What do you guys think of the names Scott, Katherine and Maya?
My husband and I live in Spain and these are our top names. Husband LOVES Katherine, and Maya is still my favorite girl name. We both like Scott as it’s short and sweet and definitely not common here. All these names can be pronounced well in both languages and sound great with both our surnames.
EDIT: we do not know the gender yet. We have a private boy/girl ultrasound next week where we will hopefully find out!

Why are Christian names like Anna, Katherine, and John considered white names?
Someone asked Mindy Kaling under one of her posts why she gave her kids (Katherine and Spencer Kaling) Caucasian first names and if they have Indian middle names. The replies to this comment were mostly respectful but some people in the comments implied that names like Katherine are white. I find this quite surprising cause I'm Indian Christian and it's pretty common for Christians in India to have "Caucasian" names like Katherine, John, Chris, Benny, Susan etc. In India we consider these names just Christian and not white. A lot of non-Indians have even asked me why I have a white surname, although this could be partly because of the misconception that all Indians are Hindu and have Hindu names. I have met African Americans named Katherine, Chris etc, but why are they still considered white?

Hello everyone! I've got a WIP that centres around the conflict between two sisters. I've been throwing names around but I realised that the ones I like - Katherine, Elizabeth, Lydia - are all names of Bennet sisters from *Pride and Prejudice,* so I think I can only get away with using one of them.
I'm looking for longer, classic names, with lots of nickname options. One of the sisters was born in the late 90s, one in the early 2000s, but I don't want their names to sound to trendy for that era. It's also set in present-day England, if that's relevant.

Middle name for Elizabeth or Katherine
We are expecting our third. Our daughter’s middle name is Frances and our son’s middle name is Thomas, both family names. We are between Elizabeth and Katherine for a first name and struggling with a middle. Last name is one syllable and rhymes with “Reed”.
