A list of puns related to "Kate Gilmore"
okay guys i have a new idea that i think will be fun! the latest season hasn’t been my favorite so i’ve been going back to rewatch the seasons that i like WHICH have led me to want to see what other shows and movies the cast have been in.
so everyone knows i love jessica capshaw the most so i started with her.
as i was looking through info about her show “the practice” i noticed some familiars, like kim raver (teddy) and chyler leigh (lexie)
so my question to y’all is: have you seen anyone from the cast acting together in the same show or movie? bc i want to check them all out 😊
I’ve been rewatching Gilmore Girls and the fat phobia is very prominent. The worst thing in the world was to be fat. It’s no wonder why there is a generation of women that hate themselves. I was a teen in the 90s and early 00s; Kate Moss’ body was what everyone wanted. Absolutely, not obtainable for the average woman. All those shows from that time period had rail thinned women.
Thank goodness for the body positivity movement!!
The most special of moments are those spent with friends and family. It is with them when you can enjoy all that life has to offer. Those moments can also be magical. Those are moments when things can be as you want them to be. And it doesn’t really matter where you live, whether it’s in a small town out in the country, or in a big city like New York or San Francisco or even Charlotte, North Carolina. Maybe it is true when someone says home is where the heart is. Home is also where your friends and family are. Special moments can be shared with those you care about. That can be magic. Life itself is special.
It helps when you have friends, and even a lot of them. And even friends you have had since childhood. Someone once said this. You never forget the neighborhood kids you grew up with. Maybe you and your friends were not perfect, but you all stuck together through good times and bad. There is always that great blessing of friendship. When times are bad, it is always good to know you have your friends and family to count on. That can be part of the magic.
Thus it is that Jim Faulkner sits on the front porch of his house on Bethany Street in a part of Charlotte, North Carolina, called Dilworth. It was now September, and it is Labor Day. Jim is off from work on this day, but he will be back at his job at Queen City Chevrolet the next day. On this crystal clear morning, Jim is enjoying his cup of coffee and looking at the Charlotte skyline. A skyline that he saw grow and change since his childhood. He is also watching the birds take advantage of his bird bath and bird feeders. He watches a hummingbird get a drink of sugar water. He watches some squirrels playing. Jim is being rubbed against by two purring cats, giving out meows. Jim is currently thinking about a cookout he will be giving later in the day. He would be grilling out burgers and hot dogs.
Jim may be by himself on the front porch, but he is really not alone. He has his friends and always will. He also has his family. Walter and Kate, his father and stepmother. Wendy, his beautiful mother. Jerry, his half-brother. And his half-sisters. From his mother, Emily and Charlie. And from his father, Renee and Rachel. Just as Jim could count on his friends, he could also count on his family.
In the summer of 1984, Jim and a group of friends made a promise to remain friends forever, no matter what life would throw at them.
However, no one, not even God, made any promise that just because you are

Hi, new watcher here. I just found this show, and I've been curious about since finding out that the actor playing Jack is Jess from Gilmore girls
I just started on episode 5
So far, I know Jack will die at some point, and the flashbacks tie into the present day time line, but that's about it
I don't have a favorite character just yet, but I think I find Kate to be most sympathetic and easiest to root for

Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???
Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.
Thank you,

I really liked it! I like both actresses especially Sarah Chalke. It's nice to see Katherine Heigl play a fun celebrity who loves her friend. It looks like a cute romantic comedy. I never read the books!
Well, toucan play at that game.
Argon does not react.
Martin Freeman, and Andy Serkis.
They also play roles in Lord of the Rings.
I guess that makes them the Tolkien white guys.

To get to the... Bottom...
(as told by my 5yo son, I'm so proud)
Japan.
It was now 2004. The year got off to a pretty big start in Charlotte. The Carolina Panthers made their first trip to the Super Bowl. This year, the big game was held in Houston. The Panthers played the New England Patriots. The Patriots won. Jim and his friends watched the game on TV.
But as the year progressed, things went sour. One evening, Jim and some of his friends got some rather shocking news. Luke sold his gas station on East Morehead Street. Luke had always bragged business had never been better, even at a time when gas stations like that were closing and car owners were taking their cars for service at places like Walmart or even a car dealership. Jim and the others in the neighborhood knew something was up.
They would get the news one day in March. The Holbrook family invited everyone for a get-together at their house. Malachi was there, but his wife was not. She had to stay behind in Boston. Jim made his way around the house. He got a look at Audrey and the Holbrook kids and Todd and Julie’s kids, and the sons of April Lynn and Ashley. They tried to keep happy faces, but Jim and the others could sense something was not quite right. But everyone just continued to enjoy themselves.
Jim would find out about it when he got home that evening. Candi was not at the get-together. She had to work late at the hospital. Wendy was not at the get-together, either. Neither were Emily and Charlie. Jim had done put his daughters to bed. Jim turned on the stereo in the living room. He put it on a Charlotte oldies station. Nat “King” Cole. That’s All. Jim took out a bag of tortilla chips out of a cabinet. Then he took a small jar out of the fridge. It was a jar of cheddar cheese dip. It was something Candi must have bought without Jim’s knowledge. Jim took out some, put it in a small bowl, and heated it up in the microwave. He also got him a can of Coke out of the fridge. Jim sat down at the table just as another song started playing. The Four Preps now. Twenty-six miles across the sea. About halfway through the song, the doorbell rang. Jim went to answer it. Alex and Sydney Cavanaugh. Alex still had on the purple dress she wore to the get-together. Sydney had on a white blouse, a black skirt and black pantyhose. Jim let Alex and Sydney in. He told them he put the girls down for bed. Alex and Sydney promised to keep it down. Jim told them to sit down at the table. He offered them a Coke. Alex took a Coke while Sydney took one of Candi’s cans of Diet Coke.

One of those nice houses, on a street called Bethany Street, lived a man by the name of Jim Faulkner. Jim lived there with his five daughters. It was a very nice two-story house. It had flower boxes on nearly every window, especially in the front of the house, and also at the kitchen. He had a wife named Candi, who he lost in a plane crash. In addition to the job of raising his daughters, Jim also ran one of Charlotte’s most successful car dealerships. It was called, appropriately enough, Queen City Chevrolet. Jim loved his job, and he always took great pride in what he did, both at work and at home. He sold a lot of automobiles, and he proved himself good at it. Jim Faulkner was good for business.
Jim and his daughters lived in that nice house on Bethany Street, one that belonged in the Faulkner family. At first, it belonged to his great-grandparents (on his father’s side of the family). From there, it belonged to his grandparents (again, on his father’s side). After that, his mother, Wendy Claiborne Faulkner, raised Jim by herself in the house. This continued until Jim graduated from high school, got married and attended college. Jim graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in business management, which would come in handy when he began working at Queen City Chevrolet.
And of course, Jim had a father, although he had been in and out of his life. Now, he was back in Charlotte. In fact, when Walter Faulkner re-entered his life, he made a vow to make it permanent. In addition, Jim also had five half-siblings. Three from his father, the other two from his mother.
Jim’s full given name was James William Faulkner. He was born in Charlotte in 1969. He was the son of James Walter Faulkner (he would use his middle name) and Wendy Elizabeth Claiborne Faulkner. Jim had a good and easy childhood from the very beginning, just about. From the beginning, Jim had had a fascination with automobiles. Jim read car magazines constantly. He was also a train enthusiast. During his childhood, Jim would use his major collection of toy cars and model trains and make little towns. He also used his Fisher-Price Village, Fisher-Price Children’s Hospital, and Playskool McDonald’s and Holiday Inn and Kentucky Fried Chicken to make those towns. Along th
... keep reading on reddit ➡School resumed that Monday after the long holiday break. That Tuesday while working at the used car lot, Jim spoke to both Pam and Paulina about the events of that weekend. He told them about Walter, Kate and Renee. Jim told Pam and Paulina about the blue Mustang that passed the used car lot just before Christmas. He told them that was the car and that Walter was driving the car, Kate in the passenger seat, and Renee in the back. Jim also told them about the evening at Southpark Mall when he met them. He told them everything went well, and how glad he had Autumn, Mark and Sydney with him.
During that week, Wendy and Jim worked hard to get everything arranged for the get-together. Wendy and Jim agreed on serving sandwiches, salad, soup and potato chips. They got the neighbors to come. They all agreed. They set the get-together for the following Sunday evening.
That Sunday, everyone in the neighborhood went to church for the usual worship service. Walter, Kate and Renee were not in attendance, although they were invited. They would meet Reverend Q and Anna at the get-together.
After church, Wendy and Jim spent a great deal of time getting everything together. Jim worked on the salad while Wendy made sandwiches. Ham and turkey and cheese. Chicken salad. Even some sandwiches made with Underwood Deviled Ham. Wendy also made some vegetable soup, which she made in a slow cooker. She kept the slow cooker on low while she and Jim were in church. Jim also cut up some carrot sticks, cucumbers and broccoli and made some ranch dressing, and he put them in a dish, with the salad dressing for dip. Potato chips would also be served. By five o’ clock, everything was ready.
Jim went upstairs to get ready. He got a shower and then he went to his bedroom to get dressed. Around six o’ clock, some visitors walked into Jim’s room. But not just any visitors. His friends. The same ones he made the promise to remain friends to. All of them.
Everyone met with Jim in his room. There was enough room in Jim’s room for the Holbrook, Cavanaugh, Marlowe, Cattrall, Barrett, Crabtree and Gilmore kids, and Tia Mendes and Candi Robertson and Todd McClendon. Russell was the first to speak. He spoke for Scout, Paulina and himself. “Jim, we want you to know this. We know about what you have been going through. You didn’t lie to us. You just didn’t know. That’s all.”
Next was Jonathan, speaking for the Marlowe bunch. “Jim, we know a kid in school who found out about a half-sister he didn’t

He also decided to wear a tie. He picked out one with cars on it, one Wendy gave him for a birthday present the year he met Candi. Jim turned on the stereo in his room. He played some easy listening. Burt Bacharach. The Last One to Be Loved. Wendy stepped into the bedroom. She said, “Jim, you do look nice.”
“Thanks, Mom. I figured this would be a good time to wear a shirt and tie.”
“Jim, I do feel the same way.”
“I do remember giving you that tie for a birthday present.”
Jim looked at himself in the mirror. He said, “I hope I don’t do something stupid like throw up or make a fool of myself.”
“Jim, you won’t. You’ll be fine. Just be yourself.”
“Thanks, Mom. Maybe on the way to Southpark Mall, I’ll take some slow deep breaths. That seems to help me sometimes when I feel stressed out or discouraged.”
Wendy took something out of the pocket of the skirt she was wearing. It was a twenty-dollar bill. She said to Jim, “Eating can help, too. Here’s twenty dollars. Get a pizza and share it with your friends and half-sister.”
“Thanks, Mom. I will.”
“Jim, don’t let anyone talk you into nothing. You know who I’m talking about.”
“My father, I suppose.”
“Yes, Jim. Especially him.”
Then the phone rang. Wendy said she would get it. Jim finished getting ready. His stereo was now playing easy listening. Jim thought that kind of music, though melancholy as it may be, could help him to relax. After about three minutes, Wendy stepped back into the room and said, “Jim, that was Autumn. She said for you to come over to her house as soon as you get ready.”
Jim grabbed a gray cardigan sweater out of his closet. Then he hugged Wendy. She said, “Jim, good luck. And again, please don’t let anyone talk you into anything. At least, anything bad.”
Wendy walked with Jim to the door. They stepped outside. There was still some daylight left. But the sky was still dark with clouds. It seemed a little darker than a while ago. Now, the air was starting to get colder. Wendy said, “Jim, it’s getting colder. Don’t you feel you should get something warmer?”
“Thanks, Mom. But I’ll be okay. I’ll see you later when I get home. I’ll try my best not to be late.”
Wendy told Jim to take his time and enjoy his evening. Jim walked down the driveway, and then he walked on the side of Bethany Street. Jim looked up at the trees. Some of them were com
... keep reading on reddit ➡After school and work on a Friday in May of 1987, Jim decided to something else major.
After he got done with work at Gilmore Auto Sales, Jim decided to drive to a jewelry store in the Park Road Shopping Center. He decided to look for a ring. But not just any ring. An engagement ring! Jim felt he was ready to make a very big move. For the past two years, Jim and Candi had been talking about marriage, and they had been planning their wedding. Not only that, they had also been planning names for their children. Now, Jim was ready to pop that all important question to Candi. After nearly an hour of looking, he finally found one he felt would be a good choice. It was a silver one with a blue stone. Jim knew Candi would love it. Now, there was one more question running through Jim’s mind. Where, when and how would he pull this thing off? The answer to that question was about to come.
The next evening, Walter, Kate and Renee paid Jim and Wendy a visit. Jim showed Walter, Kate, Renee and Wendy the ring he got. He swore the four to secrecy, telling them not to tell anyone about the ring or his plan…especially Candi. They agreed to keep Jim’s secret. Jim knew the marriage proposal would require permission from Candi’s aunts, Trisha and Cecilia Robertson. Jim would soon tell the two aunts about his plan to propose to Candi.
Then, Walter had an announcement. He managed to get five tickets to the Indianapolis 500, which was just a few short weeks away. Kate and Renee already agreed to join him. Walter said, “Jim, I may have an idea and it could involve us if you’d like for it to.”
Jim asked, “Dad, what did you have in mind?”
Walter answered, “Jim, we would like for you to join us. And maybe you could ask Candi if she would like to come.”
Then Kate added, “Jim, I feel you could pop the question at the race. This could be a good opportunity for you and Candi.”
Jim thought about it for a moment. And then, he finally said, “Maybe it would. I’ve been wanting to go to the Indy 500 for many years. Now, it looks like I may finally be getting my chance!”
Walter then said he could get them into the Winner’s Circle, and he also told them they could get to meet Al Unser, Jr. He was a favorite to win the race that year. Then Walter said, “Jim, that sounds like a good place to pop the question to Candi.”
Jim said, “Yes, Dad. I think it would. If I can get Candi to come along, I would be more than happy to come along. Thanks for the invite.”

That holiday break from school would turn out to be more interesting than Jim had bargained for. Wendy had made a traditional southern New Year’s Day dinner, which consisted of hog jowls (which tasted like bacon), black eyed peas, collard greens, potatoes and biscuits. The girl called again on Wednesday of that week, which was New Year’s Day 1986. Jim was in his room watching the college football bowl games on TV. Jim had just had dinner. This time, Wendy answered the phone when the girl called.
Wendy stuck her head in the door to Jim’s room, and she asked him, “Jim, do you know some girl named Renee?”
“No, Mom. I don’t think so. Why?”
“There’s a girl named Renee on the phone and she wants to speak to you.”
Then Jim asked, “Mom, you don’t suppose that’s the girl who called me last week and didn’t tell me who she is?”
Wendy answered, “Jim, I suppose it could be her.”
Jim walked into the hallway and took the cordless phone. Then he took it in his room. Jim turned down the sound on his TV. He said, “Hello. This is Jim.”
The girl said, “Hi, Jim. I suppose you know my name now.”
Jim said, “Yes. It’s Renee. Mom told me.”
“How’s this New Year’s Day been going?” Renee asked.
Jim answered, “So far, it’s been going pretty good. I just had dinner and now I’m watching bowl games on TV.”
Renee said, “I’m doing likewise. It looks like there are some pretty good college teams playing today.”
Jim said, “Yes, I know. A lot of the college football teams from our part of the country look pretty good. I just wonder who will come out on top.”
Then Renee said, “Jim, I understand you work at a used car lot.”
Jim said, “Yes. Gilmore Auto Sales. It’s on Mint Street.”
“What kind of work do you do there?” Renee asked.
Jim answered, “I do a lot of things. I help sell cars. I also wash cars. I just recently changed the sign out front.”
“I know. I saw you and some girl working on that sign about a week ago.”
Then, Jim thought of something. He thought about the day when he was at Eastland Mall with Ariel, Jodi and Candi. Jim remembered Candi talking to a girl at the mall. Candi said the girl she spoke to was about thirteen. From what Jim heard on the phone, the girl sounded like she could be about that age.
Then, Jim thought about something else. A few days before Christmas. That blue Mustang. The one with the three people in it. They all waved at Jim and Paulina. Then Jim thought about the girl who stuck her head out the window and shouted to him and Paulina. Again

Additionally, due to the size of this blog, this chapter will be done in TWO PARTS.
On a warm Friday evening in May, Valerie and Caitlyn brought up the subject. Maybe Jim had been putting off that subject for too long. Now, Jim’s two youngest daughters were finally about to find out about the mother they barely knew.
The subject came up when Jim was getting ready to go to bed. Valerie and Caitlyn stepped into Jim’s bedroom. Valerie said, “Dad, we need to know something. What was Mom like?”
Jim looked at Valerie and Caitlyn for a moment. Then, he asked them, “Why do you two want to know?”
Valerie answered, “We need to know. You talk about Mom to Chelsea, Lauren and Lindsay a lot. But you never say anything to us about Mom. Now we want to know.”
Then Caitlyn asked, “What was she like?”
Jim told the two girls to sit down on his bed. Then he tried to find the words, hoping he could explain about Candi in some way girls of their age could understand. Then, he finally started talking. “Girls, your mother was like you and your sisters, in a lot of ways. She was very sweet, pretty, caring, and she loved you all. I see a lot of her in you girls.”
Then Valerie asked, “How did Mom die?”
Once again, Jim tried to come up with the words. He wanted to explain it so that they could understand it. After a moment, Jim said, “She and the preacher we had before Julie went on a plane ride. The preacher’s brothers and his sister-in-law went with them. The preacher was invited to preach for a revival in New Orleans. But the plane didn’t make it to New Orleans.”
“What happened?” Caitlyn asked.
Jim answered, “The plane crashed in Mississippi. A place called Hattiesburg. It took about a week for a lot of people to find the plane. Everyone on the plane died, along with your Mom.”
“That’s a bad way to die,” Valerie said.
Jim said, “Yes, Valerie. It sure is.”
Then Caitlyn said, “I can’t believe we barely knew her.”
“You girls were very young when she died. I had to send you two to stay with your Nana and your Aunt Emily and Aunt Charlie. You two sisters stayed there for a few days. Chelsea, Lauren and Lindsay stayed here with me.”
“Did Nana and our aunts live in Ballantyne at the time?” Valerie asked.
Jim answered, “Yes. The same house they live in now.”

The next day, it finally stopped raining. The morning started off with clouds, but by around eight ‘o clock, the clouds had given way to sunshine. Jim’s girls ate their breakfast and got ready to go to the park. Chelsea didn’t go to the park with her sisters earlier in the week because she had to study for school and clean house. Now that she was caught up, Chelsea wanted to get out and get some fresh air. By 8:30, Jim had left for work. He told the girls to lock up the house before they left. The girls were out of the house by ten ‘o clock.
Jim arrived at Queen City Chevrolet. When he got to the dealership, he was greeted by a big truck and some men from the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. There was a big black trailer behind that big truck. The men were wearing black suits. This must be big, Jim thought.
Jim got out of his car. He walked to the truck. One of the men asked, “Are you Jim Faulkner by any chance?”
He answered, “Yes, gentlemen. I’m Jim Faulkner.”
After they introduced themselves, Jim shook hands with each of them. That same man said, “Good morning, Mister Faulkner. We’re from the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors and we have come all the way from Detroit to see you.”
Then Jim said, “Okay, men. Welcome to Charlotte and Queen City Chevrolet.”
All the men said, “Thank you, Mister Faulkner.”
“You all are welcome. And please call me Jim.”
Another one of the men said, “Jim, as you know, Chevy is turning one hundred this year. We at Chevy wish to thank you and the other dealers for all you do and have done. As we told you in that packet you got recently, we have something exciting. And we are about to show it to you. You will want to display it in your showroom for everyone to see.”
The man told another man to drive out the car that was in that big trailer. Two men opened the trailer door and lowered it to the ground. And out of the trailer came out something exciting, all right! It was a new Corvette! It was black, all the way around. It did, however, have dark gray racing stripes on the hood and the roof and below the rear window. It had “100” in dark gray on the rear fenders on both sides of the car. Jim got a look inside the car. It smelled pretty nice. It had black seats. The instrument panel seemed to be state of the art, with awesome lights, racing tachometer, and a pretty neat sound system.
Jim instructed the driver to drive it onto the showroom floor. He opened the doors to the showroom, put down some pieces of

The meeting at the church would turn out to be interesting, and informative.
When Julie McClendon, who was now the minister at Salem Church, made the announcement that she would start a singing group, Jim’s mind went back to that summer evening in 1984 in Lansing, North Carolina. That was the evening when Jim and his friends made a promise to remain friends forever, no matter what. Now, it was the spring of 2011. So far, they were making good on their promise. At least, the ones who were still there. Candi Faulkner, who was Jim’s wife, was killed in a plane crash in 2007. Malachi Holbrook was now living in Boston, where he was running his own law practice (he was licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Massachusetts). Malachi and his wife now had two kids. Kurt and Hannah Barrett were now married with a daughter named Summer. They still lived in the neighborhood. Vince and Marissa Crabtree still lived in the neighborhood as well. Russell Gilmore was now a pharmacist in Charlotte. Scout Gilmore was still living in Charlotte and was now working at a gas station. Simon Cavanaugh married Ariel and they had a son named Nelson. Alexandria Cavanaugh (Alex for short) was still single and lived in the neighborhood. Alex’s sister, Sydney, was still single but seeing someone. Mark Cavanaugh and his wife, Kendra, had three daughters. April Lynn Holbrook, Julie’s sister, had a son named Ryan. Ashley Holbrook Partridge, another one of Julie’s sisters, was now divorced and had a son. The Brazilian girl named Tia still lived in Charlotte, and she was now working as a teller at a nearby Bank of America. Julie was now widowed and raising five children. Julie’s youngest sister, Toni Lynn Holbrook, was still single.
And of course, there was good ol’ Jim Faulkner. He had been raising five girls on his own since losing his wife. And he also had his own dealership, and it was named Queen City Chevrolet. Mark Cavanaugh was the assistant manager. Jim was also the chairman of the deacon board at Salem Church. Mark was Sunday school director. It seemed like everyone made good on keeping that promise that was made back on a warm but dreary Saturday evening in August of 1984.
While Jim thought a lot about his mother, Wendy, and her two daughters, Emily and Charlie (two of Jim’s half-sisters), he also did a super good job of caring about his father, Walter Faulkner, who had been out of his life for a good chunk of his childhood. Walter had since remarried t

I had to work late into the evening yesterday, and he was just going to bed when I got home. I had left home for the office nearly 14 hours prior, had a long day, lots of meetings, traffic, etc.
When I walked through the door, I was exhausted, run down, and starving. My wife hugged me and asked how my day was, and I replied, "Done. It was a good day, but has got me exhausted. I just want to grab a bite and go to bed. I'm hungry."
From my son's bedroom, I hear him shout, "Hi Hungry! Nice to meet you!"
Not only did it make me laugh, but I completely forgot about how hungry and tired I was. I went to his bedroom, and we laughed together about it. It was exactly what I needed.
Edit: Thanks for all the awards, kind strangers! I'll let my son know y'all enjoyed his joke too!
"No, the regular kind!" I laughed.
