El Desperado (c) def. Hiromu Takahashi | Pinfall (Pinche Loco) | 16:18 |
El Desperado retains the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. He has currently held it for 59 days with 1 successful defense.
Code Blue is walking through a grocery store when a TMZ reporter runs up to him with a camera.
Reporter: Mr. Blue, do you have a minute?
CB: Sure, why not?
Reporter: At Carnage Tour Night 1, you attacked Brian Hill after his match against ROSHE. Do you mind explaining your actions?
CB: Brian Hill pisses me off. It's pretty simple. The man walks into this company thinking he's hot shit because he's made some blockbusters. It don't work like that. He assumes that I wanna team with him, even though I already got friends. You know why? Because this dude ain't never been told no before. He gets all the money, all the women, all the accolades. And he thinks he can have my support as well? Fuck outta here. He jumps the line, getting himself a match against the InterContinental Champ, and he blows it. Then, he apologizes? If you gonna talk shit, stick to it motherfucker. I went out there and fucked him up because I don't like him. Not to sound like Daniel Storm, but I straight up don't like the dude. He has 2 movies called The Silencer and yet he doesn't know how to shut the fuck up.
Reporter: Speaking of ROSHE, he's a part of LOX. PRIMETIME and LOX famously don't like each other. But a few days ago, you put out this Tweet. Care to explain?

CB: Damn, 2.8 million likes? Guess that shit about me not being a draw was a fuckin' lie, damn. But to answer your question, that Tweet's true. LOX go against what I stand for, but I respect them. And neither of us like posers. I'll go up against them eventually, but not right now. It ain't time yet.
Reporter: In that case, who do you want to go up against?
CB: There's a ton of dudes, but I wanna defend this belt against Corey Youngblood for sure. Man's cocky, he's skilled, he's got it all. He thinks he's entitled to a match with me, and he ain't wrong, either. He got a group with him, I got PRIMETIME with me. We both think we the best. There's some parallels there. But he's also an asshole. And I destroy assholes. Just ask Brian Hill's assistant.
Reporter: Wow, quite vulgar. But that's why you bring in the views, I suppose. Anyways, you mentioned PRIMETIME. What's next for the stable?
CB: Glad you asked, actually. First of all, congrats to my boy T.M Imran on winning that TV Title, man deserves it. PRIMETIME 2 BELTS, BABY! And 2 seems to be our magi

This might be the one with the least accurate assessment on my part because the junior division has had a turbulent year, a lot of the title matches weren't great (SHO vs Takahashi and El Desperado vs Robbie Eagles imo for example) and I just generally didn't focus as much as I did with the heavyweights. So I apologise if this poll is less agreeable than the others. I just thought today that the juniors deserved some acknowledgement. I must say BOSJ was excellent though.
Hiromu Takahashi and Taiji Ishimori will never not be my favourite combination after what I believe still to be the best BOSJ Final ever and their Wrestle Kingdom match I just really loved and continue to almost a year later.
Happy the Clown vs Code Blue (c) - FBE Junior Heavyweight Championship
Happy the Clown comes off a win in a #1 contenders match to earn this shot. The sinister Clown enters the arena, marching to the ring with a serious face! Code Blue comes out next, basking in the audience's approval as they hope to see the champion fight another night!
>"Ladies and gentlemen, this match... IS FOR THE FBE JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Introducing first, the challenger... from Henry's Traveling Circus... weighing in at 195 Ibs... Happy! THE CLOWN!!!"
>
>"And his opponent, the champion... from Houston, Texas... weighing in at 245 Ibs... He is the FBE JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!! 'HOUSTON'S FINEST!!' CODE BLUE!!!!"
The bell rings. The crowd cheers for Houstonβs Finest as he soaks in the ovation from the crowd. Meanwhile, Happy stands in his corner, a frown still on his face as he doesnβt take his eyes off Code Blue. Blue and Happy, eager to finally fight, waste little time in locking up in a Collar and Elbow tie up as Code Blue pushes Happy against the ropes. The referee begins a rope break count before the champion quickly whips his opponent to the opposite side of the ring, following up with a strong shoulder tackle to his incoming opponent. The crowd cheers again as Blue acknowledges them, giving the crowd what they want. Happy gets up before the two men circle each other again and initiate another technically Collar and Elbow tie up. Blue overpowers his smaller opponent once more, getting him to the ropes before trying to whip him away again. Happy stands his ground in the center of the ring and tries for a strong shoulder tackle of his own before getting rocked to the mat by another shoulder tackle from Blue. Size and power advantage to Blue. Happy watches in increasing anger as Blue plays up the crowdβs interest, infamous for his pandering.
Happy the Clown gets back to his feet and backs into the corner as he simply stalks the champion, watching him play to the crowd before Houstonβs Finest is ready to lock up again. Blue reaches his hand up as Happy does the same. They lock up their other hands and try to push each other back. Happy cunningly falls back for an arm drag that sends the champion flying to the corner, smashing into the turnbuckle! Happy follows him before Blue gets his body through the ropes to cause a rope break. Happy is backed up by the referee as Blue looks at the challenger and smiles, giving him a nod of app

He is young (27), athletic and has a good look. More interestingly, he doesn't wrestle like a cruiserweight even though he is very small. He at great at playing the crafty heel and there is little to no wasted motion in his matches. He is also fairly charismatic and cut a promo.
If New Japan decided to invest in him(if they haven't already) they might have a future star in their hand.
Hello, relatively new fan just wondering how often this happens. I know all three of the people who've held the new IWGP World Heavyweight Championship went from Junior Heavyweight to Heavyweight (Shingo, Ospreay, and Ibushi), Omega won the Junior Heavyweight title before moving up to Heavyweight, and I'm pretty sure both Naito and Taichi won the Junior Heavyweight Tag titles before moving up a division, but I just want to know if this a more recent thing or if it's always been this common for Junior Heavyweights to move up?
The best historical example I can think of isn't from New Japan, with Misawa moving after he got unmasked in AJPW. After that, I'm really not sure, because I don't think historical IWGP champs like Chono, Nagata, Tenzan, Tenryu, Choshu, and Fujinami were ever Juniors. Did early Tanahashi or Nakamura ever wrestle in the Junior Division?
The Hype
>We have 1 of the most anticipated bouts in the main event of Mayflower Mayhem. A triple threat main event that might very well steal the show. As the Junior Heavyweight Championship hangs in the balance. This match is for the title as well as to settle the personal issues.
>We have our FBE Junior champion Guy Fawkes defending vs Code Blue & T.M Imram. After destroying Blue's personal property, questioning T.M Imran's moral values upon losing to Blue in a match officiated by T.M. It has all come down to this for Fawkes. The champion has never looked this focused. Things might have not gone his way last week but he can fix it all tonight. But when it's for the title Fawkes puts it all on the line. Can Guy Fawkes redeem himself in this triple threat tonight?
>T.M Imram enters this triple threat with a lot to prove tonight. All his hardships to get to FBE, bouncing back from losses, despite the injury, reaching the Gedo Classic finals vs his best friend putting on an epic draw, facing allegations from Fawkes for being biased in officiating just to get his shot at Junior Heavyweight Championship match. Will the True Megastar prevail tonight?
>Last but definitely not the least we have Code Blue. He has been undefeated since his FBE debut & after giving Fawkes a loss by Mercy Rule, Code Blue confidence is on next level. But tonight he is in a 3 way where the champion is desperate to redeem himself at any cost. On the other side T.M Imran has come the closest of giving Blue a loss but ended up in a draw. Tonight will be the biggest test of Code Blue. Will he pass this test tonight?
Entrances
Code Blue
Still tippin' plays & the audience erupts. On titontrome a cruise staff member knocks on the door of Code Blue's room. Code Blue comes out & starts walking his way to the ring. Code Blue passes the corridor of wrestlers cabins. He stops for 2 seconds at the last cabin & it's Guy Fawkes's cabin. Blue turns to the left & starts walking upstairs with the lifeboats area down in his left. Blue reaches the upper duck & sees T.M with guitar in his hand, standing near the balcony & looking at the sky. T.M doesn't turn towards Blue & keeps looking at the sea. Code Blue keeps walking as the camera is showing Blue's front side & T.M is standing a bit behind. Imran turns around & gives a thumbs up. Code Bl
