Books/Journal/Papers/Case studies suggestion on Karakoram Pass from Geopolitical lens

I tried to find it through google but no success. I’m following the developments on India-China issue and read several reports about the region but I’m trying to find some quality material to understand the region & the geopolitical and strategic cost associated with it. Ofcourse, with India’s DSDBO road almost completed , Pakistan also comes into the picture. So, I am really intrigued to deep dive into the material associated with this whole region. Even the suggestions on the research papers will work as well. Currently reading this June 2020’s paper published in Australian International Affairs:" International relations and the Himalayas: connecting ecologies, cultures and geopolitics"

Thanks in advance. p.s. : I checked the list of books in the menu of this reddit but there’s no book related to this issue.

Does anybody know the current status of expansion of Karakoram Highway (Gilgit to Khunjerab Pass)?

Hi everyone, I am currently in China and I want to go to Hunza during the summer. I am wondering what is the status of the road construction at this point if I were to take a bus from Tashkurgan from the Chinese side?
