A list of puns related to "John Posey"
From KNBR:
>There were plenty of injury updates around the Giants now under two weeks before Opening Day:
>
>— Buster Posey (hip) could play as early as Sunday. He’ll be doing baseball activities Friday, and the Giants want to see how their star catcher comes through.
>
>— Alex Wood (a Tuesday ablation procedure for nerves in his lower back) is set to play catch Friday and is “feeling better,” Kapler said. The Giants will know more — and whether he has a chance to be ready the first week of the season — after he throws.
>
>“He hasn’t missed too much time, so he hasn’t been down for too long,” Kapler said. “There’s still a nice foundation there.”
>
>— Evan Longoria (plantar fasciitis) is building up and should play catch at 75 feet and then 90 feet. He could be playing the field in games “by the middle of next week.” He’s only been designated hitter thus far.
>
>— Brandon Belt (mono, offseason heel surgery) is going to run bases Sunday. They’d like him to do that two or three times.
>
>“It’s not out of the question that he would be in a game around the end of next week,” Kapler said.
Of the four, I'm most worried about the plantar fasciitis. It takes months to over-come plantar fasciitis. Worse, if you rush back you can end up with it worse. If you try to play through it can cause hip & knee problems as your body shies away from the pain and compensates with an unnatural gait.

Quick note - This data is meant to be cheeky.
This morning, I woke up with this feeling, I didn't know how to deal with, and so I just decided to myself that I’d count all the screams featured in the Scream franchise to see if there's an ideal amount of screams, or whether they affect the Tomatometer/IMDb/Metacritic/Box Office results.
After some research, I found that there are a few infographics, lists and videos that attempted to count the screams, but they didn’t seem thorough enough to stop me from my quest. Thus, I felt like my idea to count the screams was justified (Hello Mickey from Scream 2). To prove I did the work, I’ve provided timestamps of all the screams I included in my count.
Here’s what I counted as a scream:
Scream - When a character belts out an "aaaaaaahhhh" or "eeeeeeeee" (you know the noise). I didn't count when a character yells 'Help me!" or "Oh, sh**!" No words, only primal screams.
I counted screams that occured during these instances:
Amount of screams per film
Results
Scream (1996)
Scream features the least amount of screams and death. It also made the most money at the box office, when the audience/critic scores are averaged, it has the highest scores.

Scream 2 (1997)
They say a picture is worth a thousand words....What are millions of apes' words worth?
The Truth. Which is priceless.
This DD is one that I've been wanting to write for some time now. There is a TL;DR at the bottom but read this post and go through the links. Wake up, Neo...

While I'm short on sleep and low on caffeine, my ape-sense™ put a hair up my hairy gorilla ass that precisely now would be the time to write it as we are staring down the barrel of a major economic event in the form of a historic market crash. A major economic event, that shills and fudsters are attempting to use any way they can to get you to feel the same cold, tingly, spine-chilling anxiety they are experiencing knowing they face utter obliteration because of the extreme greed and corruption they allowed to go unchecked, and now have come back, baring very real teeth in the form of millions of apes, standing their ground....and a likely global economic reset.
I'm going to do my best to outline the connections between the multi-headed hydra (hail hydra!) (I can do this all day) that comprises the many long, winding, rotten, and oh yes, slimy tentacles of this mainstream-media monster. A monster that recognized the power of controlling the narrative. Why? Because AMC was Yahoo's TOP TRENDING TICKER FOR 2021. [AMC EDGED OUT TESLA by a cool 30 million views!!!!](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/
... keep reading on reddit ➡The rules: make the best all-time team for each division, BUT you must use two (and only two) players from each team.
Each team consists of the 8 position players, 1 starting pitcher, and 1 relief pitcher/closer.
Heres my attempt:
AL EAST
SP: Pedro Martinez (BOS)
C: Yogi Berra (NYY)
1B: John Olerud (TOR)
2B: Ben Zobrist (TBR)
3B: Evan Longoria (TBR)
SS: Cal Ripken Jr. (BAL)
OF: Frank Robinson (BAL)
OF: Babe Ruth (NYY)
OF: Ted Williams (BOS)
RP: Tom Henke (TOR)
(The Rays make this one tricky - my only other thought was maybe david price for SP or Carl Crawford for OF but theres a lot more value from other teams at those positions)
AL CENTRAL
SP: Bret Saberhagen (KCR)
C: Joe Mauer (MIN)
1B: Harmon Killebrew (MIN)
2B: Nap Lajoie (CLE)
3B: George Brett (KCR)
SS: Luke Appling (CHW)
OF: Ty Cobb (DET)
OF: Tris Speaker (CLE)
OF: Minnie Miñoso (CHW)
RP: John Hiller (DET)
(Not too convinced by this team! Someone with better knowledge could probably better me)
AL West:
SP: Nolan Ryan (LAA)
C: Ivan Rodriguez (TEX)
1B: Jeff Bagwell (HOU)
2B: Craig Biggio (HOU)
3B: Adrian Beltre (TEX)
SS: Alex Rodriguez (SEA)
OF: Rickey Henderson (OAK)
OF: Mike Trout (LAA)
OF: Ken Griffey Jr. (SEA)
RP: Rollie Fingers (OAK)
(I think this team absolutely fucks)
NL EAST
SP: Tom Seaver (NYM)
C: Gary Carter (WSH)
1B: Miguel Cabrera (MIA)
2B: Chase Utley (PHI)
3B: David Wright (NYM)
SS: Jimmy Rollins (PHI)
OF: Bryce Harper (WSH)
OF: Giancarlo Stanton (MIA)
OF: Henry Aaron (ATL)
RP: Craig Kimbrel (ATL)
(This was by far the most difficult, mainly due to the lack of all-time great middle infielders)
NL CENTRAL
SP: Bob Gibson (STL)
C: Johnny Bench (CIN)
1B: Willie Stargell (PIT)
2B: Joe Morgan (CIN)
3B: Paul Molitor (MIL)
SS: Robin Yount (MIL)
OF: Roberto Clemente (PIT)
OF: Stan Musial (STL)
OF: Sammy Sosa (CHC)
RP: Lee Smith (CHC)
(Contrasted with the East, the Central is the land of 1000 shortstops! The brewers packing the infield made this one a bit more difficult)
NL WEST
SP: Randy Johnson (ARI)
C: Buster Posey (SFG)
1B: Paul Goldschmidt (ARI)
2B: Jackie Robinson (LAD)
3B: Nolan Arenado (COL)
SS: Pee Wee Reese (LAD)
OF: Larry Walker (COL)
OF: Willie Mays (SFG)
OF: Tony Gwynn (SDP)
RP: Trevor Hoffman (SDP)
(If Tatis becomes what everyone hopes, we could swap out Posey, Gwynn and Reese for Tatis, Piazza/Campanella, and Bonds, which i think packs more punch.)
I really digged through, so mine are:
S1: Parker Posey. Just a Posey stan here. Rosie Perez. Always happy to see. Bridey Elliot as Chantal's neighbor. That was crazy funny. Both she and Clare McNulty who plays Chantal were in Bliss/Rogers debut movie "Fort Tilden", SP basicly grew our of it. (Also just found out Jiggly Caliente was in the pilot!)
S2: Jo Firestone (Elliot's group therapy). I fell in love with her thanks to "Shrill" series and then found out she was in SP too. And what a scene! Jason Greene (Elliot's group therapy) & Patti Harrison (political campaign staff). Lovely trans representation this season!
S3: Shalita Grant as Cassidy. She was over the top and I lived for every second of that. Hallie Haas as Dory's friend from the past, season premier. "We made it!" Rofl Chelsea Peretti as Elliot's lawer. They had so much chemistry together, and the whole interogation scene with the detective (Nina Hellman) changing clothes and trying her speech was comedy gold.
S4: Cole Escola is a genius ♡ Chloe Fineman screaming and the whole deadly book sequence, probably the most laugh out loud moment of the season (the other one would be the circling cars). Pat Regan, the shrimp twink. Nailed it!!! Ruby McCollister, the ice cream worker. Never faded in the backround with all those huge co-stars. Special mention: Chantal/Clare McNulty, her episode was brilliant.
S5: John Waters is a legend! Jackie Hoffman as Chantal's psychotherapist (and she survived). Julio Torres, the pool boy. I'm happy he was in SP too, his comedy style is so unique. Just a few drops of lavender oil lol Jesper society, I mean, wow, Lou Diamond Phillips! Illeana Douglas!
Fun fact. Charles Rogers, SP co-writer and co-director, played 4 different roles through seasons!
I was curious to see who was the best player born on each day of the year. It turned out to be a bit more of a struggle than I thought it was going to be, so I decided to simply sort it by WAR. Does that mean that sometimes a better player got left off the list for a player who simply had a longer career? Absolutely. But WAR is a nice simple stat. So, here's the list!
January
February
March
April
edit2: I MADE IT THROUGH THE LIST! Good god. Sincerely 50/50 about people caring to hear about it and people dismissing me altogether. Mostly Southern states answer the phone directly. Mostly Northern states have an immediate voicemail. Found maybe 3-4 offices that were knowledgeable about his perjury and say 70% were knowledgeable about the hearings where the perjury took place.
Thanks to everyone that commented or gave awards. Great to have so much support. As I got further down the list, it started to change from me being the one informing the office of the situation to them knowing about it! That means YOUR calls started making an impact. I cannot respond to so many messages at the point. I literally just got through the list and refreshed the page for the first time and saw the amount of attention this received.
BUY. HODL. REGISTER (and fuck hedge funds).
edit: After you leave your message, ask them to repeat it. If you are not a constituent or have a "foreign" phone number, they will not ask your name or anything, say "We will pass your message along." and they will not do anything. This is the way to catch them in that act. Honestly, it's been 50/50 throughout this whole list (for the people that have answered).

Behind-the-scenes of the cut throat world of a big time dog show circuit, as only Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy can bring it. I don’t know what else I can say about this series of mockumentaries, you either get it or you don’t. I always hate it when someone say that but there are times when it applies. The gang’s all here - Guest and Levy (of course), Catherine O’Hara, Parker Posey, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael Hitchcock, John Michael Higgins, Jim Piddick, Fred Willard - these are all great improv actors and they’re at the top of their game here.
I’m watching the movie and I’m considering the 3 “good ones” - A Mighty Wind (2003), Best in Show (2000), and Waiting for Guffman (1997). Each of them showcase the crazy cliques and intensity at the core of the players, whether it be music, theater, or here, dog shows. People who float around the peripheries aren’t terribly interesting but those that deep dive these special interests can manifest the most peculiar craziness. Guest and Levy just tap the vein and take it for a ride.
Maybe they appeal to Mrs. Lady Zedd and I because we’ve been around people from all three of those groups. While the films mine comedy gold, there’s not much difference between the actual groups and the mockumentary. As they drift farther and farther from center, each person within reflects back to the group the same messaging until they form their own echo chamber and a center of gravity all their own. It’s only the uninitiated looking in that detects the strangeness but then, the uninitiated is the strange one to the group. Need proof? Have a casual understanding of Star Trek and go to a convention filled with hardcore trekkies.
I think the last film, For Your Consideration (2006) fell flat because it was missing that element - someone with access to Hollywood’s Oscar elite might feel differently but most of us are not privy to anything more that the media buzz. I think finding the comedy in junior movie buffs might have been more accessible to a larger audience - I mean come on now - if you’ve read anything I’ve written over the years on film you gotta see how accidentally funny a would-be, amateur film critic can be as he (or she) stumbles their way from film to film. I
... keep reading on reddit ➡I have been binging the show over the last few days i'm on season 3 and I just really became captivated in Parker Posey's performance as Dr Smith/June Harris. I didn't like her at first, but I warmed up to her towards the end of season 1 when she saved John. She displays traits of "borderline personality disorder". People with this usually feel unloved, have unstable emotions and quite often pit people against each other. But I love her dynamic in Season 2, she has just such a great back and forth dynamic where she is helping them but is conflicted about what she wants and needs. I'm on season 3 and it's such a shift, seeing her now teaching french and actually helping others. She's not my favorite character (that spot is reserved for the amazing Don West!). But she is a close second for me.
I can see why many dislike her, but I don't think she deserves the amount of hate she gets, as I think she gets so much better and has such a fleshed out character arc.
You know Kirby, right? Pink, circle, my second main in Smash Bros, the usual stuff. Well, arguably his most well known ability is the ability to suck up defeated enemies, and absorb their powers. For some reason, while watching the Braves win Game 1 of the NLCS, I thought of how good the Braves would be if they had the Brewers' pitching staff, and I had the idea of the league champion absorbing the defeated teams' best players at each position. So I figured it out, and did the same for every league champion since 2000. Strap in, it's going to get a little bumpy from here, I hope you like Excel.
For those interested in seeing the worksheet itself, here it is. I wish I didn't have to go through Dropbox for it, and just upload it through Google Drive, but the formatting didn't show up in Drive, and that was like half of the appeal for me.
So some ground rules:
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
So, as it's time for the offseason, it's also time for crazy offseason posts that have way too much effort put into them. Just before the World Series ended, /u/skraxx and I decided to put together an offseason game where every team was run by a different person. The results? Hoo boy, they were crazy. So let's go over some highlights. If you don't want to read specific highlights, you can check out final rosters here.
The Chaos:
Here's a list of every high profile trade that was made during this offseason. Let's break it down, shall we?
Giants receive: Eric Hosmer, Pierce Johnson, Justin Lange, Jackson Merrill
Padres receive: Zack Littell, Steven Duggar
This was the very first trade made in the league, and it did not disappoint. A salary dump of Eric Hosmer in which Pierce Johnson, Justin Lange, and Jackson Merrill went over to San Francisco. Pretty crazy way to start the sim.
Yankees receive: German Marquez, Antonio Santos
Rockies receive: Chad Green, Estevan Florial, Clarke Schmidt
Still pretty reasonable thus far, with the Yankees trading a decent haul for German Marquez. Trades like this made me think that the sim would be relatively calm, but hoo boy will we get to that.
Giants receive: Johan Camargo, Huascar Ynoa, Braden Shewmake, Yoansy Moreno
Braves receive: Mike Yastrzemski, Thairo Estrada
Giants trade Yaz and Estrada for a Starting Pitcher, a decent middle infield prospect, a bench bat, and a young prospect. Might be too little for Yaz, but I'm a believer in Ynoa and Shewmake.
Blue Jays receive: Ketel Marte
Diamondbacks: Nate Pearson, Orelvis Martinez, Bowden Francis
Blue Jays make a big splash by acquiring Ketel Marte. This is a pretty good haul, but a good move by Toronto nonetheless to bolster their lineup even more.
Yankees receive: Alex Dickerson, John Brebbia
Giants receive: Aaron Hicks, Zack Britton, Ken Waldichuk, Elijah Dunham
To give some context to this, Skraxx and I agreed to put a hard limit on the payroll for each team, and thus the Yankees desperately needed to shed payroll. As such, they trade Hicks and Britton in a salary dump, giving up Waldichuk and Dunham in the process.
Rays receive: Josh Hader, 1.5M
Brewers receive: Xavier Edward, Josh Flemming, Neraldo Catalina, Alejandro Pie
Brewers decided it was time to trade Jo
