So what do you guys think Josh is gonna do next? He has teased he wants everyone at 147 but I don’t see him doing that successfully until Crawford and Spence are gone. And I think they’ll both retire after they fight. Would Taylor then clean 147 with guys like Boots and Ortiz on the horizon? I think staying at 140 and dominating Lopez, Tank, and many other title defenses would be just at lucrative
Was talking about this with my friends and we disagreed. Taylor is obviously incredibly skilled, but I think Ricky breaks him down with a ferocious body attack and wins a decision. What do you guys think?
I'm a new boxing fan, so I have limited understanding of the sport.
In light of Canelo becoming the 6th undisputed champ in the 4 belt era, I looked up the other fighters and Josh Taylor came up. After looking into his career, I noticed that he received only a tiny fraction of attention from the Boxing media as Canelo did for the same(?) feat. On instagram, he has 205K fans, which is miniscule compared to Canelo's.
I looked at his record and I noticed that he hasn't fought anyone that a new/casual fan such as myself would recognize. Is this why he's not as famous? I guess Canelo is an exception because he's fought some of the best and been at the top for so long, but why is someone as accomplished as Josh Taylor receiving such little attention?
