A list of puns related to "Joshua Wong"
It's well known that certain people form nation-states of their own due to irreconcilable ideological differences from the ruling establishment. Singapore is one such example, breaking off from Malaya in 1965.
While I have no issue with the end goal of the Hong Kong riots if all they wanted is simply a sovereign and independent nation in the very same vein Singapore was created, the very nature of the Hong Kong protest leadership raises questions if that is REALLY their end goal. In this essay I attempt to highlight the various contradictions of his movement, which calls into question his true intentions.
For instance, Joshua Wong claims that the end goal of the Hong Kong protests was simply to gain a free, independent and autonomous Hong Kong that is free from Mainland Chinese influence. If that is truly his end goal, to turn Hong Kong into an East Asian Singapore, with himself proudly carrying on the mantle of Asian values, then of course I would support him 100%. But unfortunately, Wong is hardly a Lee Kwan Yew - on the contrary, he is the complete polar opposite of the great Singaporean statesman. While Lee Kwan Yew fought and rallied hard against British colonisation, Wong welcomes the British colonisers back with open arms. While Lee Kwan Yew made it very clear that he was a stark proponent of Asian Values, Wong has made it profoundly clear that he is no champion of Asian Values, and has openly expressed his preference for the values of the West. While Lee Kwan Yew struggled to build up Singapore after breaking free from Malaya due to ideological differences without calling for intervention from the West, Wong holds closed door meetings with some of the most eggregious fascists of the Western neocons such as Marco Rubio and Mike Pompeo.
For a man who supposedly stands for freedom and liberal values, Wong certainly does have some very peculiar bedfellows and some very interesting Twitter posts. Referring to one of history's biggest Western supremacists and Sinophobes Winston Churchill as 'our Prime Minister' and using Churchill as the mascot for Hong Kong Democracy, freedom and equality would be a moot point since Churchill himself never supported the idea of Democracy or autonomy in Hong Kong in the first place. And neither did Wong's beloved British colonists - every one of the Governers of Hong Kong was a white Caucasian man who was appointed by Britain. There was no Democracy, racial equality or free speech in Hong Kong during most of Britis

Besides the fact that he has made some of the most cringeworthy historical misstatements (ie saying that Churchill is Hong Kong's former Prime Minister), acted as a cheerleader for Western hegemony and colonialism, is the poster boy for white supremacists who use him as an example of 'what Asians want', and (sorry to sound so shallow) possesses a face only a mother could love, he just doesn't seem like a very likeable guy on a person-to-person basis. You know in school there's always the really unpopular, obnoxious socially inept guy who says the most cringeworthy shit, who is basically a chick repellent, that even other guys avoid like the plague? Well, that image pretty much sums up Mr Wong. If you stop listening to what Westerners have to say about him and start listening to what Asians think about him, you'll realise that most of us, even those who hate China, think he's a joke. Most of us, especially in former Western colonies, regard him as a joke.
But here's a theory I'd like to posit: My theory is that Chans and Lus have suffered from some kind of past trauma within their own communities that causes them to reject their cultural heritage and seek acceptance in the West. Perhaps they were bullied in the past - have you noticed that most Chans / Lus look like the spurg with no friends at school? Just look at Joshua Wong, Jason Leong, Ken Jeong and every other Chan who bashes other Asians and Asian culture to gain white approval. Does any of them look like an Oppa to you? And of all the Lus I know personally, not one of them was well-liked in school or at work.
If I was an unpopular spurg in Asia, and my first friends I made were people from the West, who knows whether I might have turned out as an Uncle Chan or not. Remember Ephiltes the hunchback from 300 who betrayed the Spartans and sided with the Persians? Well, when he was in Greece he was ostracised and bullied by his peers, and that's what made him abandon his loyalty to Sparta. Even if the King of Persia was just using him, at least he got crumbs of acceptance rather than no acceptance at all.
Could we reduce the number of angry and resentful Chans and Lus by taking bullying more seriously in our communities? Perhaps we need to be nicer to the unpopular kids at school, help them to better integrate into society instead of ostracizing them, so that these people don't end up being weaponised by white supremacists who will take advantage of their
