A list of puns related to "Kaplan University"
Hi there!
I'm writing an article for my student paper on our university's involvement in Kaplan. Could anyone give me some background on what the education system is like in Singapore, what role private universities play, etc? Anything you've heard about University College Dublin (UCD) in particular would be helpful.
Thank you for your time!
RAMSEY CASE TURNS INTO PAPER WAR PARENTS, AUTHORITIES TAKE CASES PUBLIC AFTER INTERVIEW CANCELED

JonBenet Ramsey's murder case finally ended up in court last week - the court of public opinion.
Four months after the 6-year-old was killed, Boulder authorities and the kindergartner's parents took their cases public amid an unprecedented flurry of faxes and memos and letters.
βThese guys are shaking faxes at each other like warriors shaking spears,'' Denver defense attorney Craig Truman said. βAnd I don't believe we've seen the last of it.''
At issue was the standoff over an interview with John and Patsy Ramsey - a stalemate that began the day after their daughter was found dead in the basement of the family home Dec. 26.
In those 120-plus days, the Ramseys have been transformed in the public eye from grieving parents to primary suspects.
Observers suggest that the couple's concern about public perception - along with frustration with the Boulder police, whom they accuse of indiscriminate leaks - prompted the strategic shift.
Whatever the case, it left legal experts shaking their heads.
βI can certainly not recall an exchange of memoranda between defense counsel and a police department that is this acidic,'' Truman said.
Little more than a week ago, Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter said for the first time that the Ramseys are the focus of the investigation. He didn't call them prime suspects, but their own spokesman had done so long ago.
With that as background, the Ramseys' lawyers broke their silence after police canceled a long-sought interview, saying they could not abide by the Ramseys' terms.
Kaplan, an adjunct faculty member at the University of Denver College of Law, seemed amazed that the Ramseys' lawyers had held their tongues as long as they did.
βYou've got defense lawyers who are at the top in their field, who have spent four months exhibiting their professionalism by not presenting their position through the media,'' Kaplan said. βAnd while they've waited for law enforcement and prosecutors to do a good job, their clients have been raked over the coals by slurs and innuendo.''
**The first statement the Ramseys' lawyers released last week expressed a lack of confidence in Boulder police but a willingness

American High School student here. I'm looking to study abroad in the UK. Anyone here have experience with Kaplan pathways, specifically, 'foundation certificates?' I'm most interested in U of Glasgow, as that is the one I'm applying to. Through Kaplan, I'm planning to apply for business and management.
So, the plan is to graduate high school and go straight to the UK for higher education. Though, my biggest concern is the financial aspect. Can I make a loan through this program? Anything helps!
just wanna find out if anyone applied for private unis??? and what are the courses yall are applying for??
MDIS? PSB Academy? BCA Academy? Kaplan? James Cook Uni?
im looking to apply for engineering courses in private unis but honestly there is quite little choices available and i feel like most who wants engineering will go to NUS NTU SUTD or SIT... i feel so lonely anyone applying for engineering in private unis too?? ://
any current PSB Academy or BCA Academy engineering students here to give advice on the courses???
In a worst case, the schools commit fraud and prey on people, who otherwise, have no business going to college. Yes folks, not all people should and can go to college.
In a best case, they are preying on working adults with families, with the promise of something that isnβt true. There are legitimate schools that working folks can get a degree at online and from a distance.
Piece of advice, if the only admission requirement to get into the college is the amount of money youβre willing to pay for tuition... itβs probably not a legit school.
Does anyone have any material from Kaplan University that they would be willing to share for a BDAR claim ? I'm desperate.
So, after reading that University of Phoenix is forgiving tons of student loan debt for being a fraudulent program I got curious about Kaplan University/College. It turns out that Kaplan was also found to be guilty of defrauding students and the government.

*The Kaplan University Lawsuit*
One of the principal reasons that Kaplan University Student Loans are eligible for the Borrowerβs Defense program is that the school has been involved of defrauding the US Government to the number of a huge $4 billion, which is essentially a record when it comes to higher education scam.
The school was doing so many forbidden things and running such fraudulent business methods, that the US Government investigation, lawsuit, and punitive actions essentially forced it into shutting down, which isnβt shocking if you think just how bad they were behaving.
In fact, within the class action lawsuit against Kaplan University, we found out that they were involved in changing grades, enrolling unqualified students, and even counterfeiting legal documents so that their substandard plans would get accreditation.
That being said, I believe this is something I am eligible for and can possibly make happen, but I might need help. The information I'm reading says that the application has to b very specific about how I was lied to and deceived when being pressured to enroll. It's been so long since I was enrolled that I don't have a TON of specific memories and definitely no names/dates that I can recall for this purpose, so I need some ideas on how to compile the information and documentation I need to present, and how to formally write such a presentation in a way that will convince them that i deserve to have these debts forgiven. I started the process in 2003/2004. I have not attended since 2005. I was attending for the Criminal Justice AAS program. I have already scoured the email account I used at the time and there is NOTHING there from back then for me to refer back to.
Obviously, I can't afford to hire anyone to handle these things for me, so I'm hoping that I have can find someone who knows about this stuff and can help to guide me out of the kindness of their heart. I need guidance to help me brainstorm on how to find the specific dates the application will require from me. From the government application website, I also need to find these things for my application:

Purdue University Global is the online campus for Purdue University. It was created when Purdue University acquired Kaplan University (rumor: for ONE DOLLAR!) and achieved non-profit status (Kaplan was a for profit school and one of the most notable ones alongside Ashford University).
Feedback from GradReports indicates a decline in education quality between Kaplan and Purdue (which is not unusual).
Here's what I observed so far, though I did not go all the way with the process.
Unknown/undetermined at this time.
Appears to be Gmail, based on student portal images.
Purdue Global offers two types of course tracks: online (Meaning, structured online) and what they call ExcelTrack, which is their accelerated online self-paced option. Not every program is available for ExcelTrack; these are identified specifically in the program name.
Purdue requires more credits than other schools - 180 for the Bachelors programs, for example, compared to the traditional 120 seen elsewhere. This will substantially increase the overall cost of tuition, though international students receive a 25% tuition reduction (which isn't common).
If you opt for the straight online, expect to pay anywhere from $350 - $700 per credit.
If you opt for ExcelTrack, expect to pay anywhere from $1500 - $4000 per Term (6 month periods).
They are also eligible for Title IV Federal Funds, and support military funded education. Full GI Bill support.
Images seem to show a custom portal that appears fairly well organized. It's not clear what the underlying technology is; perhaps Moodle?
Student feedback indicates that Purdue Global maintained the majority of the application experience from Kaplan. As a former Kaplan applicant, I can tell you that if this is true, expect not only a fast application process overall, but a bunch of followup marketing calls and emails. (Note: I have not verified this is true of Purdue Global; I share my Kaplan experience only, and the feedback from students that the Purdue Global experience is largely unchanged.)
They are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). (Don't fall for people saying "it can only be Agency X or they're not credible!!" it's not true.)
I am considering an MBA degree in one of the aforementioned schools and just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with either of those?
Things I am aware of:
Unfortunately, for various reasons, these are my only two options at the moment.
Some of the things I'd like to find out more about:
Anything else, the good and the bad, that you can tell me about the schools will be highly, highly appreciated. Thank you
I'm looking to go to grad school and get my masters, but I don't think I have high enough GPA for the college near me. So I was looking to possibly take an online course.
How do employers see or value degrees from establishments like these? I just want to know if it's worth it.
Does anyone have any helpful advice on how to take into consideration degrees from degree mills?
I understand that people, often of a lower income bracket, are directly targeted to take out large loans to pay for an education at these kinds of universities with the implicit expectation that their way of life will improve as a result. I am also aware that often these degrees are never finished and the borrower is left without a degree and inescapable debt.
So how am I supposed to judge the value of a degree if it was actually finished? From a B.S. and masters degree, and in this situation I am experiencing now, a B.S. and masters both from degree mills.
Thank you for your help!

Update Regarding the Purdue/Kaplan Deal
As I mentioned in my last update, the University Senate passed a resolution with overwhelming majority in opposition to the proposed Purdue/Kaplan deal last May. I also sent a letter explaining our opposition to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission. Since these commissions are still reviewing Purdueβs proposal, and we have not received a response to our letters yet, I called for a meeting of the Senate Leadership (composed by all of the standing committee chairs, as well as by the present and past senate chairs and the vice-chair). At this meeting, we reviewed Vice-Provost Frank Dooleyβs Frequently Asked Questions document regarding the Purdue/Kaplan deal, which was meant to respond to the large number of questions and comments gathered from faculty and sent to President Daniels. We found this document useful, but there are still many questions that can only be answered by engaging in direct conversations with faculty. So, I believe it would be useful to take a moment now to clarify and re-state some of our concerns and next steps.
First of all, it is extremely important that we make clear that we are not against the notion of making higher education more accessible to non-traditional students. Equally important, our opposition to the proposed Purdue/Kaplan deal should not be interpreted as being blindly opposed to on-line education either. We need to agree to agree that these are not the main issues. In fact, Purdue currently offers a variety of successful on-line programs, developed and led by well-established scholars. Based on the dozens of questions and comments gathered by faculty, and that were sent to President Daniels, our concerns could be grouped into three broad categories:
1. Shared-governance: This is the third time the University Senate feels that the carpet was pulled from under us by the current administration and that the principle of shared governance was not upheld regarding major university decisions. The first time was in 2014, when Purdue Calumet and Purdue North Central were merged into Purdue Northwest; the second time was in 2016, when the Board of Trustees passed a resolution to re-structure (meaning eliminate and suspend) some programs at the Purdue Fort Wayne campus. And, now the most shocking for faculty was the proposed Purdue/Kaplan deal. I had already described our concerns
