- she's definitely a war criminal but that adds to her charm imho, she's an #girlboss and we have no choice but to stan

- she can turn into a dragon and that's very sexy of her

-her design in DAO is butt ugly and lame as fuck and she's a fucking terrible mother but I can overlook that because she's THAT cool

- CAN WE TALK ABOUT HER ENTRANCE IN DA2? THE DRAMA, THE SMIRK, THE SUSPENCE,,,, SHE SERVED, SHE ATE, YAAAS QUEEN, MY WIG WAS SNATCHED

Why Robyn Dixon is a Stellar Housewife & Deserves Her Champagne Flute for Future Seasons (Longform with references to the wider Potomac franchise, comparisons to Cynthia Bailey and other "Greek chorus" Housewives, & Reasonably Shady)

Hi there! Baby poster here who finally thought of what he wanted to say after joining this sub. Just want to give you insight into the lens I'm rewatching Potomac from. This is my third rewatch! I've been a Housewives fan for a few years and have gotten into nearly every series rather heavily. Potomac is my #1 currently, overtaking my previous favorites in ATL, NJ, and NYC. I managed to get my roommate to watch HW due to SLC and we've transitioned to Potomac. I'm up-to-date with the show but of course, my roommate has never watched it and in general, is a quite casual Housewives watcher. This thread is just a compilation of my thoughts as a rewatcher, discussing Robyn's place in the Potomac franchise after engaging at length with a new viewer.

Regarding the infamously regular Robyn Dixon, we oft see her likened to other "normal" housewives which have found themselves on the chopping block season after season. The most common comparison is with Cynthia Bailey, a Housewife who just ended her tenure on ATL after ten seasons. Of course, there are other Housewives which the fans will bring up in conversations surrounding Robyn's place within the group dynamic of Potomac. However, the Cynthia comparison is the most apt, but I also choose to fixate on these commonalities in reverence to Cynthia's long career as a Housewife and how she navigated the game for so long. She is, without a doubt, the most successful Housewife for those in her archetype, a beautiful and false wallflower, which any following Housewives should aspire to be.

Cynthia, like Robyn, found herself at the center of a particular line of discourse every time cast announcements dropped: she's beautiful, but boring, make her a friend of the Housewives. We don't care about her storyline, be it about her relationship or her businesses, since she doesn't deliver the entertainment worthy of a tenured peach.

Note: I don't really plan on going too much further into this comparison between Cynthia and Robyn, to be quite honest. I find them to be very distinct characters on my screen and despite the common rhetoric surrounding them, it's not something I really find interest in doing a deep dive into at this time. Including Cynthia is more of a reference point as she is from a larger franchise, has been a Housewife longer, and has now completed the entire lifespan of a Housewife.

Fortunately for Potomac's continued growth, it's found (or arguably, developed) a cast with some of the most colorful personal

CALLING ALL BATTLE BROTHERS: Join the community Crusade!

Sorry Guys, We hit the character limit for this post. I have cut a lot of content out of some of the longer comments so that everything can fit. Please feel free to contribute still! I highly recommend you also check out the original comments as they will have a lot more information.

Hail fellow Crusaders, and welcome to the first community-driven Crusade. This will be a year-long collaborative narrative for our sub to participate in and evolve over time. More specifically, I will provide the blueprint for our crusade, but it will be up to you guys to flesh it out. The goal will be to have an evolving shared narrative that any black templar player can use for their army, as well as a shared enemy and iconography. I will also look into a way of recording our tabletop victories and heroic accomplishments throughout the year. any suggestions for how to go about doing this would be awesome!

It's simple to participate, all you have to do is a comment. Below I will provide a list of things that can be added to the crusade, ill try to keep it varied, but if you'd like to add something that isn't there, feel free to do so! Some categories will only have room for one suggestion, so the first person to comment a lore-friendly suggestion will get that spot. Each section will be continually updated with your contributions. Feel free to reference or build off of others comments. For the sake of fairness, please limit yourself to one big contribution or a handful of smaller ones. We want everyone to have a chance to participate. Feel free to write as much as you like, I will abridge your contribution when adding it to the post. You will be given credit and your comment will still have your full info.

Please title your comment with the entry name for clarity. Any entry with a "+" next to it is no longer available.

All lore-friendly suggestions are welcome (anything that is cannon, could fit in the cannon, or doesn't break the cannon). Ill go ahead and kick us off by naming our crusade! Henceforth we shall call it the unconquerable crusade, or in high gothic...

Yeah, people are definitely staring at me. Thought Kendrick as they started to make their way into the store.

Of course, a lot of them were probably looking at the slightly smaller but much poofier dressed male beside him, but any time he caught someone looking at him it was almost universally with scowls or disgust on their faces.

That didn’t happen too often though, since it was hard to to even see past the constantly moving wall of purple muscle orbiting them as they moved. The store’s entrance opened into the produce section, and the sisters led the way.

β€œThe fruits and veg first, huh?” Ciltari sounded disappointed. Pelrinn just looked around, staying silent.

β€œYeah, most big stores are going to be laid out to force you to go a certain way they figured out increases sales.” Kendrick explained, grabbing a cart.

β€œI was looking more for sweets, but is there anything here you would recommend?” Kalari asked.

β€œI’m not really huge into fruits and veggies, but apples are pretty nice, and some varieties can be pretty sweet.” Kendrick replied, pointed toward some baskets brimming with the fruits in question.

As they moved in his indicated direction, Kendrick’s head remained on a swivel, trying to watch everyone around them.

β€œWhat's the difference between these ones and those ones?” He heard Kalari ask from next to him.

Before he could turn and process the question, Grikel spoke up instead. β€œThe label says this kind is more sweet, and this kind is more…tart? β€˜Tart’, what is that English word’s meaning?”

β€œSour,” Kendrick answered, not even facing them as he saw yet another dirty look from some tired looking, middle aged woman. He was content to let Grikel show off her surprisingly good grasp of English if it meant he could keep an eye out for trouble. He felt a hand touch his back, and a glance to Morivey over his shoulder told him she was also watching.

β€œI wouldn’t mind grabbing a couple to try. Is there a way we can grab a few without them rolling around everywher—” Kalari started.

β€œLittle plastic bags on rolls are around the ends of the aisles to bag stuff.” Kendrick said in a tone that was perhaps a little too brusque.

β€œThere’s no way for us to know that. No need

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

22 Radiant Encounters to Fill Your World With Life and Humanity

I was recommended to post this here from another sub. Unfortunately I haven’t got around to making a hundred of them. I have no doubt I eventually will so if I’m violating some kind of rule, I’ll be back. Some of these are funny some are wholesome and some are tragic and dark. Some are boundary-crossing territory, be sure to ask players what they’re okay with. Feel free to add your own.

1. The Toll

While making a crossing, a troll demands the toll for the upkeep of his bridge. The troll inherited the responsibility of the upkeep for this bridge and lives in a hovel nearby. Because it doesn’t technically fall into any city’s province no municipality is responsible. The troll demands very little, merely one gold piece. It is willing to accept food, particularly of the fey kind as payment for its work. The troll may speak giant or very broken common depending on the party’s language loadout. There are no significant consequences for either paying ignoring or attacking the troll it’s just a stand alone moral choice.

2. β€œGive me a good death”

An old paladin hobgoblin wants his β€˜good death’. The hobgoblin has been looking for this death for quite some time in order to get into their order’s afterlife. They might phrase their proposal with the implication that the players should kill it. But in truth a self actualised hobgoblin of this obscure faction must only be killed by the one who knows them the most, themselves. Cut to the dilemma: the hobgoblin has rigged up some very elaborate means to commit suicide, it could be a Rube Goldberg Saw trap which ritualistically cuts the individual open seppuku style or a simple cliff edge with lots of spiritual meaning to the paladin; the problem is the hobgoblin needs an audience for its death or it doesn’t count. Though they might explain this in so many words, the players may still not be able to shake the feeling they are being tricked into an ambush.

3. β€œTell my wife…”

The players have arrived just in time to witness a grizzly scene. Two travellers have met with an unfortunate accident. Their carriage flew too fast down a hill and has crashed into a fallen tree. One of the travellers who was manning the horse was flung forwards and has been impaled on one of the trees many sharp branches. The other who was riding in the car has been partially crushed by the carriage. Both are still alive, though minutes from death. However importantly they happen to be just out ears reach from each other. Cut to t

[OC] r/LeBron or r/Curry? Using subreddit statistics to determine r/nba's favorite player in 2021

Introduction

r/nba has a long history of complaining about certain players dominating the community and since the rise of the subreddit's popularity, the two most popular players have undoubtedly been LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

On June 15th, 2012, [deleted] remarked "it's like r/lebron up in here." Nine years ago. This is the earliest mention of "r/LeBron" that I have found on r/nba. To be clear, the meaning of comments like this is not to tell people to literally go and check out the r/LeBron subreddit. Instead, it's a complaint that the r/nba subreddit is so saturated with content pertaining to LeBron James that it doesn't even resemble a community based on the league as a whole.

On February 28th, 2015, [redacted] chided "I prefer [r/nba] being /r/westbrook over /r/curry tbh." Six years ago. The anonymous user's comment was a reply to a post titled "r/nba lately was turning into a Russell Westbrook sub." In his comment, he made the first recorded complaint of the disproportionate pro-Curry bias on r/nba.

Now, one may think that this level of popularity is to be expected because these are arguably the two greatest players of the past ten years. That may be so. However, the general complaint is that the discourse around these players is slanted towards that player, i.e. you mostly see positive content instead of "slander" that many other superstars get for whatever reason.

Today, the terms r/LeBron and r/Curry are still thrown around to describe r/nba. My goal is to see which player receives the most positive and least negative attention. Not just the total amount of attention, regardless of sentiment.

Methodology

My analysis focuses on [Highlight] posts because these are easy to filter (the title of these posts all start with "[Highlight]"). Because other posts (like a player's stat line in a game) are phrased in many different ways, scraping them would be far more tedious and prone to error.

In an OC almost three weeks ago, I showed that LeBron and Curry's highlights get posted far more than any other player. They're definitely the two top dogs in that regard. Now, I'd like to dig a little deeper into their stats alone and distinguish between positive and negative highlights.

My goal is to get every highlight from the 2020-21 regular season mentioning Curry or LeBron. I filter out the ones that don't belong (like Seth Curry highlig

Halloween Kills Extended Cut differences:

Things it adds in the Extended Cut:

-The scene during the flashback of Michael looking at Lonnie from behind the hedge with an extra track of music

- An extra 10 seconds of Laurie arriving at the hospital in the ambulance

- A scene of Karen in the morgue looking for her husbands body, and getting shooed out by a hospital worker who looks overwhelmed with the deluge of bodies

-A few more shots of Michael looking at Sondra while she bleeds from the bulb wound

-A few extra shots of Allyson in the hospital

- A longer POV shot of Trivoli when he initially walks into the hospital

-A few more shots of Cameron's face when he is being used a human pinball

And finally the big ones:

- The only extra kills in the movie are a few more mob members deaths are shown on screen and it is less edited down. Tommy is killed longer and with the broken sharp end of the bat going into his face.

The Alternate Ending- After Michael kills Karen in the way shown in the theatrical cut, the camera pans over to Karens cell phone ringing on the ground, It is Laurie attempting to call Karen after feeling something is wrong. Michael answers and breaths into the phone while Laurie and Hawkins stare at each other. She says "I'm coming for you Michael" drops the phone and grabs the knife and leaves the hospital with a determined look while an extra track of music plays. The last shot of the movie is the blood knife like in H2018.

Things it adds in the Deleted Scenes:

- The scene of the drone watching Michael in the bathroom which was Nick Castle's scene. It looks really weird and is from the POV of the drone.

- A scene of Brackett and Allyson briefly talking

- A scene of the mob chanting "Evil Dies Tonight"

Things it didn't add:

-The scene of Michael sitting at Judith's dresser and staring into the mirror

-Lindsay being attacked by Michael

-Any extra of Tommy or Lonnie's adult dialogue

I'd say it's worth it for being the only home release probably, but the fact they didn't add back in Nick Castles little scene feels a bit wrong to me. The couple extra things in the movie, and especially the original ending do make it flow a little better.

A Look into Professional Sports Betting: Part I, Who We Are

Hullo. It occurred to me the other day while reading the β€œWhy the NFL isn’t rigged” thread that there is a dearth of content on this sub about how high-level sports betting actually works. This is not news to me, of course, but I was just reminded of how mysterious all of it still remains in the eyes of the average Joe. in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to share some insight about the business of sports betting, as I know it.

About me: I am a professional sports bettor in the Northeast. Please note carefully what this actually means. It means my primary (>70%) annual income derives from wagering on sports. It does not mean this is my only income. It does not mean I’m a God at picking teams, that I hit 69% of my picks (or that I even make any picks, more on this later), or that I’m an autistic mathematical savant. I’m just a dude who stumbled upon this and met the right people at the right time. Not unlike anything else in life.

Btw, being an β€œalum” of this sub and knowing the kind of BS that gets thrown around, I really don’t care whether you believe this is what I do for a living. I’m not here to shill or sell picks or tout packages, so if you think I’m full of shit, just move on, Karen.

Part I: Roles in Professional Sports Betting

Some context is necessary before we can discuss more. In most of the US, sports betting remains β€œillegal.” I use air quotes here bc betting on sports is rarely expressly illegal by statute. Prior to the 2018 repeal of PASPA, it’s more accurately described as β€œunregulated.” Local bookies using software they lease from pay-per-head websites (PPH) and Costa Rican offshores like Bovada/BetOnline dominated the action written for decades. Because we live in a backwards country where 400% short position taking and derivative options trading is legal but somehow sports betting is immoral, it was a sad state of affairs. Since most professional enterprises were formed when these were the only options around, the majority of action still takes place at these joints.

Here is a very rough sketch of the job descriptions involved in this racket:

  • Originator: These are people who come up with picks, aka handicappers or tipsters in common parlance. They use whatever process they have to pick the wagers they like. Most originators are nerds and a robust understanding of statistics is almost always required to do this well. However, there exists significant variation even among originators. Everyone makes their own nu

"It's okay, I've worked with animal rescue for 10 years now."

Disclaimer, English is not my first language so if there any mistakes please message me.

I have worked at a petting zoo for almost 4 years as the manager. Luckily I dont get a lot of entitled parents because most of them find animals disgusting. However there are some rare moments I meet one.

While I was feeding our ducks and chickens some bread, a woman walked up to me with her child (around 8 years old). "What are you doing!?", with a snare in her voice. I looked up and told her I was just feeding the animals.

"But why are you feeding them bread!?" Me: " It's 3 pm, they always get bread around this time, they will follow you around untill you give them bread." During this entire conversation I kept giving bread. Karen: "Well i've worked with animal rescue for 10 years now and I can tell you, bread is deadly." I have my degree in animal care and let me tell you, in my country they let anyone join animal rescues because they need every help they can get. Even if you dont have a degree. Me: "That might be right but I've never had a problem with any of my animals because of bread, and its not the only thing we feed them." K: "Well I've worked with animal rescue for over 10 years and its deadly." Me: "If my animals ever get sick because of bread, I will stop but as long as that isn't the case I wont". K: "Sick!?" She scoffs. "They wont get sick they will die!" Me: "Well that's odd." K: "What is!?" In the most sharp tone I've ever heard. Me: "For some dead animals they seem pretty alive to me, might be zombie ducks. Huh".

Let me be clear, they always wait at 3 for food. Not just bread but just anything, vegetables, bread, seeds. They don't eat bread daily and if they do eat bread it's not a lot, just a few slices.

Karen walks away with her daugther. While im still feeding bread I spot Karen picking bamboo leaves of our bamboo in the corner of my eye. Normally when people do this they will feed it to the goats (which isn't allowed). I always say something about it, but this time I was just waiting. She walks into the goat pen and starts feeding bamboo. I walk over there and say "Miss, you cant feed th.." She stops me with a big smile saying; "It's just bamboo leaves I've worked with pet rescues over 10 years now and it's healthy". Me: "That might be the case with some bamboo but there are over 50 kinds and some might cut the tongue of the goats because of the sharp edges. It happened before". Kentucky Senate leader Robert Stivers said he hasn’t heard from any constituents about the GOP’s redistricting plan. I plan to email him & the rest of the state senators and representatives to let them know I don’t support it. Their email addresses are below.

walked off job last night

Last night at 10 till 8pm, I walked off my job after two months. I have never done that in my decades of working. It was not the "Karen" in my line, who had issues with me trying to find out why she did not have a driver's license with the name that matched the one on the military discount. It was because of how the head cashier treated me afterwards. My side of the story was never asked, and from what I heard from the conversation she was having with my customer, the customer was lying. This head cashier then proceeded to tell me that I was wrong, and that she was going to report me to Michelle. She did this in front of other employees and customers. She has never been nice to me, and is very sharp and dismissive in her conversations with not only me but with other cashiers. I have tried to avoid her as much as possible. She had been harsh to me throughout the evening and I was not going to stand there and be berated in front of everyone for trying to do what I have been told to do - check photo ID's on military discounts.

The cashier department is very toxic. There is little training on the floor, and much inconsistency. I have told different things by different people so much, I had been only going to Michele to see what I was doing wrong. I am not the only new employee to feel that way. We were never told what we were doing right or wrong. I feel one cashier intentionally told me something wrong because she was afraid there were too many cashiers and her hours this month would be cut too much. Head cashiers barely talked to me or gave me any instruction.

I put together a list of 10 free comics for your weekend reading

Happy Friday!

I wanted to put together another "mix" list of 10 comics that have at least one issue free. Many of these follow the "first issue free" model, but some are completely free to read as of this post. There's a good variety of smaller indie publishers and even some individual creators in the list.

Let me know what you think of any you check out. Enjoy!

1. Boat, 171 pages - Published by BHP Comics

The water came and the cities fell. They were alone. The world is covered with water, Charlie is restricted to his boat searching for a home he may never find. Plagued by memories, nightmares and the shadows will he be able to survive in this new world and find peace?

^(This title contains a paywall beyond the initial free preview.)

Story and Art by BHP Comics

2. Lords of Iron, 27 pages - Published by Pocket Jacks Comics

An engineered race called the Vees, having settled Venus, now challenge the Earth for control of the solar system. Giant mecha battles ensue.

This cyberpunk comic uses none of the traditional science fiction tropes such as FTL travel or artificial gravity.

Instead, we explore our own solar system using the laws of known science.

^(This title is 100% free to read.)

Story and Art by Pocket Jacks Comics

3. Twisted Dark, 1290 pages - Published by TPub

Twisted Dark is a series of interconnected psychological thrillers, perfect for fans of twist endings and comics that reveal more on the second reading. Each story stands alone, but the more you read, the more connections you see between the characters. A rotating team of talented artists draw the stories, with each style offering something new. For bonus stories or more details visit www.tpub.co.

Background

Czarface is a group consisting of DJ and producer 7L, Wu-Tang’s Inspectah Deck, and perpetually underappreciated rapper Esoteric. We can’t really dive into the history of Czarface without diving into the history of its members so let’s begin with 7L and Esoteric. Back in the early 90s, Esoteric was DJing for a college radio station that 7L happened to listen to. The set was so good that 7L, who was also DJing in the area, decided to reach out for a collaboration and thus the duo was born. Before they hit their final form, they teamed up with little known rapper MC Karma under the name God Complex. The subsequent singles they released were met with acclaim in the underground and already featured the zany bars and comic book references that would define their later work. Shortly after their first EP, they dropped the moniker God Complex and released their following projects simply as 7L and Esoteric. I could bore you with the details of every single and album release but I don’t think it would better your understanding of the group or the album we’re highlighting today so we’ll move onto the illustrious Inspectah Deck.

As most of you probably know, Inspectah Deck is arguably Wu-Tang Clan’s most lyrically talented MC and is responsible for some of the most iconic verses in hip hop history; namely his verse on C.R.E.A.M. He’s always been pretty understated; especially in comparison to some of the Wu’s most prominent members, but that hasn’t stopped him from garnering an extremely loyal fan base over the years. It’s difficult to exaggerate the impact that he and the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan had on the world of music. I could talk forever about them but I don’t want to stray too far from the focus of this writeup so I’ll leave it at that.

Czarface officially came together back in 2013 for a one off project that was meant to be nothing more than some good music for the fans. The self-titled Czarface released to widespread critical acclaim so the group decided they’d make another one and the rest is history.

Now last but not least we need to talk about Daniel Dumile AKA MF DOOM. D
