether I'm at all on the right track for framing all of this.
All that's for context, and it's a lot of questions, but my main hope is still the question in the title. If there's a more appropriate subreddit, please let me know. Thank you!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
The doctor says it terminal.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat

Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.
