I called John Clayton's radio show today and asked, if Earl Thomas wanted out of Seattle, or if the Seahawks were to blow up the defense, what would you expect to net for him in a trade. He said a 1st and a 5th rounder. My question: would you want your favorite team to make this trade?

The sandwich was supposedly invented by John Montague, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, as a quick meal while he gambled. What exactly did gambling/casinos look like in the 18th century? What sort of games would Montague and other aristocrats play?

I asked John Clayton today 'if' we had to trade Earl Thomas what would be a fair haul. He said a 1st and a 5th. Would you want us to do it?
Pro trade: He's a smaller safety who gives huge hits and relies on speed, and could have a steeper drop off like a Bob Sanders (or Felix Hernandez). He's not guaranteed to resign and expressed interest playing elsewhere. If many members of D leave, like Avril Kam Bennett and sherm, are we winning the super bowl with him in a year he's 50/50 to leave after?
Against trade: At this pace, future hall of famer at premium position. Defense goes from upper ranked to lower ranked without him. Makes all members of secondary after.
Belichick would trade him wouldn't he?

This is a sort of follow-up question to a post I just saw about John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. Did he really invent the sandwich?
It's just that I find it hard to believe that at no point in all of human history until him did it ever occur to anyone to put their food between two pieces of bread, for one reason or another. Or maybe his version is just the first piece of meat between two pieces of sliced bread, but I also have a hard time believing that no one ever thought of doing that before him. I'd love to know if anyone has an answer for this.
